2 - I Love Airports! An Excerpt from Practical Enlightenment One of the most attention grabbing excerpts from Practical Enlightenment is “I Love Airports”, which is a conversation between a person named Kat who is a participant in the self realization workshop and Ariel & Shya Kane. The excerpt is wildly popular because of the simple issue it addresses. The issue is none other than getting tired of the circumstances that life and people dish out at you and how cruel life can be to you. This is something that almost all of us experience and these situations tend to make us lose temper and blow up. But this issue is tackled in a very simple way as you will see when you go through the excerpt at www.selfgrowth.com/articles/i-love-airports-an-excerpt-from-practical-enlightenment What is to really blame? …show more content…
The analogy that Ariel tells about a loaded gun ready to fire at the pull of the trigger is quiet closely linked with our daily lives. It is no new thing when we see a person venting their anger at something or someone who has nothing to do with the troublesome situation they are in. The one question that is clearly tackled here is who or what is to blame for putting us in bad situations. On reading the excerpt and doing a little introspection, we find that there is no bad situation at all. Life only plays at one second a time. There is no point in living it if we already know what we are going to become and when we will die. When a bad situation does present itself, we must have the compassion and presence of mind to understand that something is merely in the process of unfolding and we should accept it for what it
Some believe the one goal in life should be to maximize intrinsic happiness. If the negatives outweigh the positives you 'll be better off. You may have a dog that loves you and a roof over your head, but if the roof is made of cardboard and food is scarce while at the same time believing you are better off in a grave than some would say you have a valid reason to want death. At the same time, the container theory acts as a countermeasure. This theory dictates that living itself is better than anything bad that could be consuming your thoughts. The value you put on life can determine the grand total of positive and negative points, but in turn the negatives may barely equal the positives. By dying, you could miss out on the best part of life, causing a hypothetical regret on suicide. The very sliver of hope that this could happen causes a desire to reconsider death and this is what typically hold people back. The thought that better could arrive. The thought that suffering would continue is what pushers more people the breaking point. You would be better off dead if suffering would only continue, but who can tell if that would be so unless from a medical professional, even than on occasion, instances of "medical miracles" happen and can turn a person who was once in a vegetative state to run a 5k.
you must not live of it, you must avoid it and stay aimed towards salvation. Even John
I’ve known so many people who have had their lives cut short unexpectedly. You never can really know when your last day is, so why waste it doing things that don’t make you happy? So many people settle for less, just because it is easier and more comfortable. Life is short to begin with, and it can be cut even shorter at any possible moment. I think people should take risks and aim for the things that will ultimately leave them satisfied with their life.
This is the inevitable truth which some contemplate every day. Death for many is something they
Take off with Airplane! The most popular example of a “spoof movie” in the most recent decade, would be the wildly popular Scary Movie series. With five movies in thirteen years, and a gross income of $896,555,030, Scary Movie, and its subsequent releases have been a huge box-office draw. Success from movies of this nature, are derived from the layout of Airplane! one of the original spoof comedies, and certainly still after all these years, the golden standard of films of this nature.
I had to get up really early to bring my sister to the airport this morning. So my edge this morning was really tired I'm pretty sure I was half asleep for it as well. On the way to the airport my Master had me wear my yoga pants and orange hoodie. I had to put rubber bands on my nipples. I also had to put the vibe in my pussy on low with two marbles in.
What I found is that if one were to sit down, and think of their future realistically, they could certainly find an approach on life that will not cause one to regret the...
Nietzsche said “To live is to suffer, to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering.” This quote explains that to survive we have to struggle. This quote is saying that to live and to survive are two different things. I believe these are two things that we correspond in todays society. However, they do not alway correspond. In this instance they do not. Living is what we do everyday, and living takes effort. Sometimes living takes a little more effort than normal and we struggle. When we reach that point in life and we overcome it, that is when we begin surviving. In that moment, we found the meaning to life. It was the meaning to push through our struggles and come out stronger. If we can do that we can call ourselves survivors. Therefore
Up north in the town of Oshkosh, Wisconsin there is a small regional airport which holds the name of Wittman Regional Airport. For fifty one weeks out of the year the airport is used for general aviation pilots who keep their aircraft at the field, a few small airline flights a day, and the occasional visitors who stop by to top their plane off with 100LL or even Jet1 at the FBO. So what make this airport so special to hundreds of thousands of aviators? For one week out of the year this small airports control tower becomes the busiest tower in the world. With 10,000 airplanes flying in and leaving throughout the week it makes for a hectic job for the air traffic controllers.
I am put on Earth with billions of others, and I will find my purpose and where I am supposed to go. Eventually I will crash into the shore, but in doing so I will give back to future generations. Everything happens in a cycle and everyone dies eventually. So I cannot think of why to be sorrowful and dwell on the fact you will no longer be living when you have had a joyous life and made your impact on two people, a hundred, a thousand, or the
With all aspects of relating the meaning of life to ones personal setting, one can find themselves still with more questions then answers. This is one aspect all discussed situations have in common. We may have found a true meaning, but it always becomes questionable as to if the right decisions were made and the right paths taken base on the outcomes that follow. Although one may never find themselves with a true understanding for the biggest ‘why’ question of them all, the pursuit is always life changing. Life has, for most, always been a choice of free will, to do with what you please. Some choose to embrace this fact and pursue meaning never once imagined, and some choose the more comfortable, yet unsatisfying one of someone already travelled.
The development of urban transportation has not changed with the cities; cities have changed with transportation. This chapter offers an insight into the Past and the future of Urban transportation and is split up into a number of different sections. It includes a timeline of the different forms of transport innovations, starting from the earliest stages of urban transport, dating back to the omnibus (the first type of urban transportation) and working in a chronological order until eventually reaching the automobile. However, these changes in Urban transport did not happen for no reason. Different factors within society meant urban transport needed to evolve; points will be made on why society needed this evolution. In contrast I will observe the problems urban transport has caused in society as a result of its rapid progression. Taking account of both arguments for the evolution of urban transport, I will look at where it will go in the future.
Life is not going to go that we want it to, but this fact should not keep us from overcoming fears or conquering any hardships. Family, fear, and a positive attitude can keep us going and assist us in triumphing over crosses that we might bare.
How many times have an average person flown in an airplane, did people ever think what the world would be like without them? Airplanes have provided people with opportunities to go all over the world to experience different cultures and places. They also create jobs for many people which contributes to how they boost the economy. In conclusion, they appear as a more clean way to travel, helping out the Earth. The airplane was one of the most important inventions due to it creating jobs, creating easier cultural access, causes economic boosts, and created less pollution than most means of travel and also has an interesting history.
There is nothing quite like traveling, going someplace new and finding out more about the world and yourself. Anyone can become a traveler it just takes a little bit of faith and courage. Traveling across the world or even across the country is a learning experience. When you are a traveler you see how people live and how different cultures work. It is the best educational experience you could give yourself. You see how the world works in a way no one can teach you. Seeing different cultures and people help build the person you want to be. If you are a traveler the world influences you, because when traveling, you see the good and the bad, and you learn from the right and the wrong. I am very lucky that I am able to be a traveler and see this
