Introduction
For the last 10 years the web has reinvented itself. Moving from static HTML pages filled with information to interactive information portals, where massive amounts of people contribute to improve each other and spread knowledge.
The web was stale and static, presenting itself with only letters and inanimate images. This gave Adobe Flash and later Microsoft Silverlight; both are rich web application platforms for adding animation and interactivity to web pages, the ideal opportunity to take over and extend the development of the web design. Sites like YouTube pioneered and revolutionized videos on the web for example. Sites used these multimedia platforms to create better user experiences and they succeeded in doing so.
The reason on one hand for this development was mainly due to the lacking presence of e.g., video support or interactivity, from the current HTML or XHTML standard.
Now on the other hand a new HTML standard is coming into existence. The version number 5 of the HTML specification. It has been in development since mid 2004 [1] and is in its final stages of development as of February 2010.
What makes this iteration of the HTML standard interesting is that it aims to reduce the need for plug-in-base web application platforms such as the ones mentioned above, Flash or Silverlight. To carry out this, HTML5 introduces a number of new APIs; graphical 2D API, timed media playback API, offline storage database API, document editing API and many more [2].
This raises the question: What does this mean for the big players, Flash and Silverlight, if their biggest power users e.g., YouTube, the indie gaming community, rich internet application developers, make the switch over to HTML5. This paper will try...

The transition from Web 1.0 to Web 2.0 ushered in major paradigms shifts in the software industry. Software evolved from being a licensed product to being a subscribed web service. Development efforts slid from the tight control of specialists, for example systems analysts and programmers, towards a collaborative project between end users and technology experts. Learners are now required to teach themselves and teachers are there to facilitate the learning process. The dissemination of knowledge and wisdom would gravitate away from the puritanical filters of rigorous scholastic scrutiny towards a mashed-up crowd sourced assembly such as Wikipedia. Personal websites would now encompass a social networki...

Over the past few years a debate between Flash and HTML5 has been gaining more attention as HTML5 becomes more developed and polished. Flash has been the web standard for websites since the late 1990’s but HTML5 is quickly gaining ground and is considered by some as the standard of the “future”. Another aspect of the debate is whether or not we should go with open web standards or closed, Flash being the latter. Even though 85% of the most-visited websites run on flash, HTML5 is the future because HTML5 combined with javascript and CSS3 offers the same capabilities as flash and HTML5 can avoid many issues that Flash faces by being open source.

In 1990 the World Wide Web was invented, creating a new and never before seen information outlet. Along with the creation of the World Wide Web came the simple to use, never ending access to information. This created a new way for educators and students to achieve information. Now students, instead of researching through books and news articles, and reading the entirety of the literary work, students are able to use a computer, and type in the keywords for the subject they wished to know about.
There were skeptics that said the language was a dud and would never catch on, but now more people are learning Java Script then ever before.JavaScript is used within HTML tags so that the page setup in already present when the Java Script starts to run. There are many different uses for Java Script on the Net. It can be used to make mail forms that a customer or person trying to input information can use. The program will allow the user to input information, then it will automatically send that info to a designated email address with the click of a button. It can also be used to put a password on a certain web page; a user trying to enter the page must then input the correct commands and passwords to enter the page.
“The Internet is becoming the town square for the global village of tomorrow.” Bill Gates. The Internet is vast and is just getting bigger. It has its own community that is open to the public. The Internet is becoming a platform all on its own. It is a stepping-stone in a direction that is unknown. The Internet has become so vast that there are now different versions of it. The different versions of the web are Web 1.0, Web 2.0, the main focus of this paper, and Web 3.0. Web 1.0 is all about sharing information. It is very bland and just gets the point across of what was needed. This how the Internet had started. Web 2.0 is sharing information with interaction. To me this means social media in some fashion. The website that was accessed has a way of interacting with the users whether it be through comments or giveaways on the web. Web 3.0 is the server interacting with the individual on a particular website. Amazon is the best example of Web 3.0 because it gives recommendations based on items that have been searched. “Among American adults 87% use the web, 68% connect...
To create responsive web site, the developers must consider some technical issues, such as determining the breakpoints, determining the number of columns in the grid, calculating the width for each column and other issues that appear in the design stage. Usually rather than creating responsive web sites from the ground up and to avoid ‘re-inventing the wheel’, the developers use frameworks to simplify the designing process .
