Adolf Hitler was the leader of Nazi Germany from 1934-1945. He was responsible for starting World War II and for the death of many lives. This world would be very different if Hitler never rose to power. Adolf Hitler was born in Branay an Inn, Austria on April 20, 1889. He was the fourth of six siblings and the son of Alois Hitler and Klara Polzl. He was three years old when they moved to Germany. Through his years, Hitler clashed with his father on many things, but the main problems were Alois' disapproval of Hitler’s interest in fine arts and in German nationalism. His desire for nationalism would eventually become the main force of his life. In the year of 1903, Alois, Hitler's father died. Two years after the death, Hitler's mother allowed him to drop out of school. He decided to move to Vienna and work as a casual laborer and watercolor painter. To help his love for fine arts grow, he applied to Academy of Fine Arts twice, but was rejected both times. Since Hitler didn't get accepted for the academy, he decided to enlist for the German army in World War I. On August 1914, he was accepted. Hitler was present at a number of battles and was wounded at the Somme. He then received the Iron Cross First Class and Black Wound Badge. On November 11,1918, World War I ended. Hitler returned to Munich, but still worked for the military. He adopted many anti-Semitic, nationalist, and anti-Marxist ideas from the German Workers' Party (DAP) founder, Anton Drexler. In 1919, Hitler joined the DAP. To make it interesting to more people, they changed the name to Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (NSDAP). Hitler personally designed the banner with a swastika in a white circle on a red background. Hitler soon replaced Drexler... ... middle of paper ... ...r, signed to change the United States' mind from supporting and protecting the UK. On June 22,1941, Hitler failed to keep a non-aggression pact with Joseph Stalin, Russia's dictator, by sending 3 million troops into the Soviet Union. He and his troops seized a big area before they were stopped outside of Moscow in December 1941. On December 7, Japan attacked Pearl Harbor and that action brought the United States in the war. WWII began and the Axis Power was against the US, Britain, and the Soviet Union. In 1942, Germany failed to seize more land and they were losing few battles. Two years later the Western Allied armies landed in France. The Axis Power was losing and the war was coming to an end. By early 1945, Hitler realized that they were going to lose the war. For example the German army was driven back into Europe and the Allies were coming into Germany. D

Adolf grew up not having as much money as they would like but still made it work with what they had. Adolfs dad, Alois Hitler was a mid- level customs worker while his mom did not have a job so she could take care of the children. He had five siblings, but only one survived childhood due to illnesses and lack of medicine. Paula Hitler, his sister was the only sibling that survived childhood while Gustav, Ida, Otto, and Edmund. Adolf Hitler was the leader of the Nazi party, Chancellor of Germany, and leader of Nazi Germany. Hitler was one of the most powerful and notorious dictators of the 20th century. Him invading Poland was one of the main causes of World War two. Eventually Germany was finally defeated in WWII, leaving them financially devastated, and politically unstable.
World War II began on September 1, 1939. It all started when Hitler wanted to expand his territory, and he had planned to invade Poland on this day. Then two years later in 1941 Japan bombed America in which is known as Pearl Harbor and General Eisenhower entered America into World War II. America then joined the Allied powers and helped fight against the Axis powers. The major countries that took part as the Allied Powers in World War II was the United States of America, Great Britain, France, and Russia.Their main goal was to stick together and to defend each other from the attacks of the Axis Powers. The Axis powers consisted of Germany, Italy, and Japan.General EIsenhower had been planning an attack on the beaches of Normandy in France.
World War II officially got under way in 1939 when the Germans, led by Adolf Hitler, invaded Poland and violated nearly every law placed against them from the Treaty of Versailles. It was nearly impossible for the Germans not to violate the Treaty of Versailles because over 100 of the 140 clauses agreed on were targeted against the Germans. The treaty placed the blame for World War I on Germany, forcing them to pay for nearly the entire war in reparations. This led to a German economic collapse, a change in the government of Germany, and also the start of World War II. When Hitler was put into power he began invading other countries and dwindling down the population of his own country, leading to World War II. When World War II started there were two sides to the war, the Axis, consisting of Germany, Italy, and Japan, which formed after the signing of the tripartite pact, and the Allies, consisting of the France, Great Britain, the United States, the Soviet Union and China. Some of the United States’ most important battles of World War II happened in the Pacific. The Pacific contained a great portion of World War II. The Americans and Japanese accounted for most of the action that occurred. The Japanese had gained a multitude of momentum from the Bombing of Pearl Harbor, a United States military base, the Invasion of Manchuria, in which they took over the country, and the Invasion of China. After these huge victories and mass expansion, the Japanese looked practically unstoppable, but they ran into two major problems; The Battle of Coral Sea, in which the United States defeated the Japanese, hindering their expansion efforts, and the turning point in the Pacific, the Battle of Midway.

Schooling was one of the main things that set Hitler off in the real world. At age 11 he was very popular among friends. As of well, he was excellent in school. He received the highest marks in all of his classes. Problem was, was that when he hit age 12 he all of the sudden became the least desirable in his school. Then instead of receiving the highest marks he received the lowest marks in his classes. In 1900 his father took notice of this problem then withdrew him from school and sent him to a civil servant school named Realschule. In 1904 he quit Realschule and joined another school named Steyr only to quit in 1905. For 2 years he did no schooling and only art. His dream even as a child was to be an artist but for a short time he wanted to be a priest. When his 2 years of art was done he thought that his art was great so he traveled to Vienna, Austria for it. When he took the entrance exam he ended up failing tremendously. He tried the exam again but failed again. That then brought Hitler to a dark depression and he disappeared for 5 years.
Germany was economically frail subsequent to World War I. The Treaty of Versailles had held them accountable for the cause, and the Great Depression further deteriorated their condition. Hitler still did business with Jewish shop owners in selling his paintings, however, the seeds of hate were planted and would be nurtured by events soon to come, laying the foundation for one of the greatest tragedies in all of human history. Adolf became a drifter for several years after both his parents passed away. Hitler volunteered for the German Army and in his first engagement against the British and Belgians near Pyres, 2,500of the 3,000 men in Hitler's regiment were killed, wounded or missing. This war experience gave Hitler what he needed to one day be a successful military leader. Adolf Hitler joined the committee of the German Workers' Party and entered politics. September 3, 1939 was when the world plunged into World War II. The main reason for the cause of this war was the policy of appeasement. Before the war started, in October 1935, Mussolini ordered a massive invasion of Ethiopia. After Italy attacked, Haile Selassie, leader of Ethiopia, asked the League of Nations for help. In document 2, Haile Selassie, requested the League of Nations help stop the invasion and when the League’s response was ineffective he said, “God and history will remember your judgement.

The party was now renamed the National Socialist German Workers’ (Nazi) party. In 1921 he was elected party chairman with dictatorial powers. He was unsuccessful however, as he was caught and thrown in prison for his actions. Hitler was sentenced to five years in prison, but was only in prison for eight months due to his "good behavior". Hitler had spent histime in jail writing a book called "Mien Kumpf", or "My Struggle" in Enlgish. The book was an autobiography/library of all his political ideas. Because of this book, HItler became well known throughout the world, and was loved by the people of Germany. He was so well known that he was TIME Magazine's man of the year in 1939. While he may have been a maniac, he was also an excellent speaker. Eventually Hitler became second in command of the German Government, where he passed a law which got rid of the position above him.
