Companies such as, Apple and LG, install GPS devices in smartphones and other types of technology. These (I changed GPS to these to improve the syntax.) devices can be useful in helping someone find their way. Whether they are going on a cross country road trip or just taking a drive around town, a GPS will (I removed “always” because it is an absolute term) help them navigate their surroundings. It is important that GPSs are continued to be installed in devices, such as smartphone and cars. In emergency situations GPSs can even save lives. (I removed the last sentence to improve syntax and it was very similar in wording to a previous sentence.)
Since the start of GPS devices, traveling has become less complicated. Commenting on the topic,(I used a different signal phrase be more formal.) James Stanley explains, “Many cars come equipped with a GPS system or it can be chosen as a feature. With it being preinstalled a driver can choose a destination and listen to a simple voice as they are driving.” The simplicity that comes with GPS systems is astonishing. Drivers no longer (I removed unnecessary words.) mess with the hassle of finding their location on a paper map. Continuing with the idea of simplicity, GPS devices help on time management. They provide people with many options based on travel time and can (I removed unnecessary words.) show someone the approximate time they will arrive at

Firefighters, ambulances, and first responders take advantage of GPS technology too (I removed an absolute term to.). It is crucial for firefighters, or ambulances to know the location of someone in need and the fastest way to get there. RM Tracking reported how GPS tracking has made firefighters more effective at assessing and containing a fire. The article states that when someone is in need, tracking systems make it easier to locate the individual in need and the safest route to reach
Although this service sounds quite convenient and has its obvious benefits, there are other issues to be considered. For example, many ethical dilemmas that play from privacy issues. In a world when at one time you could take a walk to remove yourself from the eye of another, we not may be under constant supervision of sorts. Tracking devises are easily placed in many things, cell phones, which are used by nearly all people in today's American society, are the recent and most wide spread target for GPS. Is it ethical to track someone through an everyday devices such as a cell phone, is tracking people ethical in itself? These are the questions that must be resolved before we can celebrate the positives of such technological advancements.
ADT has serviced the world for over 135 years and prides itself in the products and services they provide. Throughout the years they continue to create new products and improve their existing products. ADT hopes to continue on that path with the creation of the Miniature GPS Tracking Device. Through thorough marketing research and strategic planning ADT hopes to provide this product to all consumers who can benefit from it throughout the world.
GPS systems in earlier history, were primarily used by the military branches of our government to compete with other nations we had been fighting against. At the time, many people were trying to make that technology accessible to the public living in the United States. The idea of adding a GPS inside of a cell phone came to reality briefly before the year 2000. From then on, the GPS technology in cellphones has sophisticated in such a way never imaginable. A lot of good has come from this technology, but there has also been a lot of bad that has come from it as well.
Jane Rogers the financial manager at Plants Inc. a landscaping business in Chicago concurs that employers should ethically implement the use of GPS tracking in their companies. Rogers uses GPS to track and monitor outfield workers during working hours and argues that it increases efficiency and promotes confidence in prompt services to clients. Rogers supports the need for restrictive and regulative legislation in GPS tracking to create parameters within which employers can operate and be held accountable. She points out that she passively tracks employees during working hours and only resorts to active monitoring of employees after she has received complaints from clients. Rogers also states that she reminds her employees to turn-off their

...inding the suited vehicle which is the closest to the emergency. The vehicle number will be logged and informed of the emergency. Along with the patient information and incident to expect sent to the vehicle, the GPS will provide directions from the current location to the patient and quickest path back to the hospital. The GPS will give the hospital personnel an idea of how long it will take the vehicle to get to the hospital and have equipment, room, and personnel ready to help the patient. By taking the quickest path, along with medical personnel being ready for receiving the patient, could mean the difference of life and death depending on the incident.
