Hungry Jacks is the fast food franchise of International Burger King Corporation in Australia. This franchise of fast food is famous for its quality and quick service in the restaurant. It is working in Australia from the year 1971 when it opens its first store in Innaloo on 18th April, 1971. During the year 1990 changes were made in the franchise agreement according to which Competitive Foods were allowed to own the Hungry Jacks franchise ("Hungry Jack's - About Us", n.d.). The success and growth of the Hungry jacks has proved that moving towards under a single brand name is much more beneficial for the business. Then the target market of the Hungry jacks is defined demographically. The main targeted customers of the Hungry Jacks is single men between the age of 21-34 who have no female partner and also does not know how to cook("What is Hungry Jack's target market", n.d.). The Hungry Jacks has a broad market which includes children, adult, seniors, teenagers but the main focus is on the teenagers and adults. Now Hungry Jacks has added a new segment of the market which is female section as their new campaign advertisement during 2012 they have shifted their focus on female section and for that they introduced new slogan "nothing naughty about it"(Hicks, …show more content…

To target the children they introduced different menu that are children's favorite. Hunger Jacks is also focusing on the pricing policy as they charge normal price to increase its number of customers by increasing their affordability. Provision of the friendly environment at restaurant is their basic strategy to make happy its customers. Then Hungry Jacks has come together with iPhone App through which customers within the range of one kilometer can get food item free on shaking their mobile ("Great Strategy Marketing: Hungry Jack's Implements Shake and Win App for Freebies", 2012). To increase their marketing Hungry Jacks are also involved in sponsoring various schools, community, local charity and sports event ("Hungry Jack's - Sponsorship", n.d.). The position of Hungry Jacks in Australia is not as the leader of the fast food industry because they are most probably following the MacDonald although they are coming in the competition of MacDonald but most of their strategies are considered similar to MacDonald so their market position is the "market followers". The share of Hungry Jack in the Australian market is only 5.9 percent which means it is not a market leader yet (Heffernan, 2015).
