In this paper, I will emphasize on the Ministry of the Holy Spirit. I aim to demonstrate the Power of the Holy Spirit and how the Believer can be transformed by the working ministry of the Holy Spirit. Many believers do not understand the Ministry of the Holy Spirit, therefore, tend to believe that they are motivated, and operate within their own power. The Trinity plays a dynamic role in understanding this unique ministry. Therefore, I will communicate the importance of understanding and having the knowledge of the Trinity roles. In the Book of Acts of the New Testament, it is written how the Power of the Holy Spirit comes upon the people of God and lives were changed. This paper will challenge that the Power of the Holy Spirit will regenerate …show more content…
Martinch states, “the Spirit is a Person in fellowship with, but distinct from, the Father and Son. Called the Paraclete in the John’s Gospel, the Spirit is a personal agent, teacher and friends.” Paul speaks of the intellection of the Holy Spirit when asked,” what man knows the things of man save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God know no man, but the Spirit of God”. The Holy Spirit was left here by the Father for the believer help with wisdom and communication. When Paul prayer request for the Ephesians included “that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him.” The emotional ability of the Holy Spirit is evident in the word of the apostle, “the love of the Holy Spirit”. The Holy Spirit not only has the ability to will, but also the ability to work it also. By his own choice, the Holy Spirit accomplishes a number of specific acts, such as giving spiritual gifts. “But all these worked that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.” The Holy Spirit performs the actions of a person. One of the problems associated with emotions is the possibility of being grieved by someone who is loved. The Bible warns Christians, “Grieve not the Holy Spirit of God.” Charles Stanley writer of, Living the Extraordinary Life states, “you can walk in victory because Jesus is your example, and His Spirit lives in you, God gives you strength and power too through the Presence of the Holy Spirit.” These are just a few of the characteristic of the Holy Spirit, with that being said, we need to take a look at the action of the
The doctrine of the Holy Spirit begins with examining biblical witness to the work of the Holy Spirit in the history of Israel, as well as the ministry of Jesus, and in the life of the church. During the creation account it was the breath of God that grave life to all creation. The Holy Spirit has been a primate actor sin the beginning of time. While the Spirit was present prior to the ministry of Christ, the New Testament speaks in greater detail of the Spirit because it empowered Jesus. From his conception to the day of Pentecost the Sprit was present and active in the life of Christ and the believers. We see in ...

The Godhead is the most powerful force known to man. The Godhead is commonly known as the "Trinity". The Latin word is "trinnatos" meaning three-fold. The Godhead is one entity with three different functions. God, the Word (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit make up the Godhead. We will discuss the Godhead: God, the Word (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit.
The Spirituality of the Congregation of the Daughters of Divine Love is “Divine Love in action, expressed in the contemplation of God, deep fraternal love and apostolic action” This Spirituality of the Congregation moves to the second ministry of Jesus, the ministry of presence. An important fact about Jesus’ preaching is that his fundamental message was not only verbally articulated but actually lived, that is put in action. Jesus was what he preached. His integrity did not allow him to say one thing and do the opposite.
Christianity religion is the world’s largest religion, one of the largest religion ever existed with over 2.4 billion followers, or %33 of the global population known as Christians. All of the Christians believe in the Jesus as the Son of God and the Saviour who is coming as the Messiah promised in the Old Testament. Christianity itself also had a big role in creating the Western civilization, a term that used to refer to a property that was inherited of social norms, ethical values, traditional customs, belief systems, political systems and specific artifacts and technologies that have some origin or association with Europe. Coming back to their beliefs, “This monotheistic religion is based on the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth who later became
The Holy Spirit gives us power to make things possible. Jesus said in Acts 1:8, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” The power enabled the apostles to heal the sick (3:1-10, 5:15-16, 9:32-35) and raise people from the dead (9:36-43). The power also enabled them to speak the truth boldly (4:1-14, 7:1-53,
There are many different religions in the world that most people do not have a clue about or have never even thought about looking into. The average person grows up and believes whatever they were born into. For example, if you’re Christian typically that’s your religion the rest of your life without even considering practicing something else. Exploring different religions and their practices could make decide to change your faith. Additionally, there are those people who judge other religions without having experienced that specific religion. For me one of those religions I never fully understand or thought about is Hinduism. I found the idea of a god for everything to be interesting but have never thought of experiencing one of their services. Which is why for my religious experience I chose to visit Manav Mandir, a Hindu temple.
