“We already have - thanks to technology, development, skills, the efficiency of our work - enough resources to satisfy all human needs. But we don't have enough resources, and we are unlikely ever to have, to satisfy human greed.” That is a quote from Zygmunt Bauman about the basic needs of every human being. All over the world there are people who have nice phones and gaming systems, new clothes and shoes, huge houses and cars (SC6). But there are also people who are not able to have proper shelter, food, and water. The world is full of extremely rich people, but there are also people who pretty much have nothing. Just having these three items would make them more able to help out their communities more by getting jobs and working. It would make it so much easier for them to have a job, and succeed at that job, if they had these necessities. Confident and upbeat, the homeless would be able to work to their fullest potential if I could give them what they needed (BE1). How much better could these people be in their everyday lives if they had these needs met in their lives? Many people have a decent excuse for either not showing up for work or not being able to work to their fullest - not having their needs met outside of work (SC8). To become healthier and happier, the homeless would benefit greatly from those three things. Many people out in the world would love to be able to walk into a warm house and have a nice meal; many of us take all of that for granted. Therefore, we need to be more grateful for the things we have because so many people around the world with they could have half of what we do (BE6). I have good reason to believe that people would be more of a help to their societies if they were provided with these necessities: they would not have to deal with as many health issues as they do if they could have the access to the things we all have (SC3). Giving all people sufficient food and water and shelter would make them happier because it would keep them healthier (SC5). The homeless would be better equipped to live their lives to the fullest.
