Good morning everyone. My name is Ashley Crowther and I believe most of you know that Jim Saddler worked for me in taking care of my sanctuary for birds. Mr Saddler has asked me to say a few words on behalf of him and his friends on this very sad day. It is with great sadness that I stand in front of you today to celebrate the life of my friend. Jim’s life was taken away from us too soon and it is hard to understand why tragic things like this happen to such good people. However, this is a question without an answer and we should not dwell on the loss of our dear friend, husband, son and brother. Today let’s celebrate his life and remember all of the remarkable things Jim accomplished and how wonderful his life was. Jim Saddler was the eldest …show more content…
He made the birds sound so special that you sat next to him awestruck about the presence of these birds and how they came to be. When I first met him, he portrayed a deep interest for birds and I was really elated to build my own sanctuary and also have him as my main man. Jim started working at my bird sanctuary after I saw his interest in birds and he quickly became my most valuable worker and friend. He enjoyed the serenity of the sanctuary and the wonders of nature that held. As some of you would know, he would take my friends and I on tours around the lake and proudly share his knowledge about the birds he saw. But this was disrupted by the outbreak of the First World War. He was taken from all of us, in the calmness of Queensland to the horror and absurdity of the trenches. It is hard to believe that someone so young and so ready for life could be taken from us in a cruel way. Jim knew what was to come for him. He was ready to fight for his country and fight through the experiences of war. Jim was such a strong person through and through, from character, personality and
James Arthur Kjelgaard, otherwise known as Jim, was born December 10, 1910 in New York, New York as one of six children. Most of his childhood was spent growing up on a farm in the Pennsylvanian mountains. He was a writer and conservationist who loved animals and nature; one of his greatest loves was dogs. After marrying his wife, Kjelgaard’s most famous novel was published, Big Red; it was the story of a loyal companionship between a man and dog (Zietman). He combined personal experiences from his boy-hood with the animals he loved; he wrote many popular children’s stories before his tragic death at age forty-eight (Olendorf).
Firstly Jim had tough decisions to make like 2 days before the launch when he was told that ken could not make the trip. He had two choices, to either be sentimental and stand for his friend ken and risk his whole crew being dropped or drop ken and have him replaced and still go on the mission. It was tough for him but the question of whether he had the safety of the crew members in mind or the mission that guided his decision to me i would say he was a
Individuals have their own unique perception of beauty. In 1813, John James Audubon got to experience the extremely rare phenomenon of seeing incredible masses of pigeons in flight. In 1974, Annie Dillard witnessed a similar occurrence as Audubon, with the exception of the flocks that she came across consisting of starlings. Both writers recorded their engagement with the birds. Both writers also grasped the splendor of the spectacle, expressing it to being “extreme” and “unexpected”. The only occasion that the two writers’ perspectives correspond to each other is their recognition of the beauty that was within the wonder that they witnessed. Although both Audubon and Dillard realize the magnificence of the phenomenon, their general outlook and how they are affected by their experiences differ.
Just like Jesus Christ, Jim was the perfect man who taught all the other soldiers to find peace, good, and inspiration inside every one of them. None of the soldiers had any grudge against Jim, and vice versa. Even the death of Jim symbolizes the death of Jesus Christ. His spare figure was erect; his bloody hands were quietly at his side. The position standing up with his bloody hands symbolizes the crucification of Jesus Christ.
Good evening. I would like to begin by welcoming each and every one of you to this joyous and stressful occasion.

Morrison was born James Douglas Morrison. It was only six months after Morrison was born that his father was shipped off and served throughout the remaining years of WWII, during that time his mother moved in with the Admiral’s parents in Clearwater, Florida. Jim never saw his father until the age of two. Jim later had a sister and a brother. The most memorable events he experienced in life happened at the age of five. It has been said that, during a family trip in, Jim came across the sight of an accident while traveling in the desert. Jim wrote and spoke of the event on several occasions, he even included it into his music, including “the ghost song: “Indians scattered on dawn’s highway bleeding, Ghost’s crowd the young child’s fragile egg-shell mind.” He spoke that while the incident was realized the Indian’s stayed bleeding to death, and there was no medical help that could help, and even as a small child, he was extremely afraid as his famil...
I’m glad we have Maurice, my mother’s younger brother here today. Ella, her older sister, unfortunately couldn’t make it, but I know the news of my mothers death hit her hard. And I know that she prayed with all her will, for my mother.

Children who experience child abuse and neglect are 59% more likely to be arrested as a juvenile, 28% more likely to be arrested as an adult, and 30% more likely to commit violent crime. Child abuse is an epidemic in America; it has affected so many homes. Over 2.9 million cases of child abuse are reported every year and sadly not all of the cases are strong enough to get the child out of the home. The book definition of abuse is mistreatment or purposefully harming someone physically or mentally.
When I was three years old, I spent my summer in a pond by my home chasing frogs and snakes. When I was five years old, my mother found me sleeping under a mare with her foal. When I was fifteen I spent my spare time working for a family friend’s thoroughbred farm. However, my first love for animal care was born when I was nineteen when I first held an owl. I was an extremely fortunate child to grow up in the Maine wilderness as I did, learning to marvel at the raw beauty of nature at a young age. I attended a nature themed summer camp every year throughout my youth, learning about the sciences of soil and water systems and how they impacted the animals around them. I took every opportunity to immerse myself in animals at any opportunity, from
