Gospel Essentials Let me tell you about an amazing creator who is the God of three persons – The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit otherwise known as the Trinity. Jesus took on human flesh so that he can be one of our mankind. To go to eternity, you need to obey the covenant of God and make sure that as a human you have justification by faith where your human heart is restored and your follow Gods word. Be a true Christian follow God word, don’t fall to humanity and let your heart be restored to follow God’s wisdom God is the great I am. He is holy and the creator of all things. He provided the ten commandments (Exodus 20) with the first one that started out as “I am the Lord your God” (Iozzio, 2006). He created mankind and …show more content…
He didn’t want us to sin, as we were to be perfect in his eyes. But that all went away after Adam and Eve disobeyed God’s command to not eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and this is when sin was introduced into the world (the Fall). Sin is now just a human nature thing in us and now we keep making poor choices as we have the “sin” blood in us and we need to make the right choices daily to keep us sin free. Jesus is the eternal son of God. Jesus died for our sins on the cross. Jesus took on flesh so that he could be one of our mankind, but he is not just man; he is God in flesh, the second person in the Trinity. “The son is the image of the invisible God, the first born over all creation for in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities, all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together (Colossians 1:15-16). Jesus is also the Lamb of God, as there has always been the image of Jesus as lamb being sactificial which represents that Jesus being the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world (Martens, …show more content…
I feel that the is a big weakness in the Christian faith with the people who think that they pray to God once or twice and actually do not have a relationship with him and they think that just because they do this they will gain eternal life but yet they continue to keep on sinning. I understand that all people sin and ask for forgiveness but they actually do have a relationship with God. Another one is the ones that think they are holier than though and try to push their religion on you. I believe in God as my savior and that if I follow his word and do not sin that I will gain eternal life and go to heaven. I have a relationship with God try not to sin and if I do I do ask for forgiveness. There are so many things that he does for us that so many people do not get to experience as they do not believe. It opens your eyes when you do experience a “sign” that God is there leading you to do something without even second doubting yourself as you just know it is the right thing to do as there is no other reason for it except one,
“The word "Incarnation"comes from the Latin words "in" and "carnis" which means “flesh."" Flesh is the solid part of our being, the part that we can see and touch, in contrast to our mind, soul, and spirit” According to John 4:24, God in his natural form is a spirit. In God’s plan of salvation, “it was necessary for the Son of God to be revealed to humankind in ways that they could see and touch, and so the Incarnation was a part of the plan-- placing the eternal, immortal, invisible Son of God in a body of flesh”(Lehigh, David). According to the Catholic Church, “The Incarnation of the Son of God does not mean that Jesus Christ is part God and part man, nor does it imply that he is the result of a confused mixture of the divine and the human.
“Sin finds its remedy under the fourth fundamental Christian doctrine, the atonement, worked by Jesus Christ. The orthodox understanding of the atonement sees Christ’s death as satisfying the just wrath of God over man’s sins.” Generally speaking, God has provided a way for man to escape eternally death. It’s the way for his creation to be reconciled back to him. “When Christ died, the Trinity itself split, in order to fulfill the law while providing forgiveness to humans. The doctrine that God himself keeps the law-his own law-even at so a [sic] great a cost to himself, demonstrates his most profound commitment to the rule of law. All things considered, God in the person of Jesus Christ came to earth and obeyed the laws of God without deviation he accepted the Laws of
..., and the praising of false idols. It was necessary for God to become human so that we may be able to finally see our Ruler in the flesh. Through all the treacherous moments Jesus endured, He ended all corruption and opened the gates of Heaven for all. Through all these deeds we must remember that “He is in truth Son of God, Existent Word and Wisdom and Power of the Father” (Athanasius 40), and that is why nothing is impossible through God. These saving actions of Jesus are important because without this manifestation, the world would still be plagued with sin and death.
He had to shed his immortality and take on the nature of man without sin so that He could stand in man’s stead and put death away from all His peers by offering Himself as an equivalent” (section 9). Athanasius claims that “of His becoming Incarnate we were the object, and for our salvation, He dealt so lovingly as to appear and be born even in a human body” (section 4). The incarnate Jesus can be described as a barrier between humanity and corruption. “For because the Word dwelling with them, even their natural corruption did not come near them (section 5). According to Athanasius, through Jesus’ teaching, He restored all that was man’s by correcting their neglect through His own Power (section
the gap that existed between man and God because of sin, has been bridged. His precious blood that was shed on the cross wiped away all our sins. Furthermore, the death of Christ means humanity received grace; “grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” According to John the Baptist in John 1:18, know one has set eyes on the Father, but through Jesus Christ, who is in close relation with God the Father, has made Him known.
Simply stated, “the word "gospel" means simply good news.” With that definition, then the good news would summarize all of the information found in the New Testament and the teachings of Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul recaps the most basic components in the gospel message. These are found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-8, specifically listed in 15:3-4 (NRSV) “For I handed on to you as of first importance what I in turn had received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures,”. “These verses, which were an early Christian confession, give us the heart of the gospel” and show the importance of three incidents; that Christ died
Jesus the Christ is God the Father (that One and only Holy Spirit - God is a Spirit and One) in flesh - the Son of God. It was God the Father who was responsible for overshadowing the virgin Mary and causing her to conceive. So Mary was the source of His humanity and God was the source of His divinity. He became a man but he did not cease to be God the Father of the universe. He could probably best be explained as the God-Man. Sometimes He spoke and acted as a man.
In conclusion, the Incarnation was a direct road leading to our salvation through Jesus’ teachings, through His death and then through His resurrection. Jesus continues to administer his saving work upon us everyday as part of the Holy Trinity, one with God in heaven. Christ makes himself known to all, no matter the circumstance. Through the Incarnation our sins were absolved and death was defeated. We are able now to continue after earthly life to the kingdom of heaven to live forever with God.
Jesus was considered as one with God, the son of God and yet God himself too. His teachings
Incarnation means “in flesh”. So the incarnation of Christ means that Christ took the form of human flesh and walked the earth. He experienced the same
Gospel, in Greek Euangelion, meaning “good news”; are the records written by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. There has been much debate in the Scholarly community as to whether these records are authentic and historically accurate. Most scholars agree that the Gospels are authentic and accurate records of Jesus life, however there are still those that believe that they were made up to promote a fledgling faith. Consequently, I am going to explain in detail why the Gospel is both authentic and an accurate representation of Jesus life.
Israeli-Canadian writer and film-maker alongside Toronto based York University religious studies professor Barrie Wilson are stirring the pot again regarding the so-called son of god. They have co-written a book entitled The Lost Gospel in which they claim that Jesus was well-connected with powerful Romans and ideed as a 20 year old survived an attempt on his life.
Jesus’ identity does not stop at just being the only begotten Son of God. He is also the giver of life and Judge. John 5:21-23 tells us that God judges no one because He has given Jesus absolute authority to judge.
Sin has been defined as many things by many groups throughout the ages. In the Old Testament it was defined as a failure to hit a mark or an attitude of rebellion. In the New Testament it is defined as failing to conform to a standard or as a condition. However, we must decide for ourselves what it means in our own lives. The Holy Spirit will guide us in our definition. Without being taught right and wrong we still are able to decipher between the two.
Jesus, our Lord and Savior, had to become man in order to save us from our sins. After humanity was corrupted by Adam and Eve, God the Father knew that He had to save us from sin and death. He chose to save us through His son, the Second Person of the Trinity, Jesus Christ by assuming a human nature so that He could die thus ending death. Christ’s death on the cross, resurrection, and ascension proved God saved us and opened the gates of Heaven.
