Introduction It is imperative that teachers and stakeholders are aware that abuse occurs in many homes involving children. Many children are placed in harms’ way daily and it has had a devastating effect on their learning capabilities. It is hard for a teacher to determine if a child is being neglected or abused if there are no physical marks identifiable. It is important that children are educated on abuse and can identify when abuse is occurring. The teacher has to know how the children in his/her class learn in order to notice that there is a change of willingness or incapability’s of being able to effectively learn because of their home environment. If a child is being abused, it could take a toll on the child as a whole, which would show a child to display their feelings in an environment of acceptance. Sigmund Freud would treat his patients by following their sexual history. Children go through cognitive issues after abuse has taken place, and often have to seek help to get past the devastation.
Organization
God’s Little Blessings is directed by Charlene Guess. Mrs. Guess has been directing this childcare facility for the past twelve years, and she is passionate about the education that the children receive from the daycare center. The center has a mission statement that all employees must abide by. Program Mission Statement: “Our Mission is to meet the developmental needs for infants, toddlers, preschool, and school age children. Our program is designed to promote cognitive, physical, social and emotional growth. Guess (2003), Our goal is to encourage children to learn continuously even beyond high school.”
God’s Little Blessings Daycare is open from 6:00AM to 6:00PM. There are a total of eight classrooms in the building, but only five of them are being utilized which is the infant, toddler, preschool, and two school-aged classrooms. Each classroom has a lesson plan, allergy list, lunch menu, and a class schedule that the employees must adhere to
