I am interested in pursuing an MBA at this point in my career to better prepare myself as I transition out of the military in the near future. A MBA from GWU will further define the leadership and managerial skills I have already learned inside the United States Air Force. In addition to an MBA, my past experience with managing people inside very harsh climates and physically and mentally challenging scenarios will set me apart from others in the career path I choose. GWU is also a very military friendly school. I know this because I have spoken to a few members of the armed service who attended GWU and they all spoke highly of GWU. So to have the opportunity to pursue an MBA degree online from a school that promotes academic excellence was a huge reason why I am applying. GWU is also located in an area that will give me many opportunities to network with people in the Washington, D.C area including the opportunity to learn from influential speakers that can further mold me into a better leader. I’m specifically applying to be accepted into an MBA program with a concentration in consulting. My career in the Air Force has exposed me to multiple scenarios, setbacks, and achievements. These situations have intrigued me to pursue a civilian career in consulting. I am currently the lead consultant for the Commander of the Component Maintenance Squadron on all deployment requirements and logistic planning. My ability to remain attentive and alert in many environments has produced exceptional results for my team as well as myself.
