Egypt’s Contributions to History Throughout history, there were many great and everlasting civilizations. There was Ancient Greece with its advancements with math and science, or Ancient China with the invention of paper and uses for gunpowder, or countless other civilizations. But there is one who is at the top, Ancient Egypt. The Egyptian empire was one of the longest lasting empires in the world; lasting for over 3000 years. The Egyptians made great progress in the field of architecture, as well as math. They also had very advanced medical technology and procedures. By far Egypt had one of the biggest contribution to history. The Egyptian were very ahead of their time when it comes to architecture. For example, they built the widely known Great Pyramids of Giza, which are also one of the seven wonders of the world. With no machines do work, they somehow built megaliths hundreds of feet high out of solid sandstone, including the Sphinx. The biggest contribution that Egyptians made to the modern world is medicine. The Egyptians discovered many medical practices that we use today. Egyptians used both mental and physical medicines. If someone was sick or poisoned they would have a ritual to rid the evil from their body. They would also use many herbs to cure their disease which actually worked. For example they knew about the health benefits of the onions or garlic. The Egyptians were also the first people to know about diet and nutrition. They understood the food groups and knew how much of one you should have. Their surgical technology was advanced as well.
