Recommendations When Buying a Gun Safe
Buying a gun safe is a serious matter that all gun owners should take seriously. Keeping firearms stored away properly is one of the best ways to protect oneself from any sort of unwanted mishaps.
Getting a safe for guns is not that difficult of a task. There are some things that buyers should keep in mind before buying their safe. Here are some recommendations for those who want to buy a storage safe for their guns that can help in choosing the right one.
Buying the right size
Choosing the right sized safe is deceptively simple. After all, how hard is it to get the right sized safe right? People often buy a safe that fits all of their guns.
Contrary to what most people think, buying a safe that is just right size for storage is actually a common mistake. Most people buy a safe that is just the right size, but can often end up being too small. A prudent gun owner should buy a safe with a little bit of allowance.

Adding extra room is a smart idea since a gun owner can use that extra room when expanding his collection of firearms. That extra space could end up saving someone the trouble of having to buy a new safe when they expand their gun collection.
Taking a look at design and construction
Without going too in depth on the subject matter, gun safe design and construction are some of the most common things that consumers should look into. The more important elements are safe and door thickness, lock toughness, and fire resistance.
Safe thickness
Thickness is one of the more important aspects of a safe’s construction. There are plenty of safes out there and their ability to do their job properly depends largely on their thickness. The thicker the safe, the better it will be in keeping the guns stowed away
People with guns need safes that can secure and protect their firearms. There are a variety of gun safes available in the market and each gun safe caters to a specific need, and what works for one gun owner may not work for the other.
criminals do not get their guns from stores, most get them by theft or on the
Take the White House for example, the building is protected from every angle by firearms and there have been few people to make it across the grounds. Then take San Bernardino for example, they had no firearms in the building and the place was attacked and many people lost their live.
Imagine, a person is sitting in their classroom in college. He or she is focused on listening to the teacher, because he or she needs to pass the final exam in order to graduate. All of a sudden, an intruder charges through the door. The intruder pulls out a gun and starts blasting bullets throughout the classroom. There is nowhere to run and there is no way to fight back. Everyone is hit and on the floor, bleeding. This person is so close to graduating and starting a new life. Now his life has been cut short, because there was someone who illegally brought a gun to a school. Because the school had a symbol of “no guns allowed”. Because the intruder knew there was no one else could shoot back. Now imagine if that student, dying on the floor,
Guns are an instrument that even the most careful of people could do harm with. Gun owners should go to firearm safety classes so they will be educated on proper handling and storage of the gun. While this should only be voluntary, something should be done to insure that guns are only sold to people who have a safe background and are of age. Congress should mandate the registration of handguns in order to keep criminals from possessing guns, to cut back on violence in the home, and to avoid accidental or intentional violence among children.
College is seen as the beginning of young adult life, but campus crime can prevent the continuation of that life.Yet, campuses still prohibit students from carrying essential self defense weapons. This is most likely due to their ignorance of the benefits involved with allowing campus carry. Campus carry improves the overall environment of a college and promotes safety. Students should be allowed to carry guns on campus due to the current lack of protection offered through the university and an individual’s lawful right, despite the belief that it would cause an escalation in violent crime.
Gun control is a highly controversial topic in today’s world where the fight is between the liberal and the conservatives. Many people believe that guns should be banned due to many recent massacres that have happened whereas others are wanting people to have background checks done before owning a gun. I am against gun control because banning handguns in the United States should not be allowed because handguns fail to protect the people and it is ineffective.
“Children younger than three have gotten a hold of guns and shot someone at least 59 times in 2015”; a trend first reported by Christopher Ingraham add the Washington Post in October. A solution to this would be proper gun storage; adults owning a gun must be more aware of the fact of toddlers or children being at the risk of obtaining weapons and causing mischief. They should place their firearm in a safe place where a child cannot reach it or find the way to create themselves or anyone else an injury or further tragedy, including unwanted accidents. For example “Caroline Starks was two years old. Her 5-year-old brother was playing nearby with his birthday present: a.22-caliber Cricket rifle.
Crime and guns. The two seem to go hand in hand with one another. But are the two really associated? Do guns necessarily lead to crime? And if so do laws placing restrictions on firearm ownership and use stop the crime or protect the citizens? These are the questions many citizens and lawmakers are asking themselves when setting about to create gun control laws. The debate over gun control, however, is nothing new. In 1924, Presidential Candidate, Robert La Follete said, “our choice is not merely to support or oppose gun control but to decide who can own which guns under what conditions.” Clearly this debate still goes on today and is the very reason for the formation of gun control laws.
Due to the recent disruption of violent crimes on campus, many citizens that are pro-gun activist have suggested that both the students and teachers should be allowed to carry concealed weapons on school campuses. Those who are with guns allowed on school campuses claim that their rights have been violated for the reason that many college campuses refuse to allow weapons of any kind on their property. The Constitution of The United States of America already grants citizens the right to carry guns with them. It is not appropriate for guns to be in a vulnerable area such as a college campus or any University. There are already too many guns available to the public or easy to get any kind of gun, and allowing them on
Most shooters receive their guns illegally or have someone that will pass a background check buy it for them. People would normally use the weapons for hunting or protection from intruders. Certain people involved in politics are trying to argue that keeping a gun in the home could lead to future violence. Gun control advocates are pushing for regulations on how guns can be represented in the home.
Not only are children at risk but also adults. A study by Arthur Kellerman shows that “the risk of homicide in the home is three times greater in households with guns.”(2) He implies that guns stored in the home are more often used to kill a familiar person than an intruder. Gun owners do not always know who they’re shooting when they pull the trigger, often the victim of this shooting is a family member.
Guns have a long history in the United States. Guns are used for self-defense but they are also used for hunting. Since guns are a part of the American culture, it is almost impossible to get rid of all the guns in the country. However, by training people how to use the guns properly, give people the right mental care, and limit the people who can have guns could stop school shootings in America.
Also, and because of that, having a gun in the house also increases the person’s own chances of becoming the victim of an unintentional shooting. Furthermore, those who think it is better to forbid private gun ownership claim that the lack of control and tracking of gun owners may result in firearms falling into the wrong hands. This means that, if its purchase is not monitored, and anyone can have access to it, there is a possibility that a gun can end up in the hands of a citizen that is not
Gun safety is very important in the matters of teaching people that firearms are not a toy. One should always treat the gun like it is loaded. Too many people choose to play around with guns by swinging them around, tossing them to people, or aiming the gun at other people and pretending to shoot them. These are signs that people are much too immature and should not be handling a firearm.
