How To Guard Your Heart With All Diligence

Step one is to realize that all negative, insensitive, uncaring, jealous, angry and evil thoughts and feelings are from the devil.
And we often tend to accept these negative thoughts and feelings without fighting them off like the Bible tells us to do.
It 's one of oldest and simplest strategies of the devil to suggest negative things to us and let us run off with it until it gets out of control.
The oldest example of the devil using this strategy in the Bible is the story of Cain and Able.
Cain killed Able because he meditated on the evil thoughts of anger and jealousy about his brother that came from the devil.
It isn 't a one time thing, these negative suggestions are carefully chosen over time to spark anger or jealousy in you until you can 't control it, you go overboard, then you get in trouble and the devil sits back and laughs when you 're paying the price.
If he can get you to fall for the negative tricks enough times, then you 'll eventually become his puppet and he 'll control you with your own built up pride, selfishness and arrogant behavior.
Years of negativity will lead to many more bad decisions that could eventually put your life in a place that leads to much regret.
This is the same strategy that leads people to murder or adultery and life in jail or failed relationships.
It doesn 't matter if you 're saved and go to church, you can still become a victim of this strategy because the devil will never stop trying to use it on you. The best way to stop negative thoughts from taking over your mood and ruining your day is to open your mouth and talk about God.
Don 't just try to change the subject in your head, that might...
... middle of paper ...
...hands on you.
This is when the devil is on your shoulder trying to convince you to punch them in the mouth.
And you probably could, but that 's not the point.
Jesus specifically said to turn the other cheek, or walk away, ignore it, let it pass and get over if quickly. He said bless people that curse you.
Do good to people that hate you.
And pray for people that despite-fully use you and persecute you.
You 're not expected to be an overnight success.
Because it takes practice.
And you 're not always going to win by doing this using your own mindfulness and will power.
But the main thing in consistently being obedient to
God and not focusing on negative thoughts and not letting your feelings rule you, is to meditate and speak the Word of God a lot more often.
So maybe it 's time to pick up the Bible and start concentrating on the word of God, again.
... of evil against you, for my sake. Rejoice and exult, because your reward is great in heaven; for so did they persecute the prophets who were before you" (Matthew 5:11-12).
Habits of The Heart create a vision of the middle class American life with all its good, bad, strengths and weaknesses. Its examines the conflict that exists between individuality and community in this country, as well as how these conflicts effect our ability to form relationships with others, whether it is in a public arena or our own intimate relationships with family and friends. The very word individualism means to look out for number one, it implies a me society that has lost it’s way from the way it use to be. The title “Habits Of The Heart” creates images of love, faith, hope and commitment to others, a sense of belonging to something larger than yourself. Does individualism really exist, or is it that people tend to forget where they came from and how much they really are influenced by family, community and others around them.
Have you ever felt the urge to know how it feels to be insane. Have you wonder how it would feel to be rid of something that haunted you for eight days. Have you felt the thrill of getting rid of it by ending it. I might be a little crazy but, I strongly believe that tell tale heart is appropriate for the 8th grade standard. “What is the Tell Tale Heart?”, you my ask. Tell Tale Heart is a horror genre story that is about a man who suffers from a mental disease, and he lives with a old man that never harmed him or wronged him. What made him kill him was because of the old man’s eye. “It was like a vulture’s eye” (pg.89) so he stalked him in his sleep every night for seven days just to see the old man’s eye open. His verge to insanity he was not stable. He was already ill, but instead of seeking for help he states that it sharpened his senses. He stated that he was trustworthy (no end mark; reread this run-on

When a person becomes fascinated with a certain object or thing, their attention is irresistibly drawn towards it. They become enticed and overly interested in the object, trying to study it more, in hopes of learning and gather more information from it. However, when this fascination violently preoccupies every second of our time then it is no longer just a captivating interest but now an obsession. When someone is obsessed with something they are devoted and completely infatuated with the idea of that object, becoming powerless to resist the temptation that the object compels over them. It becomes an aggressive fixation and in some cases they may even lose themselves or their own sanity in the process. This idea that obsession leads to insanity is furthermore explored in Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Tell Tale Heart” in which the narrator becomes so enthralled with the eye of his old neighbor, that when he kills his neighbor in attempts to get rid of the eye, he cannot keep himself together and reveals to the authorities his secret, which in turn can be assumed to result in the narrator’s own death. In “The Tell Tale Heart,” Poe uses great symbolism and a distinct style to reveal that obsession ultimately leads to insanity.
Proverbs 4: 23, " Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life"
All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.” (Holy Bible, ESV).
The book I read was call When Calls the Heart by Janette Oke, it has 220 pages, and the genre is Western Drama. The book is about a woman named Elizabeth she had gone through school to become a teacher. She had lived in the big city, but then moved to a small coal mining town in Canada to teach their children. Elizabeth was a very beautiful woman. When she had got to the town she had decided that all her focus would be on teaching school. Then she meets the town's Mounted Police. It tells about her everyday teachings and the hard things she would have to go through to teach them. Helping students after school to make sure that they understood what was happening in their studies. “Thomas needs special help with his lessons.
I have seen this type of behavior in children in various public places. In the case of Monique (p.2) whose behavior resembles a daughter of friends of mind. The only difference is that the circumstances surrounding my friends daughter was a little different. Instead of my friends being divorced, she and her husband had adopted their daughter. She was a precious and sweet little girl, until she hit her teens. She than became very defiant and disrespectful. My friends did what the parents did in this chapter. Therefore they experienced the same response from their daughter as the parents in the book. Just as the parents in the book, my friends could have benefited from “The Nurtured Heart Approach” (p.5) as well. When I think back to the time when I was raising my children, especially the oldest one, I did some of the same things.
As you enjoy this tremendous gift called freedom, stay accountable to God because that's the only way to maximize your potential for success.
I just finished reading Strong Heart by Charlie Sheldon. I will rate it 3 out of 4 stars because it was a look into the possible history of humans in North America, combined with some Native American legends and a slight hint of danger.
the law and not accept him with open arms as Crito tries to suggest. Socrates also deals with this issue by stating that it is wrong to harm anyone and when you harm someone, you are harming yourself. From this, we are given the pillars: no one does evil willingly; all evil is done in
Using first person point of view is significant in that it allows the reader to engage in the thoughts of the narrator and, thus, make a conclusion about his or her character. In Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart," the reader can conclude based on the thoughts and remarks of the narrator that he is deranged and suffers from symptoms similar to those of paranoid schizophrenia. The narrator reveals his anxiety toward the reader and other characters several times throughout the story. For instance, he begins the story inquiring, "How then am I mad?" and states, "observe how healthily--how calmly I can tell you the whole story" (Paragraph 1). The narrator attempts to prove his sanity when the reader has not yet had the opportunity to make any kind of judgement. In addition, the narrator claims to be so distraught with the old man's evil eye that he has decided to commit murder (Paragraph 2). Perhaps the narrator suspected that the man's eye could see the narrator, as he really was - a mad man! Other signs of paranoia are present when the narrator states that the policemen were mocking his horror, when in actuality they knew nothing of the crime (Paragraph 17). The narrator experiences auditory hallucinations, another symptom of schizophrenia, when he claims to hear the old man's beating heart. For instance, he states, "the beating grew louder, louder...the sound would be heard by a neighbor" (Paragraph 11). It is physically impossible for a heartbeat to be heard at such lengthy distances.
