In the Renaissance and surrounding time periods there were very stranges rules and ways for people to come into leadership of a nation or kingdom. An example of a strange way for someone to come into leadership, or rather get kicked out of leadership was Charles the VIII. Early in life Charles the VIII was going to be king of France, but because of his frail body structure, delayed development, and difficult puberty, he was dominated by his older sister and her husband (Charles the VIII). This among other reasons kept him from ever taking the throne. After not being able to become king, he refused to marry Margaret of Austria and lost the ability to be in the artios, and wasn’t able to Franche-Comte (Charles the VIII). The strange rules of marriage and politics kept Charles and many other men and women from becoming leaders of their nations. In the renaissance many new forms of came along, and with those forms of art came along the art of a standing army. The first use of a standing army was in 1460 and fought under the rule of king Matthias of Hungary (Matthias I). In the middle of the renaissance England was charged with lawlessness and disorder. King edward IV was crowned king in 1461 and reduced the dismay and law breakers. He also brought back the diminishing royal authority (Edward IV). This may be surprising but there has only been one english Pope, his
The Renaissance period also changed through literature. This new change in literature was important because it taught people to read, write and with learning how to read and write gave people the needed components to do for themselves, different ways to think and use knowledge to better themselves.. Many more people got more chances to read and write instead of the select few. This gave people more opportunity at jobs, gave the servants a more chance for freedom.(Doc.b)

The The Renaissance lasted from 1350 to 1550 and was known as the rebirth of knowledge in urban society. After the Middle ages occurred there was no education, no common language, and no true form of unity within the people of Europe, so the Renaissance was the reintroduction of education, language, urban society and a sense of togetherness within the countries of Europe. During the Renaissance it was important to have more than one important or major tripe or specialty the people who possessed this quality where classic Renaissance man. Many of these Renaissance men writers, artists, and inventors; Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Niccolo Machiavelli, Desiderius Erasmus, Johann Gutenberg and more. Leonardo Da Vinci had an endless curiosity for invention he enjoyed sketching nature dissected corpses and painted he studied things such as botany anatomy optics and music making him a perfect example of a Renaissance man. The Influence of Medieval Medicine on Modern Medicine The logic and principles of medieval medicine shaped those of modern medicine. Never was there a more efficient method perfected, so much so that it remained in history for so many hundreds of years. Today’s concepts of diagnosis, relationships with the church, anatomy, surgery, hospitals and training, and public health were established in the Middle Ages. In the Middle Ages, the modern idea of society taking responsibility for its poor with public health care was established.

...eenth century. Colleges across Europe changed their curriculums allowing specialist learning in not just classical theory but the ancillary arts allowing a larger scope of knowledge and ideas to flourish. Hospitals sprang up across England allowing the development of specialist departments and bedside care giving more time to observation and human care. The intellectual movement of enlightenment allowed medical science to progress but a massive factor in the changes in medical education was the political upheaval of the time. For example the start of the French revolution and the disregard of ‘…ancient régime’ (Book 1, p.379) allowed health care to reform and prosper allowing classical theory and religious interference to be debated. Before the revolution students were ‘…simple spectators’ but the war allowed pupils a ‘…chance to care for patients’ (Book 1, p.368).
The Renaissance time period took place during the 14th and the 16th centuries it began in Europe. The Renaissance was a time of art, open ideas, and new beginnings. Before this time there was the Middle Ages. Then it was not a good time at all, it was full of sickness, disease, death, and the plague it killed almost half of Europe’s population. After the plague slowly decreased the population in Europe started to grow. Lots of new things started to happen. Like Bankers Merchants, and Tradespeople had a new market for their services. People became wealthier and had more money to spend. People began to build much bigger houses and buy more expensive clothes and people became more interested in the art and liturature. People began to learn foreign languages, they read more, played instruments, and finding more that interested them.
A time way back around the 1400s is an era we call the Renaissance. The Renaissance was a significant time period, following up the Middle Ages, impacting science, art, and philosophy, and making way for the modern world. Many think that nothing happened during the Middle Ages since nothing was written down.
The Renaissance, also known as the Middle Ages, is very historic because of the wealth and power that it held. Through economic and political aspects, it flourished into the ripe environment that it is known of today. Although the culture
They inspired many artists, writers and architects to flourish. They helped artists such as Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and Donatello in their works. Also, Raphael worked with the Medici Family to paint portraits for them. Writers were also influenced and they were impressed by the Medici Family. Furthermore, architecture flourished during the Renaissance.
The Italian Renaissance included some of the greatest artists we have ever seen from Leonard Da Vinci, to Michelangelo, and Raphael. The Renaissance took place from the late thirteenth to sixteenth centuries and is know as the ‘rebirth’. The idea that the rebirth of the arts after being asleep for a thousand years is an amazing thing to grasp. This time brought back light to liberal arts, which were on the brink of being extinct. (Murray 2) What is also interesting about art during this time was that most of the art had Christian in its roots, for example, Botticelli’s The Allegory of Spring (Faure 1) is said to have had a Christian interpretation. (Murray) “Every Italian artist, willingly took the title of architect, sculptor, and painter” (Faure 2). At the beginning of the fifteenth century, the Italian painters had asked the Flemish painters for their secret techniques because the Italians felt like the language of painting was one that was always meant for them. (Faure 4) The sculptors claimed their inspiration from ancient works. Lastly the Renaissance introduced idea of individualism, which helped the Italians get away from everything that was going on during that time. Art during the Renaissance included painting, sculpting and architecture, all of which were an important part in expressing the idea of individualism and making art what is is today.
“The Renaissance is studded by the names of the artists and architects, with their creations recorded as great historical events.” - (Arthur Erickson). During the Renaissance many interesting events happened, many occupations emerged, and many historical events would be set in place. Even though the Renaissance did have it's disadvantages such as the Bubonic plague and struggling to get by due to failing crops and no purified water, people should take the time to learn about the Renaissance because it helped strengthened our religion and background information on literature and other subjects, It allowed to evolve in the ways we do things, and it was a very important time and without it we might not be where we are today. First, life during
The transformation of cultural studies from theology to philology greatly impacted art and is shown through many paintings from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. During the Renaissance, there was a big focus change from religious figures to the human life (Class Notes). This is shown through many paintings, like the Crucifixion of St Peter by Michelangelo. This picture depicts St. Peter being nailed to a cross while people look on (Class Notes). This painting does have a religious figure, however the focus is spread out through the people. When looking at the painting, your eye is drawn to many parts, not just one. This shows the change from Christianity to humanism (Class Notes). Theology, the study of god, was the major interest of the Middle Ages. Many paintings depict Mary and baby Jesus surrounded by angels (WorldBook). These paintings show the amount of dedication the people gave to religious figures. This shows the change from the worship of the religious figures to the study of people. The paintings from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance show the fo...
