There are many different languages that have been used to interpreted and understand Islam throughout early Islamic history, but it is less the matter of each culture and society using translations in their own national language for the study of Islam, and has more to do with the balance in power in those nations and times. The use of different languages in Islam throughout time, allows us to understand the changes in monarchies and power struggles in certain situations, as well as what the rulers of that time found to be of value. However, it was also a portrayal of the most wildly used languages at the time; meaning that, in that section of history, the most common literate individuals, valued a specific language over others, and also wished …show more content…
Shah Akbar had become greatly interested in interacting with Iran, both socially and culturally. This interest resulted in many treaties and business agreements with Iran, as well as the inclusion of many Persian poets and writers into the Mughal court, because of the awards given to the best poetry written praising his empire and rule (Alam 320). All these aspects resulted in the Persian language becoming “the language” of the king and the royal household, as well as the official language that stately affairs, and royal and religious decrees were written in (Alam …show more content…
Persian was also considered as a language that fantasy stories were translated to, with the hindavi romance of Quddusi, called the quest for the magic doe, was translated from its original hindavi to Persian (Behl 186). Islamic theory is also effectively translated into hindavi with words that have translations that were not used for the same purpose at first, but were later adapted and given similar meanings, therefore fitting perfectly as parallels to each other. An example of this would be the instance where the Arabic word Kun! Which was Allah’s first word in creation meaning be, was translated into the hindavi word OM which portrayed the continuity of the meaning of the word be, making it mean be and continue to be, giving the two words, not the same exact meaning, but the same feeling and implication that goes along with it (Behl
The early Islamic Empire expanded by war, and making peace. In Document A: Battle of the Yarmuk, it talks about the war going on between the Muslims and The Greeks. Then Document B: Treaty of Tudmir, it talks about a treaty that the Muslims made with Theodemir, which was the Christian King of the region in southern Spain.

First, the Shah, out-of-touch with what his people wanted, became the catalyst for massive xenophobic and anti-Western feelings to spread throughout the nation. By giving up traditional Islamic ideals and becoming sort of a “puppet” for the U.S. and the Western world, the Shah made a mockery of himself and of those traditional Islamic values, which were paramount in Iran. For many years, Iranians wrote letters to the Shah, voicing their discontent with many aspects of his rule — the spread of the Bahá’í Faith, the collapse of Islamic traditions, and the crumbling economy. The Shah, however, did nothing to fix these issues. Instead, he designed a political reformation movement, hoping to silence his opponents, to introduce personal rights for women, and to establish a sense of fiscal equality. This series of reforms, which appeared to be a blatant attempt to Westernize Iran, became known as the “White
Expansion of the Muslim Empire The Muslim empire expanded vastly from 622 CE to 750 CE. This empire could be compared to the Holy Roman Empire, one of the greatest in the world. There are three main reasons to explain how the Muslim empire reached its height: battling for land, signing peace treaties, and granting stipends. Every Muslim who was in the military fought against other civilizations for land. After that, they made an agreement, or a peace treaty, with the people of the land they conquered.
1941, Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi was officially inaugurated the king of Iran. The shah maintained a pro-Western foreign policy and to develop a strong economic stability in Iran. Many Iranian citizens were displeased with the shah's changes to their traditions. For example, the Shah changed the Islamic calendar with the "Imperial" calendar and he put more limits on the king's power by putting Iran under the subjugation of the United State (Addis).
In America, there are many ethnic groups with many varieties of language. The U.S. was created through many people from different countries migrating to the new states. In the U.S. there is an “official speech” which is in the English language. The language of both these countries is not only different in meaning and sound, but also reflects the way in which the people in these societies live, believe, and function. Religion usually plays a big part in the cultures of the world and is the basis for their beliefs and values.
Iran was included in the territory of what was then the ancient Persian Empire. For centuries Iran (land of the Aryans) was also referred to as Persia, which was the official name until 1935. Fourteen years had passed before the Iranian government allowed the use of both names. Few groups of people today have significant history like the Iranians, descending from the ancient Persians, who possess one of the world’s richest and oldest cultures. Historically, a variety of other cultures and groups had once occupied the ancient Iranian plateau as early as 4,000 B.C.E, with little importance. Beginning by the third millennium, Persia was ruled by some of the greatest kings of all time, from Cyrus the Great to Darius the III, who turned the Persian Empire into one of the world’s greatest civilizations.
1) Muhammad- Muhammad was a caravan trader until age forty when he had a great religious experience. He believed that he had seen the angel Gabriel and had been commanded to teach the word of Allah. After meeting persecution at Mecca, he gained many followers in Yathrib. Eventually, he and his followers invaded Mecca and destroyed the pagan idols in the temple in Mecca called Ka'bah. This became the holiest shrine and led to the conversion of many Arabian tribes.

Iran was a country ruled by the Shah (King), who began his rule in the beginning of the 1950’s. He would help Iran greatly improve conditions. He began to improve relations with the United States securing oil deposits throughout Iran with American companies. However, the shah slowly became more and more dependent on the United States. He began asking the United States for advice on almost every decision he made. Although no such reports were printed in the United States (to my knowledge) there are sources, which lived in Iran and experienced a...
Arabs primarily speak Arabic with “variations in the dialects, words, and meanings in different Arab countries” (Lipson & Dubble, 2007, p. 43). Despite the different variations, most Arabs understand each other. All Muslims are required to read the Koran that is written in Arabic. While they all read this, not all speak Arabic fluently, or at all in some cases. There are some ethnic minorities that speak their own language, and are not understood by most of the surrounding populations. In the United States, nearly 600,000 people speak Arabic in their own homes; professionals and business p...
On the board on Monday morning, there were numbers one through five and they each had a religion written next to them. 1 was Hinduism, 2 was Christianity, 3 was Judaism, 4 was Buddhism, and I was lucky enough to get 5: Islam. Oh, I know so much about Islam culture and their religion, are you kidding? I don’t even know where Islam is. I’m just kidding, it’s not a country. There are many differences between Islam and the United states like our religion, clothes, and food, and becoming a Christian or a Muslim, but Islam is the second largest religion in the world, so it’s important to a lot of people. The followers of Islam are called Muslims. Becoming a Muslim is not an easy process. You must do a long list of tasks. After you become a Muslim you must do everything in your power to try to have a good Muslim lifestyle.
Imagine taking a stroll down the busy streets of Iraq. The hastened commuters, heat of the day, sound of honking cars and tall, first world-like buildings can distract from all of the magnificent things that Islam has made the Middle East to be. Out of all of the religions that exist and have been created in the Middle East (such as Judaism, Christianity and Islam) Islam has been the most impactful in this region. After learning about and analyzing the effects of Islam, it is recognized that Islam has impacted the Middle East through its Quranic literature, mosques and Islamic law.
The Achievements of The Islamic Civilization Islam, one of the most successful religions was started by Muhammad in Arabia and had a massive impact on the world. If it weren't for Islam the world would have been a very different place to live in. Muslims didn't always invent things; sometimes they improved on other people's inventions e.g. the number system, the astrolabe and much more. The first Muslims were Arabs and they went on to conquer many countries.
