“One day, I will give more to the world than what I take out of it.” This was my response when my seventh grade teacher asked what I wanted to do when I grew up. Since the beginning of middle school, I dedicated myself to growing academically, musically, and emotionally. I aspired to be the best student, daughter, and friend I could be, hoping I could one day help as many people as possible. I plan to make a difference by becoming a physician’s assistant to help patients on a daily basis. If I was accepted into the university, I would take advantage of the opportunity to double major by majoring in music performance and statistics. Majoring in music gives me the necessary skills to teach students and share my passion. Meanwhile, majoring in …show more content…
If I was accepted to the School of Music, I would work with the school’s orchestra to improve as an ensemble performer. I would work by practicing individually and in various group sizes outside of rehearsal to practice blending. With a music degree from the university, I hope to open a private lessons studio; I can continue my career as a physician’s assistant but can also share my passion and knowledge with others. Additionally, majoring in statistics will provide a strong foundation to pursue a physician’s assistant program after completing my undergraduate at the university. I plan to major in statistics because it shares prerequisites for the physician’s master’s program. Additionally, I want my undergraduate degree to be challenging and interesting; my junior year, I took AP Statistics alongside Honors Pre-Calculus and truly enjoyed taking two math classes. By majoring in statistics to become a physician’s assistant, I could eventually use my education and knowledge to save lives as a career. In order to be successful, I aspire to take advantage of the laboratories for modern teaching and research. I hope to enter the statistics and music performance programs at Wisconsin-Madison to learn as much as I can through the numerous resources the university
Physician assistants (PA's) practice medicine under the supervision of physicians and surgeons. PA's are trained to provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services, as delegated by a physician. They work with members of a healthcare team, they take medical histories, examine and treat patients, order and interpret laboratory tests and x rays, and make diagnoses. PAs may be the principal care providers in rural or inner city clinics where a physician is present for only one or two days each week. In such cases, the PA confers with the supervising physician and other medical professionals as
After review of my skills, interests, and experiences, I decided to pursue the medical career field as my first career choice, more specifically as a physician assistant. The career I plan on pursuing in life is becoming a certified medical assistant. Medical assisting is one of the fastest growing careers in healthcare. To become a certified medical assistant you will have to achieve a certification through the certifying board of the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA). While you can work as a medical assistant without being certified, employers are often looking for someone skilled and qualified.
I believe that people everywhere should always have access to adequate medical care. Where you live should not determine whether you live, and the PA profession was created to improve the availability of healthcare in rural and other underserved areas. As a PA, I would be eager to help people have not had access to the care they needed. I want to serve those that need medical attention but don’t have the means to obtain it—whether in rural Michigan, the inner-city of Atlanta, or the backwoods of Arkansas. Making great medical care accessible to all is crucial to improving public health, and it is a necessity across this country and the world. As a physician assistant,
Many people rush through their daily life without contemplating their actions, thereby missing vast opportunities for achievement. They waste valuable time engaging in frivolous matters instead of putting their energies towards more productive and meaningful purposes. In the words of the Dalai Lama: “Life is not about acquiring money and other facilities; it is about dedicating your life to helping others as much as you can.” The immeasurable value of helping others has been engrained in me since childhood. As a result of my own difficult family circumstances, I have become more sensitive, kind and mindful towards others and their own situations. I have developed a passion for helping others, which, in combination with a proclivity towards medicine has lead to my descion to become a Physician Assistant. I want to live a life where I can provide healthcare and aid to anyone who needs.
I chose a career as a medical assistant because of the rewards I knew I would experience on a daily basis. Seeing a patient smile because I have helped them understand, or just making them feel comfortable with their visit, is just one of the many perks of my job. Upon graduating from an accredited college such as The College of Health Care Professions (CHCP), I now work for one of the most reputable hospitals in my area. Within two short years of committed studies, I obtained my associate of applied science degree, and then went on to obtain my certification as a medical assistant. There is nothing I have found more fulfilling, strong, secure, or rewarding then choosing to become a medical assistant,

“Nurses don’t wait until October to celebrate Make a Difference Day — they make a difference every day”, explains an unknown author. My main source of inspiration to become a nurse comes from an innate desire to help people and care for them in times of need. I am also a person who thrives on being challenged and I always have new goals to achieve, so nursing suits me as few other careers offer as much diversity and learning opportunities so, attending Virginia Commonwealth University is something that has been my desire for the longest. The intentions that I have for when I become a nurse practitioner are to aid and care for the sick, as well as I am able but also to assist doctors and staff as well as I am capable.

