Brave New World, by Aldous Huxley, a wicked piece of literature tells the tale of a controlled, cruel futuristic society. Brave New World is not a pleasant book, it is spine-chilling. In this book, the government uses genetic engineering to produce the population. Using horrible methods, the society is stratified by genetically-predestined castes. Young members of all the castes are brainwashed to believe in lies. There are no emotional, relationships, literature, and religion, causing this book to be truly terrifying. The government in this society uses genetic engineering to produce babies. Embryos are made in a factory, where they travel in bottles on a conveyor belt. Each embryo is designed to fit into one of the five castes: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, and Epsilon. Destined to be the leaders and thinkers, Alphas are the intellectually superior members of society. After the Alpha caste, each group becomes less intelligent and less psychically powerful than the one before it. Thus, Epsilons are the most unintellectual and unathletic caste.
