How Hard Can it Be? Homelessness is inevitable. What are the odds that if we all contribute that it would actually make a difference in the world? The chances are slim but just give it a chance. You will save lives and brighten futures if you stop fearing the homeless. What is holding us back? Why do people try to cancel out all emotion while the homeless person is telling their story in hope of some pocket change or a few french fries? The answer is simple, they're scared. They're scared of catching the homeless, feeling empathy, or that the homeless person is going to spend it on drugs. The celebrities that are idolized in our society today don't want to be seen associating with the homeless unless it is for publicity or bragging, with a few exceptions here and there. Celebrities seem immune to the homelessness virus so it's okay if they want to volunteer in a soup kitchen every few years, but there is no immunity for the common …show more content…

They're just people and so are we, they are no better than us and we are no better than them just because we have a roof over our heads. Anyone can become homeless so we have no right to stereotype and judge them. The causes of homelessness are endless and can affect anyone of any race or gender. The homeless are treated like trash, to say the least, they are thrown around from place to place to make an area more presentable and are looked down upon when seen in public. What did they do to be treated as a lesser of a person? No one deserves unequal treatment or to be discriminated against for anything, especially not a path that they probably didn't even choose. While I walked down the streets of San Francisco this evening I noticed something, not one homeless person looked me in the eye as I crossed paths with them.
