1. Describe the importance of WASH in school/School WASH program.
WASH in schools is a critical aspect of WASH interventions. There are a number of reasons for this, including improving school attendance and reducing absence related to illness, creating a safer environment for children in schools, communicating and teaching children important messages regarding hygiene and the link between water, sanitation, hygiene and disease. Furthermore WASH in school programs can be used to teach children about issues such as water quality, through lessons where children get to use water quality testing kits, reuse and recycling through inclusion of appropriate hardware choices and ecological sanitation elements in the WASH in schools programs. Furthermore children can act to disseminate hygiene message learned in school by taking the message home with them, and then promoting hygiene change within the wider community.
Beyond these important aspects of WASH in schools there is also an

From the water perspective this may include handpumps in small primary schools, or on the larger scale mechanised pumping systems with tank storage and piped distribution. This decision will partly depend on the schools location and the water resources that are available. In the case of mechanised pumping schemes, solar pumping technology could be used. This would add an additional benefit to the WASH in schools program as it could also be used to teach children about renewable energy. In addition to the supply of water quality aspects could be included in the program. Provision of water quality field testing kits to the schools would allow teachers and students to participate in water quality monitoring and learn about issues of water quality more broadly. Field testing kits are often very visual and could be used as an important learning tool as part of the WASH in schools
...lk about projects such as these two,we must bear in mind that there are relatively great chances for the government to atleast have awareness of the underlying practices and situation. If we use the alternatives, it will incur cost but it will let go of the sacrifices and compromises poverty stricken nations have to pay. On the stakeholders i.e. the general masses it will be beneficial as they will be paid for their work in legal framework and will be provided water products in the market (Me, 2014).
It’s no mystery that having clean water is a fundamental element to living in a prosperous society and one of the few things essential for human survival. Water not only sustains our health, but is required in making everything from electronics to clothes. Clean water may seem as ordinary as putting on your shoes, but it’s a daily party of our life that’s being threatened.

Better infection control practices and hand washing techniques utilized by the general population help to reduce the incidences of easily avoidable conditions, such as impetigo caused by staphylococcal and streptococcal infections. It may be beneficial for public health departments to recommend teachers to teach students on how to properly wash hands and clean high contact fomites.
The focus of health care is and has always been, practicing good hygiene, living a healthy lifestyle, and having a positive attitude reduces the chance of getting ill. Although there is not much prevention we can take for some of the diseases but we can certainly practice good hand hygiene to prevent infection and its ill effects. Research proves that hand washing is surely the most easy and effective way to prevent infection in health care. The question for this research: Is Hand washing an effective way to prevent infection in health care? It led to the conclusion that due to the high acuity, high patient: staff ratio, and lack of re evaluation certain units in the health care facilities cannot adhere to correct hand washing guidelines. Hand
Child providers need to know the correct way to change a diaper and appropriate ways to teach children to use the toilet in order to prevent the spread of illness.
Hand hygiene has been shown to be one of the most effective ways to prevent infection amongst our hospitals. A serious blood stream infection caused by a common bacterium called Staphylococcus aureus has a 25-30% mortality rate; this is higher than the mortality rate for people that have had a stroke or heart attack. Hospital infections are preventable.
My lesson plan was to use open-ended questions to draw out what their habits are in regards to their hygiene. Also, to use factual information based on multiple resources to support the importance of good hygiene. Based on some homeless individuals having mental illness, developmentally delayed and younger age groups, I wanted to give step by step information to implement hygiene practices. Recommendation was made to use a hygiene log for those with poor record keeping o keep. Importance was stressed to make sure hygiene care was completed, and supplies used for personal care is also maintained in a cleanly manner (see Appendix A and B for more information on the Lesson plan).
4. Describe how to make an individual aware of the effects of poor hygiene to others. If it is possible, the management should provide videos about personal hygiene which to be played always for the residents. The videos should contain how, when and why we should always practice personal hygiene.
Measures to expand and improve public delivery systems of drinking water, contributing to a reduction in morbidity and mortality associated with enteric diseases, because these diseases are associated directly or indirectly with providing substandard water or poor provision water. Currently, 1,400 million people lack access to safe drinking water and nearly 4,000 billion lack adequate sanitation. According to estimates by the World Health Organization (WHO), 80% of diseases are transmitted through contaminated water.
This research method is called pump and treat. It is a very popular method for cleaning up contaminated groundwater. By proceeding with pump and treat, adding cleaning wells will be necessary. Groundwater is then pumped through these wells and will go into a holding tank so the process can begin. The pumping process helps so that no contaminant can reach drinking wells and public water use. This treatment may require several different cleanup methods if groundwater contaminants are
Some individuals don’t appreciate the advantage of having clean water available at all times. Habitants of developed countries who have easy access to clean drinkable water directly from a hose, tap water from the kitchen faucet or from bathrooms in their homes, usually don’t care or worry about saving it. Habitants of rural poor communities such as Sub-Saharan Africa, are living in a water stressed environment. Residents of these communities have to walk miles at a time just to gather water from streams and ponds, even though the water source may contain water-borne disease that can make them very sick. In the rural areas that don’t have access to safe, clean water, it is very difficult to prevent the spread of viruses.
Clean water is needed for good human and animal health, but as DoSomething.org states, over 1 billion people worldwide don’t have a means of getting clean drinking water, an...
Having clean water to drink means that water must have microbial, chemical and physical characteristics that meet WHO guidelines or national standards on drinking water quality. Around 780 million people in the world don’t have access to clean drinking water (Millions Lack Safe Water). More than 3.4 million people die each year from water, sanitation, and hygiene-related causes. Nearly all deaths, 99 percent, occur in developing countries. Around the world, diseases in unclean water kill about 1,400 children every day (Clean Drinking Water). There are many organizations that raise money in order to help develop ways or create ways for people to obtain clean drinking water. However, many people are unaware that this is even a problem in other countries because we take clean water for granted.
Another problem for people of Africa is clear access to clean water. Clean drinking water is very rare for the people of Africa. Unclean water and sanitation problem leads to many diseases in African countries. Main problem which occurs due to unclean water is child morality. Around 2000 children’s die from diarrhoea which spread due to poor sanitatio...
