They face many risks at what they do and hardy get to see the persons they love, but still give to the kids in need. Players do not deserve the money they receive. There are people who do much more than the players do. Why do teachers not get paid millions of dollars to teach kids? Some of those kids end up going on to become professional athletes. Police officers and firemen risk their lives to keep people safe and most of them do not even make any more than 95 thousand dollars a year (Megerian). These athletes get fined more money than that and hand it over like someone just asked them for one dollar. Players have all of this money and do not even do anything worth earning it. Why do they get this money? It is because fans value athletes more than the important things in life like education and family.
College athletes are manipulated every day. Student athletes are working day in and day out to meet academic standards and to keep their level of play competitive. These athletes need to be rewarded and credited for their achievements. Not only are these athletes not being rewarded but they are also living with no money. Because the athletes are living off of no money they are very vulnerable to taking money from boosters and others that are willing to help them out. The problem with this is that the athletes are not only getting themselves in trouble but their athletic departments as well.
Specific Purpose: To persuade the audience to strengthen their commitment to participate in National Women’s Law Center and American Association of University Women Organization.
While he makes much money, he gives back to society. He helps others in need with millions of dollars. Doing this could save many lives. While this may be true, athletes aren’t careful on how they spend the rest of their earnings. For example, Derek Jeter has bought a penthouse and expensive items for other people to adore him (TWC). He could be using this money on situations found all over the world and easily handle his money otherwise, to live an easier life. Greater things can refer to helping homeless families, education, and eradicating disease. Other athletes have done worse, by going bankrupt or using drugs. Most athletes are careless with their own money, and shouldn’t be dealt to handle that much money. In the article, “Are Athletes Overpaid?”, Elizabeth Vollmer stated, “78% of pro football players go broke after retirement and 60% of basketball players lose all their funds within 5 years of retirement.” How can these types of people be trusted with money, if they never learned finance management? These sports play their athletes the most, and they are still wasting it on luxurious items, alcohol, or cars. With this, they not only hurt themselves but the economy. This brings more poor people into the world’s hands to solve. While athletes are given lots of money for a few years, they do not realize to not spend all of it, if they dropped out of school. So, athletes should be paid
Every day, people around the world complain about professional athletes salaries. Even though the top athletes make millions of dollars every year, the majority of athletes do not make any more than the average working class citizen. There are also many risks along with the job, and job security is very unstable. Expenses and taxes also limit the amount of money an athlete makes. Tax rates are extremely high for the men and women who participate in professional sports.
"Oryx and Crake," a novel by Margaret Atwood, expertly blends fiction and reality to portray the challenges facing our modern society. Like many other works of literature, "Oryx and Crake" offers profound insights into the complexities of our world. Introducing books like "Oryx and Crake" in the classroom provides students with opportunities to enhance their critical thinking skills, learn about resilience, raise awareness, explore science and technology, and understand human nature and emotions. "Oryx and Crake" is just one of many literary works that contribute to sharpening students' critical thinking skills. Critical thinking is essential in society for problem-solving, job-seeking, planning for the future, and navigating everyday life.
Do you think professional athletes are overpaid? You might think they earn more than what they are worth for playing half a year, but athletes have many things which contribute to their salary. Some of these things include their earnings from endorsements, ticket sales, performance, merchandise, their social contributions, and TV ratings. Although there are many factors that contribute to their salary, professional athletes may be overpaid because as a society, we contribute to their success. So, in the end, part of the athlete’s salary comes from the people who support the sports in the first place. These are just some of the reasons why athletes are paid so much money.
Controversy strikes as talks of payment to college athletes are on the rise. Recent cases have brought about whether or not the country’s beloved student-athletes should be paid to play. The answer to that question is no, reason being that these “athletes” are students before anything, including a celebrity. College athletes, especially those who play football or basketball, are being compensated more than fairly enough through their scholarships as is. It’s public perceptions that the NCAA and/or the university these students attend are blatantly neglecting them. No, there is simply more to it. Most schools barely come by enough money to pay student-athletes, whether it be basketball, football, baseball, or even tennis and golf.
athletes should receive some of that money. What those people do not understand is that that money is
In closing, these athletes are making too much money in a society that traditionally bases salaries on the value of ones work. These athletes do not know what real work is or how hard it is to make a dollar. Although their job is difficult, they do not play a role in our economy like their salaries indicate. Therefore, they should receive less money.
Professional athletes play in front of an audience and get paid for it. Fans like seeing these athletes perform their best so much that they are willing to pay to watch. Professional athletes are performers or entertainers. They must perform well in each game or risk losing. If they don 't play well, they won 't last long. The work of professional athletes is hardworking and at times demanding. This is both physical and mental stress. They must be in the best possible shape. Athletes usually work out all year, both during the season and in the off season in order to be able to start for their team. They must be able to perform their jobs at the highest level at all times. Professional athletes also face the constant threat of injuries that could potentially end their careers. For these and other reasons, this kind of job can be quite stressful. During the season, athletes often practice more than 50 hours a week. They may have other duties related to the team as well for instance, going to meetings or watching films about the opposition. Athletes have to move to the place where their team is located. If the manager decides to trade them, they have to most likely to move again. Being a professional athletes they often have curfews and other restrictions on the things they do. They are not allowed to just leave the job at the office like workers in other jobs can. That’s why the athletes receive what they get, because of what they do when they need to
I agree that athletes should get more for what they are doing and that I am interested about doing this essay about the high salaries that athlete are getting paid and i think that it is a good idea because a lot of people wonder exactly how much they get paid per game session .The athlete that are getting paid more are usually more known by people who watch them from tv or even live supporting them from the beginning and end. Salaries of athletes is an interesting topic many people debates about it but in fact athletes are getting paid way more than other jobs but there's a difference between normal athletes and professional athletes is that one does better at there jobs than other. The average salaries that they make is more than most people make in their lifetime. Most people have to work hard for they lively hood but athletes get paid a lot even if they did not perform good in they game or miss a game season when they got injuries.
A lot of Athletes are model citizens that you should really look up to, but there are. also some bad apples in the bunch that ruin it for everyone. Athletes can inspire young people to work hard so that their efforts can pay off, but no one. is pure and flawless. Greed does take a hold of some players, but they do. shouldn't be the ones we devote all of our attention to.
In today’s society many will argue whether or not professional athletes are overpaid. In the present time athletes are being paid phenomenally large amounts of money for their entertainment. It is my claim that all professional athletes are overpaid because they do not offer society an essential function that improves or enhances our world in comparison to other professionals such as medical doctors, lawyers, and teachers. Society does not value entertainment enough to warrant such high salaries such as those of many professional athletes. There is no reason that these athletes should demand these tremendous amounts of money. This is why you have to put into question their reasoning for demanding such high salaries.
Finally, I feel that movie stars and major league athletes are always getting the bad end of the stick when it comes to how much money they make, despite the fact that people of importance, like doctors and even the president of the United States, don’t make as much as the stars do. Now everyone in life has a choice to be what they want to be in life, many people should research the criteria and salaries before they get mad that a certain person is making more money than another. And don’t forget that its society that is really funding them as an entertainer and actors have taken years to get where they are today. And even though stars are portrayed as greedy, they are often known for their philanthropic sprit.
