Recommended: Concept of health administration

If you have ever researched job titles for Health information management you should know that there are many job titles for an HIM professional. Today there are only three that I will be talking about. They are department director, medical records technician, and medical coding specialists. I will also be going into more detail about their job descriptions, education requirements and whether or not I would be interested in this particular job. The first job I am going to discuss is the department director position. Department directors are highly trained in the business aspects of health care, which includes inspecting the integrity of all clinical and financial data. They are also responsible for ensuring that providers can access accurate …show more content…

They do not work directly with patients. Their main focus is on making sure there is accurate transcription a organization of patient medical histories, symptoms, diagnosis, and the arrangement of treatments and procedures for insurance billing purposes. They play a crucial role in health care facilities and hospitals. Education includes completing a certificate program and or an associates degree in MT or HIM. I would be interested in this job because it seems like something I would enjoy doing and actually be really good at. I am really good at making sure things are organized and accurate.
