I can remember being in 3rd grade, and also 4th grade, I had this teacher, she was a genuine teacher, and every day we would have free reading time, and were allowed to read whatever we wanted and bring a snack of choice. I saw kids reading ginormous books to narrow books, kids were reading horror books, funny books, mystery, and etc. She gave the feeling that I could read any book that I wanted to read, that I wasn’t compelled to read a chapter book, or read books everybody was reading, and I chose to read “Goosebumps”, and “Captain Underpants” every day at school. I wanted to attend the summer challenges parties, but the books were, well uninteresting to me. I wanted to read books that were about sports and horror, I read “Million Dollar Arm”, and that was the only known sports book I read, if they had numerous books that would have interested myself ,I would’ve read higher amounts of books, but they had lifeless books. So at the borderline of the year, when kids were called for a pizza party, ice cream party, or extra recess time for reading all the books, I was in school and watching and that made me not want to read. Math made me feel smart and made me feel like I wasn’t senseless , but English was difficult, luckily there were more picture books, rather chapter books in 2nd grade, so I had a horrible experience with reading, and my parents assigned me a tutor/teacher to help me read and sound out the word and understand the word by breaking the word into pieces to know
