Presidential Candidates Views on Immigration Reform I like Hillary Clinton's views on immigration reform because she has a plan to what she believes and has very good knowledge on immigration. She is from the Democratic Party and believes that every family should feel they belong in this country. Instead of breaking up law-abiding immigrant families who have enriched America for years, Hillary offers a path to citizenship. I agree with this because the families that are doing nothing wrong in America deserve to stay here, go through the process of becoming legalized and not be deported. Her path to citizenship includes paying a fine, filling in back taxes and learning English. Hillary Clinton and many American people support the comprehensive …show more content…
I do not agree with Hillary Clinton’s views on sanctuary cities because I believe that sanctuary cities are a pathway for illegal immigrants to come to America. Sanctuary cities should be shut down. Although, I agree with Hillary Clinton's views on immigration enforcement and how it must be more humane and effective by focusing on immigrants who pose a threat to our country. She also called for an increase of law enforcement along the Mexican and Canadian border. I believe that an increase in security and enforcement is a huge step forward to stopping illegal immigrants. I agree with the majority of Hillary Clinton’s views on immigration and believe that she has great knowledge on dealing with illegal immigrants and stopping the ones from coming …show more content…
I agree with Jeb’s statements on fixing our broken immigration system, securing the border, dealing with the current illegal immigrants and being sure that it is an easier process to become a legal immigrant over an illegal one. Jeb Bush disagrees with Trumps idea of mass deportation because it would tear communities apart and be a hard to task to complete without overlooking certain illegal immigrants. He believes that immigrants aren’t bad for our country because it gives us diversity. Although, he is strongly against sanctuary cities and called to withhold federal law enforcement funds for such cities and be sure to detain and deport illegal immigrants who are criminals. Jeb’s main point seems to be greatly strengthening border security for national security and public health reasons. He believes we must stop the ones coming in, and make the illegal ones already in America go through a lengthy process to become legalized. Overall, I strongly agree with Jeb Bush’s ideas and believe that he has come up with some great strategies to lessen the amount of illegal immigrants in our country
The oldest currently serving US Senator, Dianne Feinstein, has done her share of leading our Senators and fighting to keep our country safe and free of crime. Feinstein is a member of the Democratic Party, as well as the former thirty-eighth mayor of San Francisco. Eight years after being elected into the San Francisco Board of Supervisors in 1970, Feinstein served as the board’s first female president. The assassinations of Mayor George Moscone and City Supervisor Harvey Milk caused Feinstein to succeed as mayor of San Francisco in 1978. While Feinstein served as San Francisco’s first female mayor she renovated the cable car system and oversaw the 1984 Democratic National Convention.
Most people think that the U.S. has not gotten anywhere in the past few years, and that's definitely not going to change unless there is a different president with innovative ideas. Putting a wall up and not letting immigrants in at all isn't going to cut it though. The United States need a president with different thoughts. Sonia Sotomayor would make a fantastic president because she has determination, respect, and integrity, which she could use to fix America's education and immigration systems and make the U.S. a more respected nation.
She has produced millions and millions of great individuals. These great minds have shaped what America
Among the problems that face our nation, illegal immigration seems to be one of the most regarded. “In 2005, there were 12.7 million people classified as refugees in the world. Refugees are forced to migrate because of danger in their own country.” (Cath Senker 12) Some push to end it while others want to have it legalized or less strict. There are many points that are argued on this topic. Although immigrants support the economy, they should have to pay taxes. Illegal immigration should be stopped or slowed until the legalization process and borders are improved. Due to the fact, that taxpayers are the backbone of our economy and nation as a whole.
Clinton repeats the words “If women” followed by “will” (Clinton), this gives the audience a reason to accept her propositions. Good outcomes come with good actions. When she concluded her speech, Hillary kept using the repetition of the words dignity, respect, family and children. Clinton’s credibility is not questioned when she says she has been working in the case, “Over the past 25 years, I have worked persistently on issues relating to women, children, and families” (Clinton) this is the way she knows about women and their necessities, “I’ve had the opportunity to learn more about the challenges facing women in my country and around the world” (Clinton). Her goal is definite, “To strengthen families and societies by empowering women to take greater control over their own destinies”( Clinton). This change will not only affect women, but everyone who surrounds them.
