Secondary research
Secondary research is information that has previously been gathered
from other sources. It is usually carried out by a third party
company. The data is then analysed and made available for other
companies. When using secondary data, care must be taken in ensuring
the information is correct. The data analysis and presentation may be
affected by the way the data has been collected. Secondary research
methods include the Internet, textbooks, magazines, newspapers and
reports.

I found the following information from Cadbury confectionary market
review (2003)
In 2003, Cadbury increased its share of the market to more than 29% in
contrast to Nestle and Mars who have seen their share decline to 21%
and 20%.
The UK confectionary market continued to show growth in 1999,
driving sales of 5.5 billion. Chocolate sales account for around 70%
of the confectionary market, at 3.5 billion, while the remaining 30%
is made up of sweets, worth more than 1.75 billion.
These graphs show me the age and sex of the consumers of confectionary
products. This tells me about the area of the market my product is
aimed at. It tells me that more children eat the products than buy it.
It also shows that 35.7% of 0-16 year olds eat confectionary products,
which tells me there is a want for chocolate from my target audience.

I wholeheartedly endorse Addison’s argument community colleges contain an environment that allow their student, especially the high school students to get used to the adult live in a timely manner without affecting their grades. But, at some point all those high school students are growing up to become adults, where on their own they will have to manage and balance everything, it is not really
In comparison to a 4-year university a 2-year community college is much more affordable option. Even if a student ultimately transfers to a university, those first two years at a community college can still save a student ten-of-thousands, and some cases hundreds-of-thousands, of dollars, “In 2011-2012, after accounting for grant aid from all sources, net tuition and fees… at public two-year public colleges was effectively zero for students from the two lowest income quartiles.”(Jenkins). Along with saving students money overall, community colleges allow students to work while going to school, so it gives students the pros of both not going to college, and going to college. The one downside of community college is the lack of degree options, but there is still a large selection of degrees that can be acquired at community college, just not as many as a 4-year university. When comparing all three of these options, the community college option seems like the only option where the pros heavily outweigh the cons while with the other options, the cons can easily overpower the
MSLC will focus on how relationships are shaped or established as it relates to the individual and societal interactions. If Jennifer does not acclimate to the changes in her life, Jennifer may go throughout life blaming others for the way her life turned out. A healthy intervention plan such as MSLC, could help Jennifer grasp a clear perspective of the changes and how they are affecting her life and the decisions that she is makes. Applying the symbolic interactionism theory will provide a plan of action to understand Jennifer’s societal perception and how it has shaped her life (Murphy-Erby et al.,
When you graduate high school you have your choice of what kind of an education you want to get. You have your choice of going to a 4-year university, or a 2-year college. In order to decide you will compare the two and use the comparisons to come up with your final decision. Questions to ask yourself would be, what are you looking for in college, how do you want to learn, and how much money do you have to work with. Comparing University and Community college the first thing that comes to mind is the difference in price. Certain Universities are more expensive than others. The difference in price is because of the difference in price and size, also because of the difference in the educational program they have. The price for a University can also differ with whether or not you are going to live there. With a Community college the price will differ significantly. The difference in price strands for the difference in size, teaching and living. At a Community college you have a smaller campus, the curriculum is different and yo...
Although they are both a lot alike, there are many differentials of the two. Universities are known for having large campuses; consequently, resulting in large number of students in each class. While Universities can range from having 20-1000 participants at a time, community colleges usually have no more than 50 participants in a class. As a result of such a large class size, it is harder for a professor to be able to develop the one-on-one time with a student. Due to most co...
Facing something that we want to judge, we can not only find its disadvantages, then ignore its advantages and values, and that’s the same for colleges. As a matter of fact, we need to face everything with fair judgements rather than prejudices. Community college or two-years college is good for us to choose; don’t let the prejudices influence our
Fried chicken, a meat product that uses parts of chickens that are “coated with batter and seasoned, flour, and fried” (The Free Dictionary). It is popular all over the world, but is especially popular in the Southern community. However, in the African-American community, this meat product has taken on a racial meaning in the United States. It has become stereotypical for African-Americans to love fried chicken, along with watermelons, cornbread, and collard greens. This new meaning to fried chicken has affected our social community as well. The reason why this stereotype exists in the first place is hidden in history, dating back to the years when slavery was common.
Most community college campuses are small compared to universities, which means that class sizes are typically smaller as well. Many students who attend a university after high school have trouble keeping up with the academic pace, and large class sizes made up of hundreds of students only makes matters worse. At community colleges, professors are far more accessible and can provide the personal time students are accustomed to. Community colleges are a notch above high school, but they also provide great learning and social atmospheres on a smaller scale. My freshman year of college, I attended the University of Missouri in Columbia. Most of my classes had over 250 students in them and I didn’t have the opportunity to meet a single profe...
