One quality that is involved in a restaurant is the atmosphere and the positive energy it gives off. Considering the Western theme, they have the restaurant well decorated from the entrance, to the place where you sit. The walls are painted with tumbleweeds on them, with great lighting that allows you to see, and not go blind. The plates and silverware are very nice, as is the food that goes into them.
It is not surprising for an author’s background and surroundings to profoundly affect his writing. Having come from a Methodist lineage and living at a time when the church was still an influential facet in people’s daily lives, Stephen Crane was deeply instilled with religious dogmas. However, fear of retribution soon turned to cynicism and criticism of his idealistic parents’ God, "the wrathful Jehovah of the Old Testament" (Stallman 16), as he was confronted with the harsh realities of war as a journalistic correspondent. Making extensive use of religious metaphors and allusions in The Blue Hotel (1898), Crane thus explores the interlaced themes of the sin and virtue.

The Great Hall, constructed by architect Richard Hunt, serves as the lobby of the museum. It is one of the first pieces of artwork that visitors of the museum come across. The work presents a spacious atmosphere, not only on the ground floor but in the ceiling, through its usage of a dome-shaped glass ceiling. This in turn helps radiate natural-light throughout its lobby floor, which is important because it is the location of the information/welcome desk and is the first thing visitors see upon entrance. Furthermore, the artwork contains floral decoration pieces, ancient pillars and moldings, which are located throughout the walls. The Hall is mostly comprised of gray-color space which allows for the colorful floral decorations and other objections, become more noticeable. H.H. Holmes, originally named Herman Webster Mudgett, was the first known American serial killer. His weapon of choice was the “Murder Castle” of which he created in Chicago. In this “castle”, it is believed that he murdered around 200 people. Holmes only confessed to the murder of 28, but the remains found were so dismembered and decomposed that a number could not be determined. It is also believed that Holmes sold the bodies of his victims for use in medical research facilities. Doctors and researchers were so desperate for bodies in this time that they raided cemeteries. Therefore, it was not questioned how he had access to such quantity of human corpses readily available. Holmes’ “Murder Castle” was a three story, block long hotel. Inside the seemingly normal hotel was a maze with over 100 windowless rooms opening to brick walls, oddly shaped hallways, stairways leading nowhere and doors in which opened only from the outside. Holmes got away with building the hotel by firing construction workers quickly so they could not figure out what he was planning.

1. The philosophy behind the 100% Satisfaction Guarantee is to have the guests act as quality-assurance inspectors by identifying quality deficiencies and reporting them to hotel employees. I do think that this is a good way to improve service quality; however, I am not sure that it is the best way. While it may seem to consumers that employees will try harder to satisfy them, if employees are empowered to refund a customer’s money, they do not have to answer to management, they can just do it.
