Dbq How Did Renaissance Change Man's View Of Man

The period of the Renaissance changed a man's view of man. The Renaissance was a new life changing way for everyone in the middle ages for both men and women. A very important quote from the document “People saw themselves in a new way”. The build up of how the Renaissance started and this time is called the middle ages and was a period of time which stretched from 500 ce to about 1350 during the middle ages the Roman Catholic church and the Pope were primary players.For over 300 years Renaissance spread from Italy to Western Europe.The way it spread was like a car moving from place to place. The main question the document is asking is “How did Renaissance change man’s view of man “? One major key term in that question is Renaissance and “this means rebirth”. My main thesis is the way the renaissance has changed man’s view of man and

the way it made a change was a big deal, that is because art and literature really started becoming more interesting to the people and scientific advances were made at the same time.

The way the Renaissance changed a man’s view of art was because in the middle ages the art didn't look as real as the Renaissance art did.

The Renaissance art had well defined landscapes, natural folds in drapery and three dimensional objects or people. The middle ages art was focused on religion and symbolic representations (Doc.A). At the same time the new artistic styles almost kind of mocked the the movements and interest of the new age. That is how the renaissance changed has man’s view of man on art.(doc.A)

The Renaissance period also changed through literature. This new change in literature was important because it taught people to read,write and with learning how to read and write gave people the needed components to do for themselves, different ways to think and use knowledge to better themselves.. Many more people got more chances to read and write instead of the select few. This gave people more opportunity at jobs, gave the servants a more chance for freedom.(Doc.b)

The Renaissance period also brought astronomy. An astronomer named Ptolemy, was a Roman astronomer from Alexandria, Egypt then astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, relied on mathematics he had a very different understanding of how the universe. Ptolemy had use mathematics skills and used the terms “Geocentric Universe meaning the earth”, and the “The Heliocentric Universe of Copernicus which means “sun centered” (Doc C).
The Renaissance also brought along the belief in Astrology, Johann Regiomontanus of 1512 made a woodcut of a zodiac man from the book of physician of Andreas Vesalius 1543, With the woodcut he made a zodiac person and gave each body part certain names to match the stars.(Doc D).
Renaissance did change the society in the middle ages for the better, it started a new way of life for giving people freedom to become their own person gave men and women both the knowledge to provide for themselves. This has only made it keep going to where we are now in a Technology age. If the Renaissance period would not have come about then we would never have evolved to our society today.
