When people are involved in a sport their always at practice depending on which sport it is conditioning. Conditioning is a big part of practices in the beginning of the season. Because the coaches want their athletes ready to go and never get tired. They want their athletes in good condition for games because games are completely different than practices. Some benefits of going out for high school athletics are reduced childhood obesity and stronger hearts. Obesity is a problem in the United States. one hour of physical activity daily. According to the CDC kids should get a minimum of one hour a day doing some sort of exercise. When they reach the 6th grade, only 28.1 percent of girls and 41.4 percent of boys achieve this level of activity. This is a great time for these kids to get active because they are only in middle school. When these kids are getting up into these rates of exercise per day it will only increase their health. Some say that going out for sports is a waste of time. According to the IHSAA Average amount of time actually practicing is about 2-3 hours a day. Which is not a whole lot considering that practice is usually held after school. It will keep students who are maybe prone to be doing stuff that they should not be doing. Also this time serves as the time people should be active and getting exercise. People are supposed to get out and exercise everyday anyways. So why not make it doing something with friends or maybe something fun. There are ways that people exercise without going out for sports, but usually the people seen out running or lifting weights did some sort of high school sport. They kept trying to get their exercise in. Another reason students do not want to go out for high school sports is because they have a job. In high school it is not uncommon for a high school student to have a job. Most high schoolers jobs though are in the summer. So they are still some sports that these people with summer jobs could participate in. So the excuse of having a job is not a very good one unless the person works everyday from after school to a certain time. Usually these people who the athletes work for will work around the athletes

The only reason some athletes make it to college is due to scholarships for their performance on the field. If they don’t perform well on the field, that scholarship might get cut. This makes practicing the athletes a main priority. However, college athletes have to concentrate on their grades so they don’t drop out of college. These athletes know they may not make it to the pro’s, so they know they have to have a back-up plan.
A common denominator that successful people share is the involvement of playing a varsity sport in high school. Every high school in the United States is different, however all encourage students to get involved. Most commonly, students decide to join sports. High school sports can cause profitable effects because students live healthier lives, achieve higher grades and learn life lessons.
Exercise, food, technology, and money all play a role in causing childhood obesity. Lack of exercise among adolescents has been proven to be the leading cause of childhood obesity. According to a May 2012 Institute of Medicine report, only half of America’s children and one in four teens get enough activity to meet current guidelines (Doheny and Noonman 1). The recommendations call for children to participate in at least 60 minutes of vigorous to moderate physical activity every day (Hendrick 1). “Only four percent of elementary schools, eight percent of middle schools, and two percent of high schools provide daily physical ...
First of all high school sports are not beneficial because it puts too much stress on the kids because they want to make their parents happy and want to keep their grades up or if they don’t they could get cut from the team . The pressure from the parents is sometimes too much. According to KCRA.com this statement is important because it highlights that they have to worry about not getting dropped from the team because they have to make sure grades are staying up and then they have to worry about their practice and being a valuable player on the team. According to helpguide.org this could lead to, a lot of stress and that could be bad for the student because they might get health
Many would disagree with me and say that high school sports actually have more positive benefits than negative benefits for students. For example a student in sports would be more active which would make them fitter and healthier. A student that in a team sport would make more friends which would improve their social
When are they suppose to have time to work to provide for themselves and sometimes for their families? A student athlete basically has two jobs, their sport and school. If they fail in school, it is possible that they can get their scholarship revoked. Receiving a salary can help motivate an athlete when it comes to school work. When it comes down to it, an athlete will chose the sport over school.
One major aspect to being healthy is to have an active lifestyle, therefore one solution for child obesity is schools adding more opportunities for physical activity throughout the school day. Children should have at least 60 minutes of Physical activity everyday (Green, Riley, and Hargrove). One way to help this is by having gym everyday to help students to reach their 60 minutes of physical activity. Only 3% of elementary schools, 7.9% of middle schools a...
High school sports are helpful in many ways they can keep student-athletes involved, get god grades and scholarships and build character. Playing the sport that you love or want to attend in your high school days are a privilege, not a right. High school sports can influence students in different ways.
Sports can help many at- risk youths. In order to participate in sports you need to be committed and willing to work hard. You also have to learn to respect others and accept that winning isn’t the only measure of success. Losing can build character as well. When youth participate in a sports they enjoy, they are less likely to engage in behaviors that are harmful or dangerous to themselves and others. It is for these reasons schools should strive to maintain athletic programs for their students.

For example a student in sports would be more active which would make them fitter and healthier. With us being too busy with work and too busy with school its overwhelming. Now the average person is set to work 8- 12 hours a day and is to do so 3-5 days out of the week. With all of our time being used up each and every day it is tough to keep a schedule where you allow yourself to be able to workout. Not just that where most jobs require us to sit down at a desk for hour does not help with, the obesity issue that we have In America today. With obesity rates in each state stagger from a 30 to 35% in adults today in the united states. That number continues to grow because of our busy lifestyles, we don’t add exercise to it. each year the numbers staggers more and more. Obesity now increases the chance for more adults to get type 2 diabetes and cancer due to being over weight and not exercising. Scientist have now predicted that by 2030, 44% of each state will be obese. At this constant rate that we are on it gives us 7.9 million new cases of type 2 diabetes occurring in each person each year. with this it will add 666 million more dollars in medical cost for people who are obese. In children alone the obesity rates have also increased to 30% of each state being obese for each child ranging from the age of 10 to 19 years of age in each state. With this number also increasing each year, we can now see the importance of educating our children and motivating ourselves to go and take time to do short workouts each day,
This means most kids get their exercise from recess, not gym, so it is still very important to children’s health. The obesity rate for children ages ten through fifteen has doubled in the past twenty years. America has a high obesity rate in children, so more physical activity can help reduce it. With the pressure from school systems and teachers to do well on standardized tests, students have more homework than ever, which leaves less time to do physical
Sports programs have been an integral part of all schools. They support the academics of the school and therefore foster success in life. These programs are educational and help produce productive citizenship. They help students experience and build skills that may help them in their future, like interpersonal and time management skills. Education may kindle the light of knowledge, but sports help to maintain the proper physique. Sports are also an important means of entertainment and a use for energy after long hours of study. Sports increase a student’s performance not only in the classroom but also in their life.
The benefits of sports range from physical, mental, and social. Exercise keeps people fit, develops healthy muscle tone, and reduces heart and lung problems (Oak, Manali). Sports studies have shown that “youth are motivated and engaged in ways that do not happen regularly in any other parts of their lives. Their experience of sports stands out from nearly all other activities, including socializing and schoolwork, in providing enjoyment where they are exerting concerted effort toward a goal” (Larson, Reed, and Sean Seepersad). People who play sports bond over a common interest. This opens up children to meeting new kids and socializing with many more. In Kindergarten, I played baseball. Even though I did not truly understand all the mechanics of the game, I met new friends and began to develop motor skills. This was very useful starting at an early age and pushed me to stay active throughout my life.