Garmin is leading, world as the top provider of navigation, communication and information devices and applications, many of which are enabled by Global Positioning System (GPS) technology. Garmin designs, develops, manufactures and markets a diverse family of hand‐held, portable and fixed‐mount GPS‐enabled products and other navigation, communications and information products for the automotive/mobile, outdoor, fitness, marine, and general aviation markets. Garmin had a hold of half of the GPS advertise in North America, has a nearness in 100 nations around the world, and is conveyed by more than 2,500 autonomous merchants. A tremendous piece of the business, as we have seen, is the capacity to outline and deliver new, imaginative items.
There was a time a person would use a roadmap to get from one location to another. Some also would stop and ask for directions. Today, you seldom see paper maps and people stopping at a local gas station for directions. Many vehicles come with a navigation system that provides a real-time map of the vehicle’s current location as well as systematic directions to requested destination.
GPS is a system of satellites radio-transmitters that orbit the planet in great numbers; their purpose is to be able to pinpoint the exact location of an individual or any type of vessel that is equipped with a receiver transmitter within a very small radius. GPS navigation has had a great impact upon society in general as well and its commercial and military applications. Global Positioning is made available at no cost to anyone who has a GPS receiver unit anywhere on the planet. A GPS unit is able to give the user longitude/latitude information as well as, altitude, traveling speed, distance traveled, distance remaining and time in any type of weather conditions imaginable.
The Global Positioning System, more commonly called the GPS is a satellite based system that provides navigation for almost everything from cell phones to automobiles. This wonderful technology is very vital in today’s economy because of its prominence in banking, financial markets, power grids, farming, construction and so much more. It also protects human life by preventing accidents, helping in search and rescue missions and is critical to nearly every facet of military operations. There are three segments that make up the global positioning system: the space segment, the control segment and the user segment. The segment we are familiar with is the user segment. The user segment is what receives GPS signals, determines the distance between a satellite and a receiver and solves the navigation equations, all in order to obtain the coordinates of a specific place. The space segment consists of 31 satellites but there is an availability of at least 24 satellites that are approximately 6 000-12 000 miles above the earth.
One advantage of having a cell phone is that its very helpful when a person needs to contact a friend or a family member (9). For example, when someone is lost in a place they have never been in. But now a days people owning a cell phone can never get lost because now phones have a map that tells you where your location is. Now a phone can also be a credit/debit card swiper for someone's business.
Tracking teens could potentially prevent them from doing drugs and befriending questionable people. To add on to this point, if teens were to be tracked then parents would know if they were kidnapped resulting in a higher chance of saving their children. Finally, were parents to know where their children are would allow them to feel more secure and relieved. “Mark Pawlick says he used to live in constant worry about his teenage kids-especially his stepdaughter, Jessica.”(www.npr.org)As a result of this GPS parents won't feel this constant worry.
When I look past what's inside the Ford Focus LX Premium versus the SE Comfort, I can see many of these technological advances for what they really are: unnecessary risks. The fact is that the number of accidents (and deaths) increases as a direct result of driver distractions, and more technology only provides more distraction. Unfortunately, manufacturers realize a high tech GPS system can sell for a lot more than an improved seat belt. Protection of human safety should be the primary concern of transportation regulations and in-vehicle technology developments. So while other people continue to drive while calling in to check voice mail, worrying about finishing off the Big Gulp Slurpee, and buying a GPS navigator to find the fastest route to grandma's house, I'll know I drove away from the dealership with the safest option: focus.
I go to the same place at least four times a year with my friends. Instead of learning where we are going which is the same route we take every time, We have to use a GPS because our minds don 't pick up the surrounding areas or the road sign because we wait for the GPS to say take the right in 500 feet. As a new driver GPS are great to get around when you live in the country town like me. But the drawback when using a GPS were not learning anything because we choose to technology to get us to our destination instead of our brains. By doing this our brains are getting
The disadvantage is that all forms of vehicles on our roads are polluting the atmosphere. Even electric cars are powered by electricity generated by fossil fuels. Car accidents are also a very big killer worldwide and many lives have been lost because of car accidents/incidents. Second, Smartphones allow people to stay in touch, even over long distances, and they are relatively safe and reliable to use. There are devices that can communicate with people at the other end of the planet and getting and keeping in touch with other people is very easy.
