How Biographical Traits of Individuals Affect Organizational Performance
To study the organization behavior, that is to study the people who
form the organization. The success of an organization rests on the
characteristics of its people. Successful managers can observe the
employees’ behavior to understand their individual characteristics,
which helps to improve the employees’ performance. Therefore, the
performance of employees is directly related to their biographical
characteristics and abilities. These factors affect employees’
interaction with others and reaction to various situations in the
workplace. Then how these characteristics affect organizational
performance?
To learn about this, we should first know what biographical
characteristics are. Biographical characteristics are personal
characteristics—such as age, gender, and marital status—that are
objective and easily obtained from personnel records.
Let’s take a look at the first characteristic—age.
The issue about age and performance is quite controversial. When we
consider this aspect, the thought that aged-old workers have lower
level of performance may easily and firstly come into mind. Is that
true? In some work field, the answer is to some extend yes. People’s
physical condition is inevitably degenerating when they are aging old.

Adolf, being interested in art wanted to pursue a career in visual arts, but his father fought with him often because he wanted Adolf to enter the Habsburg civil services. After his father died his mother, Klara Hitler agreed to let Adolf take on his dream of being an artist and go into a visual arts class using the money inherited from his fathers death. In the fall of 1907, Adolf applied to be enrolled into Vienna Academy of the Arts. Adolf failed to pass the test to get into the academy. After his mom passed away in the beginning of 1908, Adolf made the decision to the town of Vienna to try again at being accepted into the Academy of the Arts.
Mark Twain once described his novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, as “a struggle between a sound mind and a deformed conscience”. Throughout the novel, Huck wrestles with the disparity between his own developing morality and the twisted conscience of his society. In doing so, he becomes further distanced from society, both physically and mentally, eventually abandoning it in order to journey to the western frontier. By presenting the disgust of Huck, an outsider, at the state of society, Mark Twain is effectively able to critique the intolerance and hypocrisy of the Southern South. In doing so, Twain asserts that in order to exist as a truly moral being, one must escape from the chains of a diseased society.
The book The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn introduces readers to a variety of ideologies plaguing the minds of Americans during the mid-1800 's. Written during a time where slavery remained an issue in the south, the novel provides insight into a young man 's mind as he comes to understand and question the ideologies of his southern society. The Pre-Civil War novel, Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, is about a young boy named Huck. His mother is dead and his father is an alcoholic. Huck is now being raised by the Widow Douglass, a woman who is attempting to raise Huck to be a successful, educated member of society, despite his many protests. Because of the violence and forced conformity, Huck runs away and unites with a runaway slave named Jim. Instead of turning Jim in, Huck decides to help him break free from slavery.
