Methodology
The aim of the project is to increase the power of bike by employing an electric supercharger.
Steps performed:
1. We procured the Hero Honda Cd Dawn as the bike for our Supercharger Project from Faridabad (belongs to one of our Group member).
We also needed the following components/ materials-
• Turbo
• Motor
• Battery
• Sprockets set
• Air Filter
2. After Procurement of above materials, We mounted the supercharger and the motor on the bike by constructing a 3 frames
• Frame for mounting the Turbo Hub On the Bike Frame
• Frame for clamping the motor to the bike frame
• Additional frame for Turbo to reduce Vibrations on Operation
We decided to use L-Iron bars for the making the frames as it is easily available and can support more load. We took accurate dimensions using Vernier Callipers and meter scale and designed a CAD model of the frame. Then we took the model to a fabricator for the fabrication work.
Cutting L-Iron to make frame members
Markings for screw holes
Welding members together
Drilling Holes for Screw
Grinding Excess Weld Metal
Completed Frame
Turbo Fixed With the Frame
3. Next we had to mount the gears on the turbo and the motor shaft.
The turbo shaft was heated and the nylon gear was slipped on the shaft and was fixed on it, as welding and other machining operation would have damaged the tubo shaft and rendered the turbo useless.
4. Construction of Motor Frame
The motor Frame was Designed and Fabricated at Welder shop.
The Final frame for supporting the Turbo assembly was welded at bike frame.
Clamp for holding the Motor
5. The frames were welded to the bike chassis to hold the assem...

Also we found that the chain drive performed better than nylon gears as it did not incur any wear and tear.
The fuel consumption of the bike was increased slightly but the overall power delivered per unit fuel consumed was increased significantly. The best performance was achieved if the supercharger was operated after the bike crossed 60 km/h speed.
Using this process theoretically we were able to get an increase of 2hp which is a 27% increase in power as per the calculations made. Practically we gained 35 km/h with the supercharger.
As the trend of high speed vehicles catches on in India the applications of this supercharger will increase significantly. This technology allows us increase the power of a bike without making any significant changes to the engine itself. It also allows us to make the engines smaller without having to compromise on the power.

...e fuel and air and then again the sparkplug provides a spark igniting the mixer creating the power stroke sending the piston back down restarting the cycle. This engine has a lot more compression and just takes straight gas and air. With a the oil being completely separated from the gas. This engine was a lot more reliable because it didn’t spin as fast and never got as hot it lasted a lot longer and barely ever need rebuilt. Just maintain like new oil, coolant, and a new spark plug was about all it took to keep these bike running and because they weren’t rebuilt between each race the bike would be no different than the one they had raced in the previous race thus keep the rider more comfortable and more in control of the power of the bike. This lead to faster lap times more safe bikes and in the end a whole new style of racing for the world of Supercross.
This requires the engine to have a state-of-the-art coolant system. Big tunnels through the perimeter of the engine allows coolant to flow all around the motor at all times and keep the engine cool. The radiator is also much thicker from the factory, and is angled at 45 degrees in the engine bay to maximize air flow. The number one reason why these engines stop functioning is due to a problem with the coolant system.
"You can see that it is difficult to say which is better. The main advantages to supercharging are low-end response and simplicity. The main advantages to turbocharging are efficiency and the realization of maximum power. It is up to the vehicle owner to decide which solution is best for him or her" (Turbocharger or Supercharger).
Harley Davidson’s approach to the manufacture of motorcycles creates value as raw materials evolve into sellable products. The 40,000 square meter plant in Kansas City, Missouri is laid out in a fashion that permits the backward integration of components within the production facility. From the fabrication of parts to the production of engines onsite, a single V-Rod is built by the 1,100 employees of this factory in less than 3 hours from start to finish.
To discuss the power output, first the cycles of the engine itself needs to be mentioned.
HD has chosen the strategic direction of targeting women and the younger market that is technologically conscious in order to increase its share in the first time motorcycle owner market space. With the introduction of the new VRSC’S, and the new lowered sporster 833 L and the 1200 L, design for small riders who want more power, also promoting the already existing HD motorcycle owners to step forward and purchasing a bigger model. HD is in a position of attaining a sizeable share in the first time motorcycle owners, the young males, and females’ marketplace. To target the women and the young market with the new product line, the company has adopted the following marketing objectives: to expand its current market (market expansion), diversify its product line (product diversification), and modify its marketing mix to target women and the younger demographic.
Environmental concerns have been raised from time to time because of the dependency on the gasoline-fueled engine as the chief auto powertrain technology. This has resulted in exposing many automobile users to unpredictable prices of fuel. These issues were, however, the reason for the inception of Tesla Motors so as to bring into existence another set of automotive which serves the similar purpose; but uses another form of energy that being electricity to drive them instead of the disadvantageous gasoline-powered engine. This invention was influenced by a number of factors in terms of their planning and performance (Hunger, 2010).

Harley-Davidson, Inc. has a long-standing culture of relationship nurturing with its customers – of association with its customers on personal levels. Owing to this, customers look at Harley-Davidson as not only a company, but as also a family to whom they owe their loyalty. Harley-Davidson is an example of a company which has a loyal (brand) following and its customers aid in future sales via marketing based on the consumer. The company has been doing business since 1903; according to its website, “Four young men experimented with internal combustion in a tiny wooden shed. Not only did the shed not burn, but the motorcycle they built went on to serve over 100,000 miles” (Harley Davidson, n.d., p.1). William S. Harley in 1901 came up with a blueprint of a motor for fitting a bicycle. Arthur Davidson later joined him, and they then built the 1st Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

There is no doubt that electric cars are the most appealing from of transportation in the world. They provide two of the most important key points of good transportation: reliable and efficient. They are reliable due to their simplicity of their power trains and the advancement of technology they have. They are efficient because they don't use any gasoline and because their motors can pass the zero-emission standard. Even though they may seem like a boring form of transportation, they offer good features that help keep the Earth's air clean and they help reduce pollution.
... model for under $2000 online. I think that with some luck, I could find a CX500TC for about the same price. Unfortunately, the Turbo bikes are much more rare, and even if not more valuable, they are simply harder to find. I recall that shortly after I purchased my bike, I found a CX500TC for sale in Milwaukee (only about 1.5 hours from where I live) for $1500 at a dealership. I was almost having second thoughts about having just purchased a motorcycle, but I think I made the right decision at that time because I am very happy with my bike and I still enjoy every chance I have to ride it. The next time I am in the market shopping for a motorcycle, I will be sure to see if there are any Honda Turbos available for me to consider.
