“See the World” by Gomez is a song well suited to the challenges faced by the main character, Thomas, in The Maze Runner by James Dashner. Thomas wakes up in an unfamiliar world known as the Glade, “empty handed, surrounded by a senseless scene”, as the song states, together with other boys who have lived there for the past two years. Without any memory of their previous lives but their names, the boys are stuck trying to figure out how to get out of the Maze without being killed by Grievers, mechanical monsters that roam the Maze each day. Being the newbie in the Glade, Thomas is tormented by other Gladers, mainly another boy named Gally. This part of the book relates to the third sentence in the song, “‘Cos now you’re trying to pick a fight
/ With everyone you need”. Fighting and taunting each other is not going to help any of the Gladers get out of the Maze, but Thomas has become “a soldier who’s lost his composure”. In addition, when Gally mentions something called the Changing, the Gladers are just left waiting to find out what is going to happen to them and if they will ever be able to escape. This relates to the lyrics, “You’re wounded and playing a waiting game”. Although none of the boys are really injured, they are wounded and helpless without their memories. The plot really progresses along when a girl named Theresa enters the Glade. She bears a message stating that the Glade is going to change. “Burning blue eyes darted back and forth as she took deep breaths. Her pink lips trembled as she mumbled something over and over, indecipherable. Then she spoke one sentence--her voice hollow and haunted, but clear. ‘Everything is going to change’” (Dashner 57). After meeting her, Thomas is prompted to solve the Maze and escape the Glade, which can be represented by the chorus of the song, “See the world / Find an old fashioned girl”. Furthermore, a sentence in the song, “With nothing of significance, besides a shadow of a dream” relates to the Gladers because they have no memories and some, like Thomas, have dreams about their former lives and only remember bits and pieces. In conclusion, although the tone and mood of the song, “See the World”, seems more upbeat and happy than that of The Maze Runner, the lyrics compliment the dark theme of the book.
People do not have to fly to be hero, it takes much more. Many heroes of today are shown to have supernatural powers that makes them acquire amazing abilities, flying, super strength, skills to manifest anything, the list goes on. Our heroes in the present time are perceived by the audiences' mindset to have special powers but there are times where being a hero does not need to have all the extra tricks. Thomas, a character in The Maze Runner is thrown unconsciously with no memory into a place of the unknown called the Glades, consisting of only teenagers inhabiting the area. He would soon find out the whole place is bordered by a big wall that closes by night and day to protect them from the maze that are filled with demonic machines that will kill on sight. This begins his adventure, eager to learn what is out there and willing to become a maze runner which is equivalent to being a tribute for the greater good in their little homemade society. Having powers might help to become a hero, but in the dystopian novel The Maze Runner, by James Dashner, his protagonist Thomas demonstrates the hero journey in a more natural way by crossing the threshold, meeting a mentor, and lastly having tests, allies and enemies.

The Maze Runner, a Novel By James Dashner, verbalizes about a boy that arouses in a metal box with no recollection of who he genuinely really is, when he soon realizes that he is in an elevator being taken to a place called “The Glade”. Hey you, Yeah… YOU! Would you want to live in a society where you live in a box for your entire life, and mean absolutely nothing to the just about anyone? For science right? NOPE! The novel The Maze Runner by James Dashner begins with a teenage boy waking up in an elevator who has no memory of the past, only that his name is Thomas. When the doors of the elevator open up he is pulled into a humongous square surrounding, called the Glade, by a group of teenage boys. The boys in the Glade refer to themselves as the ‘Gladers’. Thomas learns that the Gladers have lived in there for two years and that the Glade is located in the center of a maze which contains a labyrinth of high walls that move during the night and deadly creatures called grievers. The Glade is led by two boys, Alby and Newt; they both maintain order in the Glade by enforcing strict rules and jobs that keep the Gladers busy. A day after Thomas’ arrival an unknown girl arrives in the Glade. This shocks everyone because the Gladers only receive a new person every month, never within the same week. This also shocks everyone because she was the only girl in a maze full of boys. The girl also gives a message that everything is going to change and that she is the last one ever. Right after her message she immediately falls into a coma. The arrival of the girl causes many things to go chaotic including the sun seizing to rise, the Gladers stop receiving supplies from the creators of the maze, and the doors of the Glade that protect the Gladers from the grievers at night stop closing. When the girl, Teresa wakes up she informs Thomas that they both knew each other in the past and that the maze was a code. Thomas and the people who run around the maze to map out the labyrinth, the runners, look through the archives of the maps and find out the code. Then the leader of the runners, Minho, figures out that the cliff they thought was just a cliff was actua...

Hollywood in the 1940s is centered on outward appearances, cultivating a veneer of glamor and prestige, but beneath the surface is a localized version of the American culture and its intense focus on turning anything that can produce a profit into a sprawling business. In The Loved One Waugh uses the funeral business to show this commercialization, and religion to illustrate the exploitation of what should be a revered practice. He also implements caricatures into his characterization to better illustrate how human nature acts in society.

The name of it is Time, and it’s from the movie Inception. The song has very uplifting spirit, and is the song used at the end of the movie. Hans explains “ the song wraps up the movie and everything comes full circle, and I really feel like the song helps the viewer understand the concept” (Inception Hans Zimmer) The song starts with two piano notes playing while the cello players build up the tone. The string instruments take over the song and really start picking up the pace of the song with more of clear beat. After a few seconds a guitar starts to play in the background. Hans Zimmer uses the introduction of instruments in this piece very well. It feels like every time he introduces an instrument they get their two second solo in the song. The brass instruments really pick up the beat, and at this point the song is getting louder. At the end the song ends with the same two piano notes at the end. Inception had one of the hardest concepts to understand which is the one of dreaming. This song really feels like a dream. The different instruments being introduced is how things in a dream are introduced out of

This story is closely related to the song “Demons” by Imagine

I was inspired by this song because it was first time and this song was in my graphic organizer that describes experience of my first plane flight. I like to listen to this song with my best friends Danielle, and Brigitte. This song describes me because it reminds me when my parents first took me to Disney World when I was six years old, and it was 3 a.m. and I was very excited to go with my cousins. It was my first plane flight so, I was very excited and at the same time I didn’t know what it would feel like. First, we went through the metal detector to take off our shoes and bags. Second, we went on a train and got some food once we got off at McDonalds. Once we got on the plane my mom said to chew gum and once we got there I was surprised we got there in an hour and thirty minutes. The lyrics to this song were written by Bruno Mars and in the song it says, “A whole new world is waiting its mine for the taking I know I can make it today my life begins.” It shows how someone’s journey begins and their life starts taking off. The pitch of this song is low because Bruno Mars doesn’t sing in a high pitch voice. The form of this song is ABA.
