As a full time student and a part time worker, the demanding course load of physics classes in addition to working for 20-30 hours per week during any time of the year, I am usually too overwhelmed to be able to participate in an extracurricular activity that requires regular schedule or demands significant dedication. However, before I started my first year at college, I was a semi-professional soccer player who had been playing soccer regularly for about four hours per day for seven consecutive years. Despite my talent and interest in soccer, my family never allowed me to turn my semi-professional career as a soccer player, playing either for fun or for winning local tournaments in Iran, into a profession due to fear of serious injuries which my family could not afford when I was younger. Times passed and during the last year of high school, I found a new passion that was Physics. Regarding my intellectual interests, I love philosophy, particularly, the philosophy of religion. In my opinion, philosophy complements the Physics. In a sense, I agree with Paul Dirac’s description of theoretical Physics that states, “…theoretical physics is actual philosophy”. My volunteering time at PLC was limited to a few weeks due to the start of demanding course loads of junior and senior undergraduate years; however, I spent quite a bit of time at PCC as a tutor. My duty was to tutor Mathematics (up to introductory Linear Algebra) and Physics (general Physics) at PCC’s Student Learning Center.
