Making a difference
Hope, a word that inspires many including myself. Hope is a feeling that brings a sense of possibility of life and makes life worth the while. In the five years of working in the mental health field, hope was and still is the word many hang on to. I believe that hope affects the way we think, feel and even at times a way to heal. Hope is what makes a difference with anyone and what I want show and live in my community. Giving a safe place for an individual to share their hopes or their obstacles that causes hopelessness and be the difference of believing in hope again.

Throughout their lives, civilians struggle with keeping hope alive or having the opportunity to be hopeful, and like civilians, veterans and military personnel also have their fair share of demons, where hope becomes nonexistent. Upon graduating in this program and obtaining licensure, I want to be able to be that positive difference. I want to be able to provide a place for these individuals and their family members to be able to laugh, cry, problem solve, create, conquer and win life. I want to provide services that will make a positive difference and can show how hope feels, sounds, looks and be the future.
