Despite all of humanities best efforts to be equipped with cell phones, AAA, and even On Star. One may find themselves stranded on the side of the road with an emergency such as run out of gas, engine shuts down, need to jump start or even a simple flat tire. Despite all kinds of emergencies, a flat tire can be changed fast and safely by following these simple steps safety, preparations, and last but not least is replacement.

The first step is to get away from oncoming traffic to be safe. Drive to the nearest distances where the ground is leveled and firm. Safely pull several feet off the side of the road. If possible find a well lit place, such as a parking lot. Put the car into park, engage the parking brake, so that the car does not roll away while the car is off the ground, and put on the hazard lights.

Once the car is set and safe take a moment to, familiarize with the vehicle by digging the manual out from under the stash of ketchup packets and napkins in the glove compartment. Read the instructions on how to change a tire. Afterward locate the car jack, lug nut wrench and a spare tire, which is usually located underneath the floor mat in the trunk. It is also recommended to add to the trunk some work gloves, a pair of wheel chocks, tarp and a 2 or 3-foot long metal pipe which will fit snugly over the end of the lug nut wrench.

After the vehicle is set and all the equipments necessary to change the flat tire have been a located. Place all of the items near the work area and lay a tarp on the ground.
