HISTORY OF THE COMPANY
The very first manufacturing plant that Alkaloid grew from was of the ownership of the family Ognjanovich. At the very beginning, there were only 2 manufacturing plants, worked on by a total of 15 employees (of whom only one had a University Degree) to produce 350 kg of pharmaceutical raw materials. The factory extracted an industrial branch not only locally but in the entire region. The main production was in making opium alkaloids (morphine base extraction).
The main reason for the opening of this factory was because of the quality of the Macedonian opium poppy heads, locally known as “black gold”. Back in June 1945, by the decision of the government-at the time known as the Federation of Peoples Republic of Yugoslavia and of Peoples Republic of Macedonia, the factory became nationalized. Alkaloid continued to grow, making it one of the first successful industries in the Republic of Macedonia.
Due to specificity of its production, among the first years after World War II, the factory was of great significance and went under the direct jurisdiction of the Main Directorate for Medical Production in Belgrade.
On October 31st 1946, Alkaloid registered as a state owned factory for producing alkaloids. The factory’s title remained until 1950, when it shifted from federal level to the General Directorate for the Chemical Industry in Macedonia. At this time, significant steps were taken to expand manufacturing, increase production, modernize technology and improve the level of qualification of the employees.

Alkaloid Botanical Unit:
Alkaloid’s Botanicals section produces a range of teas with brands such as Good Nature, Good Nature Energy for healthy foods, Good Morning Good Nature, spices and dried vegetables, fruits, seeds etc. One interesting fact about Alkaloid is the fact that their tea producers look at tea as an art where they collect one or more herbs to provide harmonic and unique blends.
The advertising budget was increased 0.5 million to convince them Allround is the best. “Chest congestion” was removed as it was perceived by customers as ineffective. We added “minimize side effects” to target families. We increased benefits and reminder to emphasize the changes to benefits, and remind customers of our brand. We chose Dryup as the comparison because it has the best brand perception for effectiveness. We increased the Point of Purchase to attract customers, so we decreased Newspaper Coupons. We created a logo and advertisement for Allround, and chose Facebook and Twitter for the Special section.
Nevertheless, it must “defend” its current market share if not increase it, by maintaining premium quality and develop innovative products. The marketing mix strategies will effectively achieve targeted revenue and profitability in the near future.
The company is also leading the way in innovativeness and has already received recognition for introducing innovative products. This is one of the strengths of the company since innovative products will help to differentiate its products from the other competitor products as well as the new products can be exclusively branded as compared to the other flagship products from older Soviet times.

MDMA was discovered at the end of the 19th century when the German company Merck was interested in developing substances to stop abnormal bleeding. Drug use and abuse is as old as mankind itself. Human beings have always had a desire to eat or drink substances that make them feel relaxed, stimulated, or euphoric. Wine was used at least from the time of the early Egyptians; narcotics from 4000 B.C.; and medicinal use of marijuana has been dated to 2737 B.C. in China. But it was not until the nineteenth century that the active substances in drugs were extracted. There was a time in history when some of these newly discovered substances, such as morphine, laudanum, cocaine, were completely unregulated and prescribed freely by physicians for a wide variety of ailments.
Heroin was originally synthesized in 1874 by a man named C.R Alder Wright. Created as a solution to opium, a drug that had plagued many American households. It was originally produced for medical purposes evidently becoming highly addictive. Heroin “... was originally marketed as a non-addictive substance” (“History of Addiction”) which inevitably increased its popularity. It became especially popular in places of poverty. Heroin became a solution to struggle. So common it was almost as if heroin was a prescribed medicine for hardship. Known as “[a] treatment of many illnesses and pain” (“A brief history of addiction”) but later revealed that it caused more harm than good. Being so easily accessible it became immensely common among musicians.
Almost overnight one such venerable substance (or class of substances) has been catapulted into the national spotlight: prescription painkillers, namely those derived from the opium poppy. This class of analgesic encompasses everything from the codeine in prescription cough syrup to the morphine used in the management of sever pain. These compounds are commonly referred to as opiates and are produced naturally by the poppy. The sub-class of this type that has gotten all of the attention recently is the opioids, which are semi-synthetic compounds derived from the opiates (Wade 846). Opioids were developed for a variety of reasons, such as reducing the cost of production (morphine is expensive to synthesize) and attempting to reduce the addictiveness of the drugs.
One-hundred years ago some drugs was legal to possess and even children could buy drugs like morphine, opium, marijuana, and cocaine. These drugs if got caught with them today could result in a life sentence it today’s society. 1914 was a change for these drugs it was like overnight these drugs become illegal. The reason for this change in 1914 wa...
The drug problem in the U.S. and around the world is an important issue and seems to be a difficult problem to tackle across the board. The inflow of drugs has become one of the largest growths in transnational crime operations; illicit drug use in the United States makes it very difficult for nation states police and customs forces to get a handle on the issues. War on drugs, drug trafficking has long been an issue for the United States. There has been a proclamation of “war on drugs” for the past 44 years.
Anti-drug legislation has had an extensive and fascinating record in the United States. The initial drug that showed prevalent use in the nation was Opium, which came primarily from China. Opium was utilized as a recommendation drug by doctors, but the growing cases of addiction led to laws alongside this drug. The greater part of the opium addicts were girls due to the doctors tend to recommend the drug for many women’s particular problems. In 1875, a law was approved in California barring individuals from smoking opium. While the law pertained generally to Chinese immigrants it was the first place in anti-drug provision is the Unites States. At the Federal stage, the prohibition of importation of opium by Chinese nationals happened in 1887 and in 1905 opium smoking was constrained in the Philippines (Harrison). While these regulations were the initial steps, they did not have any absolute provisions to decrease drug supply and use in the country. The laws beleaguered the lessening of delivery of drugs in the country and do not deal with the problem of treatment of a true illness.
In the history of mankind, the hallucinogens have probably been the most important of the narcotics. Their fantastic effects made the...
What is leadership? Leadership is defined as a process by which a individual will influence others to obtain goals. Leaders will guide, direct motivate, or inspire others. Leadership is defined by not only traits but actions as well. Leaders are inspirational, trustworthy and charismatic. Many people may think a manger is leader. Although leadership and management go hand in hand, they are not the same. Everyone has their own beliefs about what characteristics an effective leader should have. To me, communication skills, critical thinking skills, and having a vision are few characteristics of becoming an effective leader. A leader is not only born, but made. Some are born as leaders or some are made to be leaders.

Since synthetic medicine are not yet invented by that time, ancient people had invented medicine out of the plants. Through generations the original herbal medicine had been modified due to the new knowledge discovered and technologies invented.