What comes to mind when I first hear or see the words, Blessed Be, is that the person stating them wishes blessings on someone or for another person to be blessed. The word blessed comes from the 12th century. It’s basic meaning is: supremely happy, delightful, holy, or consecrated. It’s root word bless comes from Old English bletsian, bledsian, and Northumbrian bloedsian which means to consecrate by a religious rite or word, make holy, or give thanks.
In this paper, I wish not to exalt or boast in my self, for nothing good can come from man. Our Lord our God is so set apart, so divine that our finite minds cannot understand or comprehend spiritual matters. Even though we are torn in our mindset, split between our pre-existing flesh. As well as our new and reborn minds and eyes set into place by the promise of love by the blood, with the marriage of the Holy Spirit. In this paper, I wish to express the mystery of the Holy trinity, from the past to now in the present. Knowing that the promise and the mystery of God, is still the same since the start of time, till now, and to the end of the world.
As a student at the University of Portland, who has now spent a semester living amidst the Catholic culture, I have started to think about religion fundamentally different than prior to this year. Theology class has been enlightening. In class, a new external lens of how one can view faith while learning to think critically in the search of truth has been presented. The inquisitiveness in me has led me to ask hard questions regarding myself, my perceptions, my misconceptions, and even some heartfelt convictions while contemplating my faith. I have experienced legitimate struggles. I acknowledge I have ignorant barriers keeping me from totally living a life with God and for God due to the confusion of exactly what that means. “All truths are
As my spiritual journey progresses, I daily learn more about my religion. I was baptized in a Coptic Orthodox Church where my belief lays, still eighteen years later. Most of my Sunday’s schedule is going to church, taking communion, and then serving the 1st and 2nd graders, or attending fellowship. When I am in sunday school or fellowship, I hear lectures about what god expects of us, stories from the bible as an example to go by. I attended choir for five years in my church, whether it is during christmas time, St. Mary’s feast, Easter, or the apostles feast.
As I sit and reflect over my life, I ask myself where have I come from, where might I currently be, and what does the future hold for me according to my faith formation. This was a time for me to weigh the progress of my formation that happened over the years and to see the influential players who made it possible. Within this essay I will use two of James Fowler’s stages of faith to evaluate my own life and be able to see that through these stages I can be able to help develop others faith as well. It is through these stages that have shaped my life into becoming the faithful person that I am today.
FaustAaron. Session1.Journal Where my road started to where I am now is full of dark valleys and steep hills. The Lord of grace and mercy has walked with me every step of the way and carried me for miles. He has brought men into my life who have strengthened me and brought His word to me like a two edged sword of truth to open my heart. In this season of my life, God has called me from the comfort, safety and predictability of my normal life and step out into the uncharted territories.
Spiritual formation is one subject that I like to discuss in that it really helps one reflect on their own spiritual journey and where they are in that journey. The devil wants to steal, kill, and destroy any step forward towards God. He is not after anything tangible that we possess, rather, he is only after our faith in God and belief in Jesus. Knowing this is part of our spiritual journey as fighting against the enemy requires spiritual warfare in which the only one that can help is Jesus. A transformation in our character to be like Jesus is essential to our spiritual growth. This cannot be done without being intentional with our time, finances, and disciplines.
According to Hutchison (2015), “religion is symbolic patterns that consists of values, beliefs, behaviors and experiences” (p. 184). I personal conceptualize spirituality as a vital role in my life that helps me during a time of sickness, forgiveness, and needed guidance. Spirituality helps guide me throughout life during the difficult times I have encountered. Spirituality impacts my life in positive ways that influence and regulate my behavior and health. Health is very important to me; I believe the spirit can heal a person from their sickness. It seems that the spirit heals me every time I pray to be healed from sickness. The spirit gives me strength at a time of weakness. When I feel at my lowest point in life I call on the spirit to pick
