The city of Philadelphia is known as the “City of Brotherly love,” however, the City struggles to uphold their nickname. How can this city be known as the City of Brotherly love when we suffer high crimes, high death rate, and most important, the ability to keep our citizen in a proper household. Homelessness is the condition of people without a proper dwelling, a problem that is occurring in Philadelphia. In fact, homelessness is Philadelphia is increasing tremendously. The Housing urban Development issue an article that states “The city of Philadelphia has a twenty-seven percentage poverty rate (590,004 people), where one-quarter of its people in poverty line is homeless (135,701). With one-quarter of its Population is living homeless, majority of the people still refuses to acknowledge the problem that they see every day (Housing Urban Development Coorp.). : Homelessness affects every one of every races and color. Homelessness has been around since the beginning of time.