I am writing in response to your request that I analyze Mae Ngai’s “Reforming Immigration for Good,” and offer my recommendation for or against publication. After reading Ngai’s document, in my opinion, I believe that UTA students will find the article interesting. Ngai’s Piece is very interesting because it addresses a reoccurring problem and can easily be made into a controversial debate. I recommend that UTA students should read the article because it has a different approach than what most people view on Immigration laws; however, I believe that UTA students will disagree with Ngai’s viewpoint of improving the immigration laws which will allow for more immigrants to apply for citizenship. I also recommend that students read it because
Migration for “a better life” or to be with one’s family shaped the history of the United States since the beginning. In the US today there are 40 million immigrants and the U.S. Census Bureau estimates that there is around 11 million illegal aliens already living right here and are not authorized to live and work in the United States. It makes it hard to protect their right because they are in this country illegal. Immigrant are living in the US are in constant fear of being deported so they live in quiet hiding so that they go undetected by US officials. They are so fearful of deportation that they don’t report crimes against them or employers that take advantage of them or do not pay them for work.
I feel that Immigration needs great reform. I feel illegals currently here should be deported and have to re-apply before they can return. Also I support stronger boarder protection in forms of walls and personnel.
Obama Administration proposed what is called Comprehensive Immigration Reform. It is composed of six sections aimed at fixing the current immigration system. It includes enhanced border enforcement, interior enforcement and the most controversial section; an amnesty program to legalize undocumented immigrants. In other words, it creates a pathway to citizenship for unauthorized immigrants that is fair and feasible. Many argue that even though Comprehensive Immigration Reform is good for America because it addresses important issues like creating a committee to adopt the number of visas available to changing economic times, preventing people from working without permits and creating programs aimed at helping immigrants adjust to life in America. Yet it rewards violators of current U.S. laws who entered the country illegally, and those who entered the country legally but overstayed their visas. Opponents of the Comprehensive Immigration Reform proposal claim that immigrants have a negative impact on the economy; overwhelming social services of many states, and posing a threat to American workers as a result of big corporations exploiting immigrants with low wages and poor working conditions. With the recent economic downturn and the severe recession that hit the U.S, many individuals blame immigrants for their economic misfortune and lack of employment. For both the opponents and proponents of the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Proposal, for the millions of the undocumented immigrants and their families, and lawmakers; immigration has become an emotional political issue. Despite the resistance of many, America should embrace comprehensive immigration reform.
...nfusion of her people to pass bills and laws that would otherwise not be passed.
This article is truly saddening and it pains me to even say I’m an American sometimes. Over 800,000 underage immigrants have received the protection here under DACA (Deferred Action for childhood arrivals) for that last 5 years. The very thing that brought them here is now being taken away now they are at risk for deportation. Even though most have enrolled in College and established a stable career for themselves, this was not put into consideration when the action on the program was taken.
The White House stated that President Bush would have a debate on illegal immigration. White House officials said Mr. Bush had always understood the need to protect the border as a former governor of a border state, Texas Ruttenberg, J. (2006, May 13). Mr. Bush was considering a bill to increase law enforcements and military personnel patrolling the border to increase the use of high surveillance tools and to increase the enforcement against illegal immigrants and drugs (www.foxnews.com.).
Many Americans are beginning to wonder who will run as the Democratic candidate for the next president of the United States. Since the 2008 election, one particular name has been the topic of conversation around most media outlets and households across the county. With over one million supporters who believe in her abilities to lead, Hillary Clinton possesses the qualities that meet the leadership criteria that would help her to become the leader of the free world. I choose to research Hillary Clinton because I admire the drive and passion she puts into her work. She is a unique global leader whose activism has promoted social change around the world.
clearly how her strong interest for this country is what she enjoys expressing and the favoured
He maintains that the current immigration policy is beneficial to wealthy donors who can access cheaper labor and punishes the American working class. Trump argues that because immigrants from other countries, namely Mexico, exploit our lax immigration policy to receive health care costs, education costs, and welfare costs, etc. and then send money back from our country to theirs that the Mexican government needs to repay the American people -- by building wall to separate the border. Trump’s official position, according to his campaign site, is ,“They are responsible for this problem, and they must help pay to clean it up. The cost of building a permanent border wall pales mightily in comparison to what American taxpayers spend every single year on dealing with the fallout of illegal immigration on their communities, schools and unemployment offices.” (Immigration Reform, DonaldJTrump.com) I agree that our immigration policy needs reform, a point that needs emphasizing since a large majority of people believe that illegal immigrants should not have the same Constitutional rights. Here many liberals would probably object on the grounds that because the illegal immigrants are people, they deserve the same rights. Immigration reform matters because it decides how other governmental structures function, ultimately deciding the future of our country's economic
