According to the article, “Grow Up? Not So Fast”, Lev Grossman states that the phenomenon of “twixters” is becoming more common and usual. “Twixters” who are from 18 to 25 and even beyond have become separate life stage. In other words, they are trapped between adolescence and adulthood. Twixters do not want to grow up too fast and step into the adult world. Some of the sociologists believed that it is a chance to let the young generation to choose their life style and search their goal. However, some of the economist believed that the cultural machinery used to turn kids into grownups has broken down. However, this phenomenon is not only caused by the moral of the society but also the economy of the society. Therefore, Lev Grossman concludes that the new generation is hard to grow up than it used to be.

This article is telling the truth and the facts about “twixters”. Twixters appears to graduate from college longer than others and it takes longer to start their careers and buy their first homes (Grossman 1). Moreover, the society norm and the financial wherewithal do not provide an opportunity to let the twixters grow up faster; therefore, they started to refuse to step into the adult word (Grossman 1). In addition, twixters are not lazy. They are just reaping the fruit of decades of American affluence and social liberation (Grossman 1).

First, Lev Grossman compares the marriage age in past and present; the marriage age is 21 in the past while the marriage age is 25 or even older in the present (Grossman1). He claims that twixters are taking longer to settle their life. For example, in China, the generally marriage age is from 18 to 20 in the past. However, this phenomenon changed by the time passed. For example, in the past, there is a system call hereditary system which the older generation will pass the power to their future generation. Nowadays, people are harvesting the outcome which the older generation had left for us.

To conclude, this article states the facts of the twixsters. Lev Grossman claims that twixsters are caused by the society and the environment not only oneself. Therefore, teenagers will hard to grow up than it used to be. Under this circumstance, this phenomenon will affect twixsters a lifetime. If the society does not pay attention to them, it will not only harm the moral of society but also affect the economics of society. In other words, no one contributes to the society!
