The Ultimate Plot
After Hitler came to power in 1933, he always longed for the reign of the Nazi Party to last a thousand years. He figured that he would start with the Youth to carry on his dreams of having the Nazi Party last 1000 years. Impression of Fascism on Youth, also known as Hitler Youth, during the 1920's- 1940's,had over 8.7 million young people enrolled by late 1939. Kids were purposely sought out and indoctrinated to believe in fascism, and were trained to brutally kill. Also, there were other countries that had their own forms of Hitler Youth. At first, there was only a group for boys called Hitler Youth. Under Hitler Youth was a group called Hitler Young People. The main Hitler Youth group included the ages of 14-18 years old. The subgroup of German young people were from 10-13 years old. The Hitler Youth were organized by uniforms, rank, age, and geographic area. A parallel group to the Hitler Youth for boys was the Hitler Youth for girls. This Hitler Youth for girls was called Bund Deutscher Model (League of German Girls (BDM) or the League of German Maidens. The girls’ group was not so much military training or physical training. They focused more on activities to get the girls moving and therefore keeping them fit. Their goals in keeping the girls in the League of German girls program was to teach the girls 2 things: how to take care of their bodies that they are able to birth healthy Aryan children. They were taught that the only purpose of their life was to birth aryan children that were genetically healthy and pure German. They instilled a sense of racial pride into the girls in order that they stay genetically pure German women. They detested greatly any contact with Jew or other hated minority groups. This was not the only object of the League of German Girls. They also were taught to be unconditionally faithful to national Socialism. One-third of the time spent in the League of German girls is spent learning the ideologies of Hitler and his Fascist German State. The ideological teachings and the political indoctrinations played a much larger role in the League of German women than even the boy Hitler Youth or the German Young people Group. Righteous Acts Throughout humanity, human beings have been faced with ethnic hardships, conflict, and exclusion because of the battle for authority. Hence, in human nature, greed, and overall power consumes the minds of some people. Groups throughout the world yearn for the ability to be the mightiest. These types of conflicts include ethnic shaming, racial exclusion, physical and verbal abuse, enslavement, imprisonment, and even death. Some of these conflicts were faced in all parts of Europe and the Pacific Region during World War II.
Hitler’s Last Days is yet another gem written by the mastermind of history, Bill O’Reilly. How O’Reilly wrote this book with such great detail and information will may never be discovered. The details in the book are nothing short of extraordinary. O’Reilly makes the reader act like a US Official reading over battle operations and reviews. He adds personal letters from various officers around the war. He makes it feel like the reader is sitting next to Adolf Hitler in his war room, going over all Nazi battle plans. Although the book entitles the death of Adolf Hitler, it also adds detailed accounts of The Battle of the Bulge and other major points in the final portion of World War II.
The setting was perfect as the people of Germany were primed and ready for any leader that would tickle their ears with what they were wanting to hear. World War I was over (#4) and the people of Germany were in an economic depression that crippled the country. The German mark had lost so much value that it took a wheelbarrow full of money to buy a loaf of bread. A good portion of the youth in Germany were raised in fatherless homes. In an article written by Dr. Alice Hamilton, she says this about Hitler's youth: "They were children during the years of the war when the food blockade kept them half starved, when fathers were away at the front and mothers distracted with the effort to keep their families fed. They came to manhood in a country which seemed to have no use for them. Even compulsory military training was no more and there was nothing to take its place" (Perry et. al 358). Hitler, being the sleazy opportunist that he was, capitalized on this state of affairs. In ways that were not politically correct, he was able to influence this segment of the population and hold them in allegiance to his agenda. "Hitler made each insignificant, poverty stricken, jobless youth of the slums feel himself as of the great of the earth, since the youth was a German, a Nordic, far superior to the successful Jew who was driven out of office and counting house to make place for the youth and his like" (Perry et. al 359). Imagine you are a thirteen year old growing up in Germany, 1938. Some of the kids at school are talking about a new program called the Hitlerjugend (or Hitler Youth). It sounds fun and exciting with its camping trips and home meetings so you decide to join. The Hitlerjugend is just as fun and exciting as it sounded and as the years pass you gain new skills; loyalty to Hitler and German; and growing hatred for Jews, Blacks, the handicapped, and other “burdens of the state”. To you this is simply a thought but to many children in the 1930’s this was a reality. The Hitler Youth was a genius yet terrible organization.
The Youth was an important asset to Hitler’s as they would complete his 1,000 year and help the Nazis last forever. Kids were taught what Hitler wanted them to know and not what he wanted them to know so once after a few generations,
The Nature and Purpose of the Hitler Youth Movement There were many purposes for the Hitler Youth Movement and the nature of it was strict and disciplined so that the youth of the time became accustomed to it as part of their everyday life. One of the main purposes of the Hitler Youth Movement was to turn the young people of Germany into loyal Nazis. By starting them off at a young age (6), these children would be so indoctrinated by the Nazi regime and beliefs that being a loyal Nazi would be the only option, any other would be unthinkable. From a young age the youth were lectured to be loyal Nazis, so much so that pre-school children were taught to love their Fuhrer Hitler and from the moment a 10 year old boy was enrolled into the Hitler Youth, their life belonged to the Fuhrer. This was all part of Hitler’s ideal – the ‘Cradle to Grave’ indoctrination.
During World War 2 there was a movement from Adolf Hitler to make use of the generation to come. He wanted the youth to grow into strong individuals that would promote his ideals and passionately die for them, if necessary. I have chosen to research more into this youth movement. I want to find out more about the Hitler Youth. How it began, how it developed, how they were managed, as well as its ultimate demise nearing the end of World War 2 are all facets I would like to know. Let’s begin with the first showing of a youth movement in Germany.

In the beginning, Adolf Hitler was an unknown figure to the public, but he slowly built his own political ideas as he started doing speeches at the beer hall which was his initial point for his ideas to emerge and advance. Once Hitler thought he had enough people supporting his party, he explicit decision was to take over the Reichstag, but was to find guilty of treason. When Hitler was imprisoned, the Nazi party started to have difficulties and that is when different political ideas were emerging. The Success of Nazi Policies Toward Education and Youth Hitler and the Nazi party had a range of policies to control education and the German youth. This was mainly to ensure loyalty to Hitler and the Nazi party. Some believed in these policies and other did not but it was fear and glory and the fear of social inadequacy that made most comply. Hitler and the Nazis wanted to control the education system and youth by controlling the teachers, pupils and the curriculum.

His ability to manipulate the media and the German public whilst taking advantage of Germany’s poor leadership resulted in both the collapse of the Weimar Republic and the rise of Hitler and the Nazi party. During the early 1920s, Germany was struggling with economic instability and political uncertainty. Germany, after being defeated in the Great War, was forced to sign the unforgiving treaty of Versailles, which the Weimar Republic was held responsible for. This brought forward feelings of fear, anger and insecurity towards the Weimar Republic.

Hitler condemned the Jews, exploiting anti-Semitic feelings that had prevailed in Europe for centuries. He changed the name of the party to the National Socialist German Workers' Party, called for short, the Nazi Party. By the end of 1920, the Nazi Party had about 3,000 members. A year later Hitler became its official leader Führer. From this, we can see his potential of being a leader and his development in his propaganda.
