• I will model and guide the students through the discussion on the carpet. I will have an “I love Ice cream” chart that shows our shared thesis statements for the students top look back on if needed. I will then have another chart that shows what an essay should look like with different paragraphs and reasoning’s.
Tuesday
• I will model in front of the class how I chose the topic of my dad. I will also model how I come up with supporting ideas about why he is important to me. All of this will be written down in my writing workshop notebook and shown under the document camera.
Wednesday
• I will model my thinking in front of the class when answering the questions posed in the lesson. I will have my writing notebook out in front of the class
and jot as I am thinking. This will be under the document camera for all to see. I will also probe students with questions to help them explain thoughts to their partners more efficiently. Thursday • I will mode for the class how to use elaborate prompts to talk back to your ideas. I will turn to my own writing shown on the document camera and pick parts to elaborate on. I will ask myself “The important thing about this is.” And “An example of this is.” Or even “I used to think that… but now I think that..” This will help students understand how to linger on their ideas more by elaborating on them and thinking them out.
This task should be fun and interesting for the students. It is my hope that this activity proves to be successful for my students and helps them to understand the necessary learning objectives set forth.
People are sick, and it is because of listeria. Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream is doing all they can do to help fight the listeria outbreak before it is blown up, more than it already is. Jeni’s Ice Cream is safe to eat because they have no deaths from their produce. The news and consumers have blown this outbreak up way more than it needed to be because they didn’t realize that Jeni didn’t have contaminated produce that they could consume. Jeni’s Ice Cream should be doing as well as it used to because they had a problem, they recognized the problem, then they resolved the problem.
I choose head start as my topic, I chose this because I think that head start is something that can really benefit the children and how you are starting them in a positive learning experience that can affect the student throughout their life. I also chose this because when I was in high school I went over to the head start and would help volunteer and it was incredible to see how much the students knew and how fast they would pick up new things.
The objective will written on the board, for students to have a better understanding about what they will learn from the lesson.
Ice-cream is one of the most delightful parts of meal. (Jennifer) Ice cream is a frozen dessert usually made from dairy products, such as milk and cream and often combined with fruits or other ingredients and flavors. (Beeton) There are a lot of people like to eat ice-cream because they feel there are a lot of flavor for ice-cream. For Asian country, there are a lot of people like to eat ice-cream due to the hot weather. There is also part of people who does not like to eat ice-cream because they feel that ice-cream is too sweet and unhealthy for them.
Students also created a family portrait in class. They were responsible of drawing and labeling everyone in their family. Then, they wrote on a piece of paper, how they family was special or important to them. I gave them an example that my family is important to me because they take care of me since I am the youngest one. It was very interesting to hear why their family was special to them. We also compared
...lusion, I have all intentions of impacting my students in a more than positive way. I want them to be comfortable enough with me to talk to me about their problems and concerns when it comes to education. I will focus not only one education of the intellectual self; instead, social, emotional, and physical skills will be further developed and strengthened. During my, what seems like never ending, many years of education, I have encountered teachers that were both effective and those who were not effective in the slightest. I have experienced teachers that I could talk to with my concerns about classes and those that I could not. When my students are grown and have lives of their own, I want them to be able to look back and feel as though they learned more than what they had to in my class. I want to be remembered as an “effective” teacher.
Posing questions on materials covered and the quality of materials selected can create the desired environment for students to thrive. I want to inspire my students to think outside the box and to ask questions. Society needs thinkers not robots. The classroom plays an important part in aiding the growth of an individual. It is my duty as a teacher to impart knowledge because ideas have a way of changing lives. Examining and discussing ideas with students allows them to move to a new level of understanding, so that ultimately, they may be transformed.
I did the learning journal on class participation and expectations and explained the challenges that I encountered in the class as shown above.
-I want it to be sketched around only four or five topics, and then I will extend it myself as I speak…
The responsibilities that educators have in the education field is to teach our students the basic training skills needed to be successful in the future. As an educator I will be involved in classroom instruction, grading papers, taking attendance, planning lesson plans around activities, readings and projects that will not only teach, but also engage. Without engagement, students are not likely to have a positive learning experience. I will make sure that every child is envolved and no child is left behind.
I will be writing about my grandparents on my mom’s side. My mom’s parents both passed away last year. They were pretty crazy. My grandpa served in the air force. He served in Vietnam, and my grandma actually
The topic that I choose is mental health education for teenagers in school. Mental health is a person’s condition with regard to their psychological and emotional well-being. In schools we have classes focusing upon the physical and educational well-being of students but has ignored the mental well-being. The lack of mental health education results in people not knowing how to properly interact with mental illness both in others and with themselves. Not only is the knowledge of how to deal with mental illness an issue but the stigmatization that has derived from the lack of understanding creates a negative environment in confronting these illnesses.
The one topic that was most relevant was behavioral issues, because most of the students in this classroom had behavioral problems and it affect the way they learn. It was great to see the teacher be patience, and it was very insightful to watch how she handle each behavioral problem that arose in the classroom. Another topic that arose was the different types of instruction, but as discussed early in the paper the classroom that I observed was a direct instruction. During the time spent in the school I gained insight on how to have good classroom management, what method on teaching worked the best, how to teach children with needs, and how to better motivate the children to
Instead, EL students benefit in learning new content knowledge when an instructor methodically produces a lesson with a systematic I do you do approach; while purposely adding visuals whenever possible. Modeling content knowledge can be accomplished when the instructor writes the objective or provides an outline of what the lesson entails in student friendly vocabulary for each lesson where students can visually see. Next, the instructor should discuss what the end goal of the lesson is through hand gestures and changing the speed and tone of the voice to elaborate key concepts. Additionally, teachers should provide visual vocabulary whenever possible. Playing videos, word walls, or showing pictures of key vocabulary in a lesson will help students who struggle with differences in language grasp what is being asked of them more clearly. Lastly, instructor should show examples of projects and essays for reference. This will allow EL students to visualize the end product; allowing them to organize their ideas and
