What is Self-Discipline?
The indispensable requirement for hard work is self-discipline. Success is possible only when you can overcome the natural tendency to cut corners and take the easy way. Lasting success is possible only when you can discipline yourself to work hard for a long, long time. Napoleon Hill wrote that “Persistence is to the character of man, as carbon is to steel.” He also said that “Before success comes in any man’s life he is sure to meet with much temporary defeat and, perhaps, some failure. When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest and most logical thing to do is quit. That is exactly what the majority of men do.” It is your persistence that is your measure of belief in yourself and your capability to succeed. If you can persevere long enough and believe in yourself and your ability to work hard enough, ultimately, you will succeed in any endeavour you set your mind to.
Failure is necessary
A huge weakness in some people is the fear of failure. Failure seen as weakness is wrong. Failure should be seen as the stepping stones to success. As Thomas Edison pronounced says “Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” What this means is that in order to succeed you will fail. To become a master in your craft you must have the ability to accept that you will fail on your journey to establish skills in your area of expertise. The only way to overcome this issue is to either try again, or give up. You can easily give up, but it is your self-discipline that will enable you to try again, and again until finally you succeed, no matter how big or small the goal.

...y states that the law of belief, an important consequence of the law of cause and effect, says that “your beliefs become your realities.” You do not believe what you see, but you see what you believe. William James of Harvard said that “Belief creates the actual fact.” In the Bible, it says, “According to your belief, it is done unto you.” If you believe strongly enough and confidently enough, your outer world will tend to conform to a pattern consistent with these beliefs. The bible also says “All things are possible to him that believeth.” Keep your vision clearly before you and take continuous positive action, every hour and every day. Develop a sense of urgency to improve upon. Move swiftly when opportunity presents itself. Uphold a bias for action. Fast tempo is essential to success. The faster you move the more energy you will have to complete future practice.
I agree with Gladwell that hard work can lead to success. Too often we think success happens because someone has money or gets lucky. This is wrong. Success takes hard work, imagination, and motivation. “Success is not a random act. It arises out of a predictable and powerful set of circumstances and opportunities.” (Gladwell 52) If you assert yourself and use your mind and imagination, you can create those
The motivation to be successful is very powerful. Some people will work twelve hours a day, seven days a week in order to feel successful. These people will work so
If someone wants to succeed in life and stay recognized by superiors, then he or she ought to appear hardworking. A person begins with setting goals. There are two categories, the first, “be” goals and the second, “do” goals. In other words, ask yourself, "What to be?" or "What to achieve?" Four categories of goals consist of wealth, health, relationships, and self-fulfillment which equal success. Working diligently to finish a task demonstrates how to live a successful life. Given these points, Thomas Edison, Helen Keller and Harriet Tubman, all exceptional achievers, found that prosperity undoubtedly comes along for everyone who perseveres.
Failure is one aspect of life that no one can avoid. The terror that comes from failure is that it has the power to break someone down to where they feel they can not get up and overcome the situation. Failing at a situation seems to make all hard work vanish in an instant, as if all the time and effort that was put forth into succeeding was never even there. Although failure can hurt and cause anxiety and even depression, it also allows a person to discover that even though they have been crushed they can still conquer it and succeed in the end.
The fear of failure is a frequent battle found within me. Often, because of this fear I struggle with self-belief, so much so that I hesitate to pursue something I desire the first time opportunity arises. Usually, I need to steadily muster up enough courage before seeking it.Consequently in some instances it is already too late. Fear of failure impedes my progression and in turn I lose sight of my aspirations. In the novel The Alchemist, the Alchemist tells Santiago during his final task, when he is asked to turn himself into the wind that nothing is impossible: "There is only one thing that makes dreams impossible to achieve: The fear of failure" (141). I find I am able to relate to Santiago in this situation due to my athletic history. Whenever, I try-out for a team I always feel anxious and nervous. "What if I am not good enough?" or "What if I do not make it?" are two questions I ask myself every time. I question my abilities and skills and everything that I have accomplished thus far is no longer comforting. I then convince myself that failure is inevitable and therefore do not bring fo...
Self-regulation is a theory of human behavior involving cognitive, affective, motivational, and behavioral components and it refers to self generated thoughts, feelings and actions that are planned and cyclically adapted to the attainment of personal goals (Boekaerts, Pintrich & Zeidner, 2005). Self-regulation is a continuing process that occurs both consciously and unconsciously that affect the ability to control responses (Strauman, Kolden, Stromquist, Davis, Kwapil, Heerey & Schneider, 2001). It is a skill that has overarching effects on an individual’s ability to tolerate unmet wants or needs, handle disappointments and failures, and work towards success. Hence, self-regulation refers to the
To begin, I honestly believe it is necessary to be dedicated to your job. It is necessary to be one hundred percent dedicated to whatever you are doing if you wish to get substantial results. If you look at statistics, you will realize that it took years of blood and sweat, otherwise known as dedication, to get something fulfilling. Jesse Owens once aptly stated, “We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort.” I honestly believe that if you wish to be successful in your occupation you must be willing to put in the effort. You will not be satisfied with your work if you do not do whatever you can to get it done. To sum up, you must ...

Persistence is a powerful force that can be harnessed toward your success. As you probably know, success just doesn't fall into your lap; you have to take action toward success and like climbing a ladder, it takes forward action one step at a time.
I believe that hard work is the real treasure of a person because without hard work we cannot achieve our dreams and goals in life. No one can achieve success without doing hard work. It starts when we stop looking for alternatives or shortcuts towards success. We need to remember that there are no short cuts to success. Hard work, complimented with an intense desire to struggle and to achieve success is the only sure way of reaching success that you have always wanted. Hard work is one of the secret for us to be successful in life. Laziness and sluggishness makes one’s life a curse and only hard work can make your life a blessing. We cannot work hard if we don’t have goals. The meaning of goal according to Wikipedia is a desired result of a
Clearly failure is not something for you to fear of. Success is good but it usually make you corky and greedy, where failure give you self-realization and self-examination. So do not be afraid of failure, just put everything you have in to what you doing. Sometime you win sometime you learn. Because if you are so afraid of failure and won’t learn from it, you can literally fail your way to success. Like a wise man said: “Even a broken clock is right twice a

Obviously nothing happens without hard work. Just like if a student really wanted an A+ on their next test. The student cannot just sit there and play video games all day because every individual should know; every satisfying result comes from determination and hard work. Results can go one way or another, but it all depends on an individual’s strong

Persistence. Persistence in the face of opposition. It is easy to be passionate when life and business is good. You will have the perfect mindset and attitude. However, what happens when the perfection stops and the hardships set in. Will you drive forward, with the same passion and commitment? The winners do. The successful entrepreneurs do. Persistence is the ingrained mindset of success. It truly does separate those that succeed from those that fail. Your persistence is what separates those that dream to achieve and those that achieve. Never give
