Do neighborhoods teach any important lessons? It all starts in one specific place and that is home. In addition, home is where the heart is. Home is where Esperanza became well Esperanza (hope). For example Esperanza has friends who have taught her many things. She will remember her past mistakes and her good memories. Thus, she needs to help the rest of the people on Mango Street. In other words Esperanza should go back to the neighborhood she was raised (home). Esperanza has many friends on Mango Street. Rachel, Lucy, and Alicia are all some of her friends. In other words, Esperanza has a good number of friends. Thus, they all are kind to Esperanza. Sometimes they will be rude but nobody's perfect. On the other hand, Esperanza learns from that her friends tell her. Lucy and Rachel's mother taught Esperanza that Jesus took Lucy and Rachel's sister. She learned that the monkey garden was a fun place. Esperanza learned a lot from her friends "The Four Skinny Trees." She learned that there is still hope when you are growing from concrete(p.75). One happy memory was when Lucy, Rachel, and Esperanza went bicycling (p.14). They all had a great time, and it became one of Esperanza's favorite memories. Her favorite place was the monkey garden. It was a fun place. The garden grew very large. Except one day, Esperanza was trying to help Sally out, but Sally did not want her help. Thus, Esperanza felt ashamed to even try to help Sally out. Therefore, Esperanza cried underneath a tree and fell asleep. Therefore when Esperanza woke up the Monkey Garden was not the same free place
