The love I have for generation is so beautiful it just amazes me how intelligent and how kind my generation is. It seems to me that we have kept all of the morals that were passed on from generation to generation. The way kids speak to the parents in a manner just amazes me. The respect that they show for others around them. it's incredible how the view of love has been untouched like a virgin.the morals of our generation are very highly appraised.
Love is something we all want in our life and it seems to me that women and men have followed every rule in the book to make sure that everything people say don't get to them. I've started to realize it's okay to have two people you love, that it's okay that they don't know about each other. Another think it's definitely okay to lie to each other only if its to protect your loved one so I think we should really follow these way cause let me explain if you have two people you love the more attention you get. Remember not to mix their names up cause that's just not nice they are both unique in their way and we need to cherish their uniqueness. We do not always have to tell them the truth because we love them so much we

I sit in class and was as how kids talk to their teacher with so much respect i just imagine how they speak to their parents. I think that we should reward these kids so that they know how wonderful they are doing and do like their parents and let them get away with everything they want just because they are good kids. Oh and the morals they live by make me want to change mine makes me believe everything I was raised upon was so wrong. This generation is the greatest from all the others let me tell you, we follow every rule, we respect everyone in this community and the way they look at love takes me back to old romantic
In the article “It’s Not About You” by David Brooks, Brooks takes a different perspective on this current generation. Many of the past generation huff at the thought of the new age group. Brooks has an incredible, somewhat biased opinion relating to the new generation, which is not unusual since he is from the current generation. Brooks discusses and explores the idea that the current generation is expected to grow up, get educated, get married and then have children. Brooks speculates that the new generation will be less family-orientated and maybe more adventurous and more about just living life and getting to experience things. Overall, Brooks wrote something different from most stories regarding generations.
We have grown and are now able to prove older people wrong. Our generation is full of new experiments and we are now able to do what they were never able to do. As Thoreau said, old deeds for old people and new deeds for new. This simply says that we have a better understanding of our things, such as technology, texting, riding a bike, and simple jobs. Meanwhile
Since both authors can relate to both age groups, they have written this article to describe the reasons behind Gen Y’s characteristics and allow older generations a chance to understand their younger counterparts. The article is written not towards Gen Y but instead is written for their critics. Since the article allows readers inside the lives of Gen Y members, it is directed at people who do not already understand this generation and all it has to offer to the world. The authors’ knowledge of the criticisms that Gen Y faces allows them to portray their purpose to intended audiences. They do all of this while remaining mindful of older generations that work full time and live busy lives by breaking the article up with headings and subheadings that allow readers to read only sections at a
The Jim Crow system was a post-Reconstruction series of legislation that established legally authorized racial segregation of the African American population of the South soon after the Civil War. The Jim Crow system ended in the 1950s with the beginning of the Civil Rights Movement. As Hewitt and Lawson note, “these new statutes denied African Americans equal access to public facilities and ensured that blacks lived apart from whites.”
Mark Bauerlein the author of The Dumbest Generation, claims that people under thirty are the dumbest generation in modern history. Many people call us the dumbest generation because we have the Internet. The Internet does not make our generation “dumb”, it makes us one of the most advanced generation yet. There is much evidence to support both side however it is clearly evident that this generation is not the dumbest.
Growing up my parents always taught my sister and I that we should always be grateful for what we had. Take care of all our toys and expensive things that they brought us. They taught us that you have to work hard for what you want and nothing is handed to you. Even though me and my sister always got what wanted we also knew that we worked for it and that made getting it even better. I believe my parents raised me pretty good. I always respected them and knew my limits, me and my sister had chores we had to do and if they weren't done by the end of the week we would have a consequence. This taught us responsibility and that in the real world if you don't do your job you would be fired or there would be a consequence you would have to pay. Lately I have noticed that a lot of kids in today's society are very ungrateful. They feel entitled and believe that they shouldn't have to work for anything. They think things should just be handed to them without any questions asked. I think I have a way to stop this rising trait in today's youth.
