Heitor Villa-Lobodos combined many different styles to form his music. His compositions merged Brazilian folk music, traditional Afro-American music and modern Western music. He traveled around South America as well as Europe, picking up styles for his music. Not only did he create music, he created programs for music and established a music academy. Heitor Villa-Lobodos definitely made an impact in the world of music. Many of his influences came to him when he was very young in his private, home-life. His primary influence was his father, who was an amateur musician. His father would have some friends over and they would casually play music all the time. His father sparked his interest in music. After his father died in 1899, he left home to get away from his mother and pursue his dream in music. He ended up playing on the streets for money and learning more about the music genre’s he was interested in. He studied at the Istituto Nacional de Musica in Rio de Janero for little while, but continues to travel around in different regions. During this time of learning the music, he studied the works of Bach, Richard Wagner and Giacomo Puccini. He began composing music in 1913. His compositions include aspects from all of his interests and influences. This book was written by Machado de Assis in 1908, the same year as the death of the author. Aires Memorial is considered an autobiographical work. It notes a relationship between the novel and the old age of the writer. Without presenting a single plot, the story is divided into several entries from a diary of sorts, featuring anecdotes and episodes that permeate throughout the chapters. The work has the theme amorous idylls and the futility of characters belonging to the Brazilian elite of the late nineteenth century. On November 6th, 1854, John Philip Sousa was born in Washington D.C. His Father, John Antonio Sousa was Portuguese, while His Mother Maria Elisabeth Trinkhaus Was Bavarian. The first instrument John ever played was the violin. He also sang, and played instruments such as the piano, flute, trombone, and baritone. When John was 13, his father enlisted him in the Marine Corps Band so he wouldn’t join the circus, however he did play drums for Pt Barnum, the Circus King. John remained with the Marines until he was twenty years old.
Joplin's talent was revealed at an early age. Encouraged by his parent's, he became extremely proficient on the banjo and gained an interest for playing the piano. After Joplin's parents purchased a piano for the family, he taught himself how to play the instrument so well that his piano playing became remarkable. Joplin soon began playing for church and local social events. By age eleven, while under the teachings of a German music teacher named Juliuss Weiss, Joplin was learning the finer points of harmony and style. Isaac Manuel Francisco Albéniz was born on May 29, 1860 in Camprodón, the Catalan province of Gerona in northeastern Spain. As a child he was exceptionally gifted at the piano and gave his first public performance in Barcelona at the age of four. Two years later his mother took him to Paris where, for nine months, he studied privately with a renowned professor of piano at the Paris Conservatory. An attempt was made to enroll Albéniz at the Conservatory, but the boy was denied admission because he was too young. Upon returning to Spain he gave several concerts and published his first composition, Marcha Militar.
Art Blakey was born to a poor family in the heart of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1919. He was working in the steel and coal mills when he was only fourteen. There were no child labor laws in those times. He had to work to help support his family and put food on the table. Blakey turned to music as a way of escaping the exhausting day-to-day labor of the mills. Blakey taught himself how to play the piano. Even though he couldn't read music, and could only play songs in three keys, Blakey was a crowd favorite a several local venues. He used to make fifteen-twenty dollars a night in tips every night he went. At fifteen Blakey was leading his own band. They were small and unknown, but played at clubs all around the city.

Her well-kept status resulted in Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore offering the opportunity to study in the U.S.A. I listened to the famous Asturias composed by Isaac Albeniz. The Spanish composer is known for his work on the piano. Isaac Albeniz was born on May 29th 1860 and lived only 48 years on this earth dying a week before turning 49 on May 18th 1909. He was diagnose with Bright’s disease which is an old term form kidney disease. Albeniz was a child prodigy who started playing the piano since the age of 4. Isaac married Rosina Jordana and later had three children. He composed and wrote pepita Jiménez, merlin, Iberia, suite Española being his more famous compositions. The Asturias was a piece created in 1892 for piano as a prelude to a three movement set named chants d’Espagne. It was created during the modernism period which was a time change in every aspect of music. a dated of diverse responses in exciting and reinterpreting older types of music, novelties that lead to new ways of forming harmonic, melodic, sonic, and rhythmic aspects of music, and changes in aesthetic worldviews in close relation to the larger identifiable period of modernism in the arts of the time.
Though he did not walk until he was three years old, Mozart displayed musical gifts at an extremely early age. At the age of four, he could reproduce on the piano a melody played to him; at five, he could play the violin with perfect intonation. In fact, with more recent evidence, Mozart is believed to have written his first composition just a few short days before his fourth birthday! These compositions, an Andante and Allegro K1a and K1b, were written, Leopold noted, early in 1760, as he approached his fourth birthday. They are very brief, and modelled on the little pieces that his sister had been given to play (and which he also learnt; the "Wolfgang Notenbuch" is a forgery). The first thing I will talk about is the type of music he is know for which gave him that name. Most people listen to the type of music he composed but next to none know who or how it was composed. There seems to be an abundance of music fans who know little or nothing about the origin of their music. By discussing what he has accomplished it will explain why he is considered to be so important to his type of music.

Inspired by his father to experiment, Charles Ives was an innovative composer who who anticipated many musical developments. Ives's music is utterly inspired by American culture, specifically that of New England. Ives integrated local popular tunes, though he did draw from European for its complexity and techniques. Charles Ives believed that all sound was potential music and experimented with tone clusters as well as the elements of chance in music. Ives distinguished himself from the roots of European music, finding his inspiration in American culture.
