The city of Fruitvale has two plumes near strawberry creek and hillside drive that are contaminated with No-Bug pesticide that need to be removed and cleaned as soon as possible. I believe that this research method will help resolve fruitvale’s water problem.
This research method is called pump and treat. It is a very popular method for cleaning up contaminated groundwater. By proceeding with pump and treat, adding cleaning wells will be necessary. Groundwater is then pumped through these wells and will go into a holding tank so the process can begin. The pumping process helps so that no contaminant can reach drinking wells and public water use. This treatment may require several different cleanup methods if groundwater contaminants are
In Barbara Berlund’s Making San Francisco American: Cultural Frontiers in the Urban West, Berlund explains how San Francisco grew from a young settlement which grew rapidly thanks to in part of the California Gold Rush which took place in 1949. Of course with the growing of this small settlement came it’s conflicts and how it rised to where it stands present day. A primary factor which helped San Francisco flourish a ton was the influence from those who had power and chose what would happen throughout the city, for example the Big 4. Those who were wealthy did not make this city what it is today without the help of people who made up the middle class as well. Every establishment within this city set the social order as to how the inhabitants of San Francisco would go about their life in society.
The Everglades used to be a very beautiful tourist attraction, but have been largely affected by the existence of pesticides. However, the majority of pesticides is not specifically targeting the pest only but they also affect non-target plants and animals during their application. The Effect of pesticide runoffs on the Everglades is destroying one Florida’s major tourist attractions due to the cultivation of sugar cane just to mention one of those responsible and creates a loss of natural habitat, water pollution, and threatens existence of wildlife. Many pesticides are not easily degradable; they persist in soil, leach to groundwater and surface water and contaminate wide environment.

Pesticides in ground water seems to be a continual problem with people nowadays, because they think that the pesticides don't soak into the ground water. They believe that when a pesticide is sprayed on a plant, the leaves are what pick up the pesticide but thats false, the roots pick up the pesticides which proves that the pesticides have to soak at least a few feet into the ground.
Sacramento is a bustling city with a diverse population and a city structure to match. In the last few decades the growth and development within our area has grown exponentially, land that was completely vacant fields and farmland has been replaced with shopping centers and freeways, expanding with the population increase in recent years. With the fast-track building of these areas before the economic collapse, more areas were developed than can currently be filled, which unfortunately has left many new buildings empty and lots paved for new construction or parking lots left unused. This is in addition to the expansion of roads and freeways in an attempt to relieve the traffic congestion that comes from rapid urban growth.

Such is the condition of Texas waterways. The surging population in Texas, the numerous pharma, chemical and oil industries, landowners, farmers and other residents have been recklessly using water. Water is a limited resource and our best efforts in recycling, reusing and conserving water have not yielded the desired results. Climatic changes over the past few decades may have resulted in unpredictable rainfall in Texas. It is important to conserve water without polluting it. It is shocking to know that the drinking water has traces of arsenic, cyanide, nitrates, asbestos and mercury and lead. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the National Geological Survey after conducting studies have shown that water samples containing growth hormones, various antibiotics, birth control drugs, and many other chemicals end up in ground water. The Trinity River is highly polluted with bacteria from sewage. The high water pollution in Texas State by various sources causes environmental hazards and life threatening diseases like cancer and nerve damage; thus the government and community should intensify their efforts to reduce pollution and make drinking water safe.
Fruitvale water clean up is a serious project that needs fast action. Fruitvale’s town water supply is in danger of being contaminated. Years ago, containers of a bug pesticide called “No-Bug” were spilled onto the ground. How is this a problem? Well, Fruitvale’s soil is different than other cities, it has an ability to absorb the toxins that are found in No-Bug pesticide. These toxins soon end up in our groundwater and keep on traveling down hill. Fruitvale has about three years to clean up the chemicals, but how should we do it?

Saltwater contamination of drinking wells and of water supplies is being observed more frequently. The effects vary depending on the degree of saltwater intrusion and the intended use of the water that is being contaminated. The contaminated water can be desalinated to remove the salt from it. The Desalinated water can be then reinjected into the aquifer to maintain a high freshwater table. The increased demand for freshwater is fostering the technologies needed to treat the saltwater. Infrastructures can be built to prevent salt water from moving into freshwater areas. However, these systems are not always adequate to prevent