When the youth of today are looked at, one often wonders if they have good moral virtues or habits. Some of the older population are often heard saying that teens or kids of today have no respect for people or property and they have no manners. So essentially, these elders are saying that children are not being raised to have proper values or morals in life. However, is this caused by the children, or by those who raise them? Better yet, is the so-called lack of morals brought on by how our society has evolved?
In 1989, researcher Alexa Albert developed an interest in public health, specifically the AIDS and HIV crisis and how sex workers played a role in that national crisis. When diving into the data and literature surrounding the world of legalized sex work in Nevada, Albert noticed that despite the significant daily client interactions, the spread of HIV and AIDS was nonexistent. Albert was curious about this phenomenon and decided to write to George Flint, the executive director of the Nevada Brothel Association, to see if it would be possible to conduct research inside a legal Nevada brothel. However, due to the highly taboo nature of sex work and vulnerability of sex workers, it took years until Flint responded and allowed Albert to actually
In Renee Wilson’s article, “In Defence of the iGeneration” (2013), she explores her belief of the iGeneration being the smartest generation yet. Through the use of many anecdotes, Wilson reflects on her experiences of teaching the iGeneration and their ability to ignore negative criticism and still show their full potential. In her article, Wilson discusses the iGeneration’s reliance on technology and social media; however, she does not engage the disadvantages of technology, in particular laptops in the classroom, which, as I argue here, is in need of more study. In this essay, I argue that the use of laptops by students in a university classroom is distracting not only to the student, but also to surrounding students. Inevitably, multitasking and distractions in the classroom will result in a decline in academic performance.
Every person belongs to a generation: you associate yourselves with a particular set of people usually based on age such as “Baby Boomers” from 1946 to 1964, “Generation X” from 1965 to 1979, and “Millennials” from 1980 to 2000, (Smola, 364). Parents’ generations differ from their children, and sometimes within their significant other. My parents, separated by two years, are both considered “Baby Boomers”, and my sister and I, also separated by two years are both considered “Millennials”. “Generation X” separates our generations, and as you can assume there are many differences between the two: “Baby Boomers” experienced the immense development of the economy and education (Kupperschmidt, 4).
In his May 2013 editorial for Time Magazine, “Millennials: The Me Me Me Generation,” Joel Stein explains his viewpoint on millennials, defined as people born 1980 through 2000. Using an occasionally humorous tone, Stein summarizes the typical bleak view that older people have for the younger generation, before offering what he believes is closer to the truth. In the end, he decides that while millennials are not without their flaws and vices, a lot of the fears that older people are mostly due to the advanced technology that we are now dealing with. By the end of the article, it is my opinion that Stein makes a very fair summarization and is correct in his idea that to write off the entire generation is unfair towards younger people.
generation different from your parents’ generation? Use specific reasons and examples to explain your answer.
Generation X is a group of individuals that was born in the years of 1964-1980. This very interesting generation is a generation that is often forgotten. Reasoning being is because of how small this group is. During the time that this group of people was growing up their parents, the Baby Boomers were at large in the workplace. Layoffs were on the rise and the job market was very competitive. This led to one of the nicknames of this generation which is, “Latchkey Kids” (Zemke 2013). This term was instituted in order to define what was happening in the home of this generation. Due to their parents having to work hard in order to keep their jobs as well as food on the table, the children were often given keys in order to come home from school and take care of their siblings. Surely this type of parenting was not pleasant to either the parent or the child; however the money had to be made.
The generation that I was born into can sometimes be easily misunderstood by those in earlier generations. The individuals in my generation get thrown many different labels such as those that Rosie Evans (n.d.) listed in her article, “Millennials, Generation Y, the Lost Generation, boomerang kids, the Peter Pan generation…” and more. This can impact us as a whole because some will begin to live by the labels, in some cases that can be negative but in others it may be beneficial. Many people in this generation believe that they can’t reach their full potential due to labels and prejudgment, while there are others believe nothing can hold them back. When we get labeled all together that is also what may drive some to try to stand out from the
To be partners in life, and to be happy in the union, couples should be open and honest, love and respect each other. This should be the "way of the world".
