The Internet’s size and easy access for consumers encourages small businesses to provide information about their products in addition to the common overabundance of imagery and advertising slogans. In addition to the claims made about this particular product, each active ingredient has a literature provided by the large number of alternative medicine and herbal specialist sites on the Web. After describing this consumer information, I will provide you with a survey of the clinical research that supports, denies, or falls short of these claims.
There are several active ingredients reported by the “specialists” at Epicure: Bellis Perennis (Daisy), Calendula Officinalis (Garden Marigold), Echinacea Angustifolia (Cone Flower), Symphytum Officinale (Comfrey), Aconitum Napellus (Aconite), Arnica Montana (Leopard’s Bane Root). Hypericum Perforatum (St. John’s Wort), Ledum Palustre (Wild Rosemary), and Ruta Graveolens (Rue). Among the other claims provided by Epicure are relief of “sports injuries, pain, minor inflammation of various origins, sprains, strains, discomforts, and bruises” (www.choicemail.com/epicure). This product, because of its claims and apparent success is currently involved in a clinical study guided by Prodigy, Inc., at the Vanderbilt University Sport’s Medicine Center. However, this project is not yet completed and the results are not available to report. It is for this reason that the best examination of the product is to research each of the active ingredients for potential success in application for the above-mentioned ailments.
The Internet provides countless web sites where one can learn about the various ingredients of Epicure Crystal Sports Cream. Bellis Perennis, more commonly known as daisy, has an interesting literature on the Web. Due to the increase of popularity of the interscholastic athletic activities on the past few years, several researches process, recommendation, and manuals have been developed by diverse organizations such as the American college of sports medicine, and the national athletic trainer association. These organizations and their members have been working extensively to develop awareness over the importance of providing high quality medical service which can improve the medical outcome of the patient. At the same time, these organization developed regulations to standardize the medical service offered by the sport medicine team; especially by athletic trainers.
These ideas sum up societies mood in the 1920s. The Roaring Twenties was a period of cultural change in which people evaluated their life and morals. Responsiblity for many became unimportant and a spirit that focused on the individual and independence spread far and wide. Socially, in the 1920s, autonomy, or having the right of self government, was strong. People, especially members of the youth, formed new trains of thought and expressed their own personnel attitudes and beliefs. Music and theater grew and became expressions of the culture.
The Roaring 20's was era in which America call it many name such as the “The Jazz Age”, “Harlem Renaissance”, “The Age of Intolerance”, “The Age of Wonderful Nonsense” and many more titles. It a time where America has dramatic social and political changes for its citizens. Where America and its peoples was rumbustious and carefree from the possibilities changes. But, however, even if it creates new changes for America, not all of it was good.
During the Roaring Twenties, women changed their actions. The 1920s was an explosion of color and a period of escapism. The young women began to set themselves free. The changing role of women was a result from all the work they did during World War I. The younger generation rejected values and customs of their parents’ generation. The young women no longer wanted to be the guardians of morality, dressing in a modest way and refraining from drinking, dancing, and smoking. They wanted to have the freedom to wear short skirts and ride in cars with their boyfriends. Because of all the deaths of World War I, the new generation felt the need to live freely and enjoy life. Young women and men who returned from the war experienced cultures with different customs and standards.
During the times span between 1920 and 1929, the United states experienced a dramatic change in society on an environmental, industrial, and cultural level. The availability of automobiles to the common citizen molded the American landscape, industry, and national identity. As a result, the financial and cultural gap between the upper class wealth and the lower class laborers shrank and the first semi-modern middle class was born. Henry Ford helped fuel the revolution of the American Dream by providing jobs that offered financial stability and transportation which offered a freedom many people had never experienced before. The “horseless wagon” improved street conditions and overall living conditions. People now had the ability to travel quickly and inexpensively in and out of cities. People who lived in the rural isolation of their farms were also able to transport their goods less expensively and easily to new markets. However, many argued that not all aspects associated with the automobile were viewed as positive. Cars became a speedy way to avoid the police and facilitated crime, especially involving alcohol.
