Malala Yousafzai

Malala Yousafzai is an incredible young woman who had to overcome many challenges at the early age of 14. She is now a well known international symbol of peace protests. Malala is also known for the book she wrote called “ I am Malala : how one girl stood up for the education of all women and changed the entire world. In her book she connects with the reader by using several methods of rhetoric. She used similes, pathos ,and logos, which made her story connect to the readers and made people see education in a different perspective. In further lines in this novel, Malala states many things that an average girl would. Such as silly talents, and how she likes the movie Twilight. Malala is relating herself to all the teenage reader who have read or are reading her book all over the world. She is connecting to the reader by showing how she is a simple teenager with goals and aspirations. It indicates that Malala is humble and does not think of herself as superior. Malala represents herself herself as the girl who had an ordinary life, which tells the readers that anyone can accomplish anything and can make a difference in the world. Malala also states, “ I knew i should have been afraid, but i only felt frustration” ( Yousafzai, 51 ). In this excerpt from the text, she states how strong she felt about the entire situation. She could have felt scared because of the attacks and the bombings but instead she felt upset because no one in her town deserved that. This connects to the reader because it makes us feel her pain, and what she is feeling. It shows how all she wanted was an education and yet they kept depriving her from it. This triggers the reader’s emotion by frustration as well because no human should be deprived from their education especially if they are working just as hard as a man would , or anyone else
