Hermione Granger is one of the most powerful female characters seen in modern fictitious works. She is an appropriate role model for girls growing up as she possesses important qualities that girls need such as wit, intelligence, confidence, bravery, resourcefulness and she’s a clear thinker. Without Hermione Granger’s Knowledge, Harry Potter and Ron Weasly would never have defeated Voldemort (the villain).
On the other hand, Hermione’s character blossoms beautifully. It is agreeable that her character does not match with one’s typical mythic hero and does she not completely follow the “hero’s journey” that defines a hero. Hermione’s origin is nothing special; she is seen growing up in a very loving and supportive family. This is completely opposite to Harry’s tragic childhood. Although, she isn’t magically gifted like Harry, who can command a broomstick to land in the palm of his hand at ease, Hermione has an unwavering desire and commitment to learn, hence the reason why she is so ridiculously smart. At first, Hermione is depicted as outcast for she is a muggle-born, she did not have a wizard as father or a witch as mother, meaning her parents were absolutely average human beings. Thus, she found comfort in books as she is also depicted as a nerd with a
True to the promise of the first book, “there 's not a single witch or wizard who went bad that wasn 't in Slytherin.” (Sorcerer’s Stone) All antagonists are of course included in this umbrella, with the arguable exceptions of the Gryffindors Sirius Black, who was considered by the public to a be a dark wizard regardless of his actual affiliations, and Peter Pettigrew, who was just a sniveling rat….
Hogwarts is made up of four house; Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. The names of the four houses came about from the founders themselves. Gryffindor’s founder was Godric Gryffindor, who believed that anyone who displayed a hint of magical talent should be allowed to attend Hogwarts. The Huffpuff house was named after its founder, Helga Hufflepuff, who was predominantly famous for her knack for food-related Charms. The Ravenclaw house was named after their founder, Rowena Ravenclaw who was apparently dear friends with Helga Hufflepuff and was considered “the most brilliant witch of her time”. Lastly, the Slytherin house.
Roxane explains in this article that there is a perception about feminist that they have to be ongoing and pervasive. In Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone [Sorcerer’s Stone], Harry Potter chooses to be housed in the Gryffindor house despite his potential to be housed in the Slytherin house, due to his foreseen ambition, with Draco Malfoy (Rowling). The house of Gryffindor is known for their bravery, while the house of Slytherin is known for their ambition. Harry exemplifies the trait of bravery in every book through his face-offs with Voldemort, and the Hogwarts’s headmaster, Dumbledore, even recognizes Harry for his bravery. At the end of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Dumbledore says to Harry, “You have shown bravery beyond anything I could have expected of you. I ask you to demonstrate your courage one more time.

he Harry Potter film series exhibit situational, character, and symbolic archetypes. To begin, Harry Potter exhibits situational archetypes such as, The Quest, Death and Rebirth, and the Unhealable wound. The Quest is what the hero must accomplish in order to bring fertility back to the wasteland, which will restore peace, order, and normalcy to a troubled land. Harry is the hero all of the films and his ultimate quest is thorough throughout, to defeat Voldemort, the devil figure, and to save the wizarding world from Voldemort’s ways. Death and Rebirth is a motif that grows out of a parallel between the cycle of nature and the cycle of life. For example, Dumbledore has a bird named Fawkes. Fawkes is continuously loyal and courageous and portrays this archetype well when
the bad. The main characters on the good side are Harry Potter and his two friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, and on the bad the main character is Lord Voldomort. Harry Potter is a courageous, brave, and kind person. The whole series revolves around Harry Potter and Lord Voldomort. Ron Weasley is Harry’s closest friend and is not always the brightest but he is a good person who always stands with Harry no matter the situation. Hermione Granger is a book worm, straight A student who turns every assignment in on time and always does whatever her teachers tell her to do, and because of her skill and knowledge she has helped the trio out of several tight situations. Lord Voldomort is the most evil of the evil. His goal is to rule the world, kill every muggle (non magical people) so that only wizards are left and, most importantly, to conquer death. Through out the entire series Voldomort has tried to kill Harry a total of eight times but has failed all because of his short-sightedness and un-willingness to admit to his weaknesses.

He puts the main character, Lemuel Gulliver, through four distinct journeys, which all inadvertently reveal vices in human society. In Jonathan Swift’s Gulliver’s Travels, the theme of corruption is portrayed through the evils of politics, the deceitful nature of humanity, and the characters’ exploitation of pride. Throughout the novel, seizes and retentions of power are always accompanied by corrupt means. “He had heard, indeed, some curious Houyhnhnms observe, that in most herds there was a sort of ruling Yahoo (as among us there is generally some leading or principal stag in a park), who was always more deformed in body, and mischievous in disposition, than any of the rest; that this leader had usually a favourite as like himself as he could get, whose employment was to lick his master's feet and posteriors, and drive the female Yahoos to his kennel; for which he was This favourite is hated by the whole herd, and therefore, to protect himself, always keeps near the person of his leader,” (Swift 241). Some Yahoos observe that the Yahoos often pick terrible leaders who surround themselves with even worse subordinates to make them appear less abysmal.
Young witches and wizards are all placed in houses depending on if you have certain traits. Ron, Harry, and Hermione were all sorted into Gryffindor. The Sorting Hat said that, “[y]ou might belong in Gryffindor, / Where dwell the brave at heart, / Their daring, nerve, and chivalry / Set Gryffindors apart” (117). The main traits that every Gryffindor is supposed to possess is bravery. They are supposed to be people who are “daring” enough to go out and save the day. They are people who have the “nerve” to finish a task or help someone who is in need no matter what they may face as well. Hermione isn’t someone who has those traits yet. She seems to be more fitting as a Ravenclaw. The Sorting Hat said, “Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw, / if you 've a ready mind, / Where those of wit and learning, /Will always find their kind” (118). Ravenclaws are incredibly intelligent. Their valued traits are those of “learning”. Hermione definitely has a lot of “wit”, but she just doesn’t have the “nerve” to face the things that come her way. Hermione shows this time after time. She is given a chance to show just how brave she is, but she doesn’t do that. She shows that she just doesn’t quite