The rapid economic expansion and changing social attitudes both contributed to the growing sense of confidence shown in the 1920’s. Due to new ideas and better working conditions, the economy was booming. More people were able to afford goods due to the fact that they could be produced in greater numbers allowing the prices to decrease. This led to significant increases in the sales of products such as cars, refrigerators, radios and cookers. A man by the name of John R. Lee mentioned that companies successfully lowered the prices of the convenient car in order to make it affordable for more people to purchase their products. It is a growing debate in an area that American society cannot afford to ignore, as the discussion on voucher schools directly affects our youth, the very foundation of our country. Many cities across the United States have proposed school voucher programs in an effort to improve the education of inner-city children that come from low-income families. However, with this proposition arises certain questions that cannot be avoided. Although proponents of school vouchers argue differently, challengers of the system expressly state that the taxpayer-funded voucher system infringes upon our First Amendment rights. Additionally, opponents suggest that the money being used for vouchers be provided to failing public schools, as used to be, and should continue to be, the American way. At the same time, voucher advocates believe that the consequences of a full-scale voucher policy for our nation’s public schools would, in fact, be beneficial. Still, both sides of the argument agree: our nation must find a way to give every student in struggling schools the best education possible. The complex disagreement lies in the steps that must be taken in order to achieve this goal. Should the government adopt a taxpayer-funded voucher system or otherwise explore alternate routes that could more effectively ensure the success of the American educational system?

Politicians wanted to improve America’s education system so they began mandating standardized tests at public schools and designating letter “grades” to overall school performance (Garnet, 2005). The roaring twenties were a time of cultural, artistic, and social explosion for the United States of America. This era was distinguished by several inventions and discoveries, rapid industrial growth, accelerated consumer demand and significant changes in American lifestyle. It was a time when people lived life to the fullest and pursued having a good time. The census of 1920 showed that for the first time in American history, more people lived in urban areas such as cities than out in the country. While the amount of modern technology would be somewhat lackluster in comparison to what we have today, I would be glad to live in the 1920’s.
Vouchers redirect money that would have been spent on educating a child in the public school system to a private school of the parent’s choosing. Voucher use is based on two factors, student eligibility and school eligibility. Those students who would be eligible for vouchers are among those in low-income families. School eligibility widely varies state by state. In some states school eligibility is restricted only to nonsectarian private schools, where elsewhere any private school is eligible (Resnick, 1998). Those who support vouchers offer three reasons for their position. One reason being that most public schools are failing, secondly vouchers help the children who use them, and thirdly vouchers create competition that motivates public schools to improve (Resnick, 1998). However, opponents argue that funding should be put toward improving the current public school system for the masses instead of allowing a better education to an elite few. Research is largely opposed to vouchers. Vouchers imprudently use public funds to back religious education, degrade public education, and support elitism.
After World War 1 had ended, Americans were happy and called for a time of celebration. Times were beginning to change and revolutionize into an era never experienced before. Many people thought that with the ending of the war, things wouldn’t look to good in the United States but the reality was that things looked way much better than they expected. The ending of World War 1 resulted in a boom of great new things in the U.S. during the 1920’s called the roaring 20’s. This era seemed as if I was a carefree era and people seemed to have more money than ever. The Roaring 20’s consisted of an era with new inventions, prohibition, jazz music, and women becoming more independent. Most of the roaring 20’s, was an uplifting time for the spirit of the United States and enhanced American life.
The overriding rationale for education vouchers is the simple fact that private schools are better than public schools and public schools are a disaster, creating an illusion. There is a wide assumption that private schools somehow increase educational equity, with the interpretation that all low-income children and minorities can take advantage of private education. What is not known about education vouchers is the way it uses private school as a scapegoat in order to avoid the real issues surrounding the problems of public schools. Private school choices only serve as an excuse because they only offer admission to a limited portion of low-income and minorities. The seats are limited, “all you are doing is making tiny adjustments in the allocation of educational opportunities for a very small number of children and still condemning a large number of children to poorly funded, inadequate schools” (Hammond 10). The histories of education vouchers go back to the 1776, when Adam Smith proposed that government give money to parents in order to diversify and up the competition in the classroom. Smith also concluded that because parents are the consumers, they should have the right to choose their children education. In the late eighteen century, Thomas Pain took Smiths concept to the United Sates, “the poor should be given special aid and parents should be required to purchase education for their children”. In 1859, John Stuart Mill contradicted Pain’s argument by imposing that government should require a minimum education for every child, but parents should have the option to seek education, how and wherever they wanted.
