start buying more bananas. Threats- A new fungus spreading through the banana plantations which could lead to destruction of bananas supply.
Objective
To inform the U.S population of the risk and side effects are of low potassium, as well as to get the American people to eat more bananas. Most Americans have low potassium which could cause Sirius health issues? Low potassium (hypokalemia) has many causes. Less than 2% of Americans achieve even the recommended amount of potassium, due primarily to inadequate plant food intake. Every cell in the body requires potassium to function.
“Most Americans do not meet the daily recommendation for potassium, and consume levels that are less than recommended. A diet low in potassium and high in sodium may be one of many factors leading to high blood pressure, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease. Following a diet that includes more potassium-rich fruits and vegetables, and less sodium containing processed foods is recommended. Athletes involved in exercise greater than one hour in duration may require larger quantities of potassium rich foods. Potassium supplements are not recommended unless consumption is monitored by medical professional.”
Marketing Strategy
Target
market We will be targeting all Americans to be better informed and to eat more fruits like bananas. To better inform the American people to eat Marketing MIX We are promoting better heath by eating more bananas and to inform the American people to eat heather. Most Americans don’t know how to eat healthy, we are trying to inform them not only will they have heather lives but the American people will spend less tax dollars on medical issues the general American people can’t afford. Are plan is to keep bananas prices from fluctuating so more people will eat more bananas all year. We will promote all fruits and vegetables to stop fluctuating prices during winter to help provide heather eating all year. Another strategy is to get bananas in all school cafeterias free for kids and let the school district cover it. If we promote better eating a lot of health issues won’t be factors. This would save the entire government and the American people money in the long run. So spending a little now will save a lot in the future. We would promote this through schools and parting class as well as through TV ads and other forms of promotions. Impalement Evaluation Control After the first year we hope to expand are efforts to heathy eating and reduce the medical bills for all Americans. After the first year of implement we will be able to expand off what we gather, we will fix weakness and add to more strength to our campaign to help America eat more fruits and vegetables.
Together extra-renal factors (insulin, epinephrine, aldosterone) and renal factors maintain a normal potassium plasma concentration in the body. The extra-renal mechanisms are responsible for moving potassium into the intracellular compartment. The renal mechanisms are responsible for chronic maintenance of body potassium content. When these mechanisms are functioning correctly, large intake of potassium has a minor and insignificant effect on the potassium concentration in the plasma. [5&6]

The periodic table contains many different kinds of elements which are placed accordingly on the table. Potassium is in the alkali metals which is placed in group 1 of the table, alkali metals are among the most active metals. This element was found in 1801 by a man named Humphry Davy. Although the element does not have many uses in pure form as a compound it has many important purposes. Potassium is naturally in the human body if levels become too low or too high then it could cause problems for the individual. Low levels of potassium could cause muscle problems such as cramping and the muscle feeling weak, the person could have a hard time walking or holding onto objects. A serious concern would be the effects on the heart as it causes blood pressure to increase and abnormal heart rhythms.
High potassium foods include fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes, potatoes, spinach, broccoli, beans, peas, avocados, oranges, strawberries, and bananas. Cereals, orange juice and dried fruits like raisins, prunes, apricots, and dates are also excellent sources of potassium. Fish (salmon, flounder, cod, and sardines), meat, chicken, milk, yogurt and nuts are also good sources of this mineral.

Many fruits and vegetables contain potassium and other nutrients that help bone health. Eating potassium helps the diminution in bone mineral density that occurs with aging, particularly among elderly women. Bananas, plums, carrots, lettuce, and tomatoes include potassium. The good amount of daily potassium is 4,700 milligrams (Medical 2013).
...(case study – severely dehydrated) and administering potassium chloride and sodium chloride solution. The potassium restores the serum and intracellular potassium levels, allowing the kidneys to more effectively conserve hydrogen ions. Chloride promotes renal excretion of bicarbonate. Sodium chloride solutions restore fluid volume deficits that can contribute to metabolic alkalosis. In severe alkalosis, an acidifying solution such as dilute hydrochloric acid or ammonium chloride may be administered. Additionally, drugs may be used to treat the underlying cause of the alkalosis (Lemone & Burke, 2004).
Salt and our bodies. Salt inside our bodies is an electrolyte which helps conduct the electricity throughout our bodies, it is not a natural mineral in our bodies and that is why we eat it. However if too much salt is ingested it could cause our organs to stop working because they can’t keep up with the intake. Also hypernatremia, a common deficiency is when not enough salt is ingested or sodium is lost from the body to quickly. Ultimately this deficiency can lead to our brain swelling and even death (Freeman, 2007).

Potassium also Keeps other electrolytes in balance so you don't get electrolyte imbalance which is not so fun sounding after what I told you earlier.
Potassium works with sodium to aid in the digestion of food and in functioning of the eyes. People whose diets are low in potassium can develop hypokalemia, which in severe cases can be life threatening. Symptoms include irregular heartbeat, fatigue, muscle cramps and constipation. It is unusual for people to be deficient in potassium just because of getting too little of it in their diets, and usually is caused by other ongoing issues in the digestive system.

“Vitamin D toxicity is associated with hypercalcemia, nausea, vomiting, weakness, fatigue, hyporeflexia, dehydration, renal failure, and sometimes progresses to tissue calcification.9,10 Severe hypercalcemia can be life threatening (Genzen #4)” These are reversible symptoms that can be relieved by extremely reducing the amount of vitamin D being consumed as well as hydration and a process of flushing the body of the vitamin D. As quoted above high amounts of vitamin have the potential to be life threatening. These levels can be reached by eating too many foods fortified with vitamin D in combination with taking supplements. Other vitamins cause different symptoms, but each work in a similar pattern. There is a deficiency, when the body does not have adequate amounts of the vitamin. Normal levels, this keeps the body healthy and able to complete the tasks required of it. Lastly, there are toxicity levels that are often harmful. A balance is needed in order to maintain the body’s normal and necessary