Another benefit to attending a junior college is the smaller class sizes. The classes at a junior college are held in classrooms, not huge lecture halls. I feel that a student can get more out a class lecture when there are fewer students in the class. It is easier for a student to ask questions when the class size is 30 students versus the 100 students in a university class. In a smaller class, the instructor will have more time for one-on-one meetings and discussions. This in itself can give junior college students an advantage over university students.
Community colleges are great when it comes to saving money and classes are small in size if that is what a student is looking for when seeking a college education but with a small amount of students enrolled in a community college compared to a university, it is harder for some to make friends like they hoped for. In a large, university setting, there are many activities that are encouraged by the school and many students take part in to constantly interact with other students. Even the small daily activities, like the walk to classes, can lead to a new friendship if a student finds another person who is in similar classes and sections of campus. College life is vastly different from the campuses of Community Colleges to that of
However, such an argument completely ignores the fact that community college teach students how to become successful in life. “’College is the key,’ a young African-American student writes for the umpteenth torturous revision of his college essay, ‘as well as hope’” said Addison (page2). Many students switch majors in their first two years of school which makes sense because it’s difficult for a student to plan his or her life and what he or she is going for. Community college will give u all the time in this world to choose a major by taking general classes like math, English and other general subjects for the main time. For example, when I started school at Truman College, I wasn’t sure of my major. Therefore, I started taking general class like math, English and music just to keep me in school till I decide my major. Community college gives students time to learn more about college before choosing what to major in; which makes it easy for more students to enroll in credit classes and be successful in life. Compare to university whereby a student has to know what he or she wants to major in; if not, it will be waste of
The rate of students attending two year college after high school has increased substantially throughout the years. In the United States approximately half of all high school graduates attend two year colleges. There are many advantages of attending a two year community college. Unlike universities two year colleges have a class room range of 25-35 students (Belfield). Small class size makes it easier for students to talk to their instructor and keep track of progression throughout the semester. Another advantage is that most students that attend community college either work part-time or full-time jobs. Community college give new moms and working students the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of education, by offering class during the day, evening, and on weekends. Two year colleges have a variety of programs in many fields of study which means that students are likely to find a program that fits their interest (Belfield). Many students who enroll in community college realize that they achieve the same level of academic success than those at a university for a low affordable cost.
Theory and research are linked in quantitative and qualitative data in the sense that theory is the prime mover with respect to research, making sense out of various isolated empirical generalizations. When research is done, many authors begin to write literature reviews in order to support the topics of discussion. Literature reviews can inspire new ideas, and help lay the foundation for studies (Polit & Beck, 2010, p. 170). Researchers begin to gather their data through qualitative, quantitative, and evidence-based research in order to support their general findings. When writing a literature review, researchers provide readers with a background for understanding current knowledge on a topic (Polit & Beck, 2010, p. 170). The primary focus included in this literature research is: Should vaccines be required for children? In order to elaborate on this current issue, a secondary question that can be asked is: How does a parents view on vaccines affect whether or not a child will be vaccinated due to the belief that it may cause autism? Identifying questions within the topic is the primary action of writing a literature review (Polit & Beck, 2010, p.172).
Alfred Lord Tennyson was born August 6, 1809, at Somersby, Lincolnshire. He was the fourth of twelve children. As a boy he led a very miserable and unhappy life. In 1828 Tennyson entered Trinity college, Cambridge. The most important part of his experience there was his friendship with Arthur Henry Hallam, who was the son of a well known historian. Hallam encouraged and inspired Tennyson to write. Hallam died in 1833. Tennyson published poems in 1842 which proved to be a great success and secured his position as the foremost Victorian Poet. The year 1850 was important to Tennyson for two reasons: his marriage to Emily Sellwood and the publication of "In Memoriam" , his great elegy to Arthur Hallam. "In Memoriam’ was merely a verification of some of the books that Tennyson had been reading" (Wiley 160). These books included Lyell and Darwin. Many of the lines in his poem show an interesting compromise between religious attitude and what is quite a different belief, the belief in human perfectibility. "In Memoriam" can be justly called a religious poem. However it is not religious because of its faith, but because of the quality of its doubt. Its Faith is a poor thing, but its doubt is a very intense experience.
George Herbert Mead begins his discussion of symbolic interactionism (talking with others) by defining three core principles that deal with meaning, language, and thought. The theory states that meaning is the construction of social reality. Humans act toward people or things on the basis of the meanings they assign to those people or things.
