upset that staff secured him in handcuffs behind the back and stated that he was supposed to be handcuffed in the front. I/M Garibay was listed as an Administrative Segregation 3, Cuffed with 2 officers, Behind the Back (AS III C/2 B/B) status. Corrections Officer (CO) Sullivan, who normally doesn't work in 4 Alpha, checked his file and didn't see anything changing the status listed. I was in 4 Alpha escorting facilities staff and I advised I/M Garibay that I would look into the matter later. While walking into the sallyport of 4 Alpha, I/M Garibay started cursing at CO Sullivan and then attempted to lunge forward towards CO Sullivan. CO Miller and CO Carroll, who were the escorting officers, maintained control of I/M Garibay by holding on to his harms and …show more content…

Photos taken of the inmate while in medical. Upon review of I/M Garibay's classification alerts, it was discovered that he was taken off of behind the back status, but it was never properly updated in the pod. I asked Inmate Dennis if anything happened in the hallway on the way to intake and he stated, “No. They just kept pulling me. I was walking but they kept trying to make me look cracked out and that I was fighting. I don’t know why they were doing that. And then they threw me in the cell.” I asked Inmate Dennis if he said anything to the detention officers as they were walking down the hall and he said, “The only thing I asked was ‘why the fuck you grab me for?’”

Antwone serves as a Petty Officer in the United States Navy. He is single and heterosexual, with no children. Antwone was referred to the U.S. Navy Pacific Fleet Medical Center for psychiatric evaluation, after pleading guilty to assault on a superior, non-commissioned officer. As a result of his physical aggression, he was demoted from ships serviceman Petty Officer, third class, to ships serviceman Seaman. Antwone has a history of physical aggression and poor impulse control. Antwone was referred for three sessions of psychiatry service for assessment of physical aggression, anger management, and supportive treatment. At the end of treatment, a recommendation by Dr. Davenport will be submitted to Antwone’s commanding officer, for the purpose of determining reinstatement to active duty. Antwone sees no need for evaluation and states that the cause of physical assault was a result of racial remarks by the victim. Antwone’s attitude towards fighting is stated in his words, “It’s the only way some people learn.”
that there was confusion in regard to policies and protocol which was leading to the unethical treatment of inmates. The confusion, the ethical dilemma, was rectified when there was clarity placed on the policies and protocols; there was no more gray area, now everyone was on the same page. The impact of the circumstances surrounding the investigation of Corcoran was an eye opener for prison officials everywhere; it was a lesson to uphold the mission statement and to place more emphasis on ethically treating prisoners.

John Greco in, The Nature of Ability and the Purpose of Knowledge, argues that, “...knowledge is a true belief grounded in intellectual ability” (Greco 1). Now, this is categorically a 'virtue reliabilist' or more specifically, an 'agent reliabilist' claim. The purpose of this paper to analyze Greco's virtue reliablism. Moreover, to articulate one strong objection to Greco's view and to argue that Greco's defense of virtue reliablism fails. Specifically, the argument will be made that the newly instantiated 'Sea Race Objection' example effectively refutes Greco's version of virtue reliablism.

Earlier in March 2014 the senior leadership of the Air Force, to include the Secretary of the Air Force, the Chief of Staff, and the Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force, made a statement to all airmen. They stated that “being an Airman is more than a job, when we voluntarily raised our right hands and took an oath to support and defend the Constitution, we became members of the profession of arms”, they also said that along with our profession of arms we are given and accept a sacred trust given to us by the American people, that to be worthy of this trust we must “build our lives and shape our service on the foundation of our core values”, and that when Airmen fail to live up to our core values, the reputation of all who serve is tarnished” (letter to airman, Mar 2014). Recently, I was tasked to deliver a briefing for the J3 monthly training day. This tasking was a result of my negligence in updating a certain system that is vital to the J3 watch floor. My briefing, although filled with correct information and guidance, was also slaked with profanity and unprofessional gestures. Regardless of any circumstances that may have been the cause for these actions, the actions needed correction. Correction was given, which was responded to by more profanity and provoking actions. After I showed such disrespect to my non-commissioned officer in charge, he escorted me to my supervisor and my actions were made known to him. During this time I was still acting very contentious and disrespectful, making snide comments and standing with such contempt as if to say “are you done now”. This of course escalated into more serious action by my leadership which very well could have been avoided had I done my duty correctly in the first place. The...
Inmate Astori, in your grievance you state that you want to talk to someone about having TNT or History channel on the pod TV. You state that the only time the inmates are “quiet and non-aggressive” is when an officer forgets to change back the channel after an authorized sports game was on the TV. Your solution if for you to speak to someone about having different channels authorized.
AIG’s corporate culture played a big role in its downfall. They seemed to be more concerned about their own personal gains in the short run than what the effects were going to be in the long run. The company did very poorly and accumulated billions of dollars in the red, and still many top executives were getting paid in cash bonuses after the bailout. These bonuses amounted to almost 2-3 times their salaries they earned before the bailout. AIG’s focus was on the reward system this placed little responsibility on executives who made poor decisions. This resulted in many believing AIG had neither concern nor acknowledgement to changing their ways. Also, shortly after the bailout AIG spent over $300,000 on a conference held in phoenix at a lavish resort. This did not sit very well with stakeholders. AIG executives and upper management time and time again were showing little change in business practices even after the bailout.

Upon my arrival on the scene, I observed a blue vehicle, NJ registration J97FXY stopped in the Court of Deptford 1 lot. I spoke with the stopping officer, P/O Bullock #5248 who advised me the reason for his stop. P/O Bullock also mentioned as he was speaking with the driver his hand movements were slow and he immediately overtaken from the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from the vehicle. After being briefed, I approached the driver now identified as Charles L. Walker 2nd. When I asked Charles if he had any drinks tonight, he slurred “No homie, I’m not drunk and what’s the reason you have me stopped.” During my further conversation with Charles, he started to become irate over he was “surrounded” by three white police officers. To help levitate the problem, I asked the other officers to take a step back so I could speak with Charles. I advised Charles that I was going to administer SFST’s and the first test was the HGN test.