Today, I am currently taking classes required for my major Mechanical Engineering. I am also trying to transfer out of CCC to one of the top engineering UC’s. I no longer have the desire to chase a music career but I still want to improve my music skills and help people who are in need. From what I learned throughout my years of school is that life sometimes give you a lot of opportunities. It is your responsibility to choose which opportunity is the best and that you have to be determined to get over obstacles to reach the end of that path .
I’ve just entered my senior year of high school. I know that this is a very important year. I have a lot of decisions to make and not much time to make them. These decisions will either make or break my life, and I want to make sure that I make them to the best of my ability because there is no turning back. I need to make sure I definitely want to attend college. The decision is totally up to me. There are many positives and negatives of attending college. Go over them, and then decide. I know myself better then anyone else, and I won’t let anyone else tell me what to do. I will make sure if I am going to attend college that I have something in mind that I will want to do, to succeed in. Choosing a major can be a very stressful situation so why not sit down and take some time to do it? Be creative, don’t rush, give yourself plenty of time and really think about what interests you in life. My major is something that I will want to enjoy, something that I will be doing for the rest of my life. Why would I want to be miserable at something I do in life? In two short essays: “College? What’s in It for me?” by Steven M. Richardson, and “What It Means to Be Creative”, by S.I. Hayakawa, I can relate to my major very well. Athletic Training is something that takes skill, as well as being creative in your own way. No two Athletic Trainers are the same. The more creative I am at whatever I do, the better off I will be. I hold the keys to all the doors that can ...
College is more than meets the eye. It isn’t all about brick buildings, a pretty landscape and a heavy workload. College is discovering more about who a student is as an individual and which career path would allow them to make their best possible contribution to society. Many are unsure of the field they would like to enter until they reach college. As a sophomore in high school, I am still unsure as to whether I should go into the medical field or major in English and play it by ear from there. I have proven to show more proficiency in English than in math or science throughout the course of my academic life. However, entering the medical field has been a lifelong dream of mine, and I am unsure of English related careers. I am positive that attending college will allow me to investigate further into this matter. Attending college will allow me to discover new subject matter that intrigues me and sparks a great
As crazy as it sounds I've always known I wanted to be a pathologist. I was the fourth child of seven. Each one of use had our niche that defined us early on. One was going to be the lawyer of the family, another the mechanic, and another the family sports guy. I was the weird one that wanted to be a forensic pathologist. From a young age I loved problems, puzzles. and taking anything I could get my hands on apart. I was also an avid reader. In second grade I read a Scarpetta novel. My parents stated that when I was done I rushed in to let everyone know, "I know what I want to be when I grow up. I want to take dead people apart!" Lucky for me they didn't blink an eye. They congratulated me and didn't send me to therapy. From that point I became the doctor of the family.
Ever since I can remember, I have always dreamt of a career in medicine. I have always had a passion of saving others people's lives. Being a doctor is meant for me because I love taking the time throughout my day to make a difference in people's lives. I am willing to further my education for an extended amount of time just to fulfill my dreams of becoming a doctor. Others want to become a doctor because of money or prestige, I want to become a doctor to help the people that are ill. My grandmother, who has been suffering from Cancer for 3 years is recovering from therapy. Even though, she experiences skin problems frequently, the doctors are still doing everything in their power to help her recover. Her hair have started to grow back and she is back to her normal self. This is one of the reasons why I want to be a doctor. When one is a doctor, people look up to that individual when they are at their weakest point. When they have no one else a doctor helps maintain a sense of hope for the patient and his or her family. I will be honored to say that I will be the person people turn t...
My major was accounting; my minor, voice. Bookkeeping was a breeze for me in high school and I grew up singing; the choice was a no brainer. Plus, even before I started college all I heard about was how you had to get your MBA to be successful and get into the high dollar jobs and best companies. College was a necessary means to an end and with my di...
