How have theories of creativity impacted generative design research?
Generative research is a kind of research that helps us to define the problem that appears on the things that already exist, and also drives the designers to find a solution for it. In order to achieve that, the designers will have to understand what users or clients need, what do they want, and what is their goal. In the process of investigation for the existence design problem, it is very important to understand what people say what people do, and what people make. Also, we will need to conduct effective and comprehensive information collection, data management and sorting. Using appropriate methods to analyze and evaluate the findings, recognize and identify problems; develop and apply a series of solutions to research problems. In order to be a good a generative design researcher, it is important to have a keen insight and observation skill, management skill, data organize, analyze skill, time creative, and dare to make new attempts. Also, as a good a generative design researcher we have to maintain a serious and responsible attitude toward each research project. Designers are faced with all different kinds details, how we deal with those details are affecting the success of the entire researcher. Florida (2002) defines creativity as the ability to synthesize. In his book, he claims creativity as the “decisive source” of competitive advantage and that creative class is the prominent driving force of economic development. Creativity in artistic and cultural forms has involved in inspiring economic and technological creativity and it is believed that, in that sense, economy moves from a system of company-centered to more of a mechanism of people-driven.
In Sir Ken Robinson’s Ted Talk video, he had many major points that relate to the definition and importance of creativity. A major point how creativity is as important in education as literacy. According to Sir Ken Robinson, “we should treat it with the same status. He explains is that education is used to prepare use for the future, but the future is unpredictable.”.
Often, creativity phase plays critical role in providing good opportunity to familiarize the client with the team work. Moreover, they share potential ideas and proposals to reduce cost; without affecting quality or functionality negatively. Accordingly, there will be a base of ranked and classified ideas and views.

When it comes to design, there are infinite methods in which you could approach any given idea. The only limit is your imagination. The particular area of design concerned here are those that are interactive, something that creates a real connected experience between ever evolving technology and the curious general public, as without this spark, it is very possible that the design will be rendered forgettable. In this report, I will discuss some specific methods used for various successful pieces of design, followed by how these have inspired my personal design journey.
Constraints can influence on creativity both negatively and positively. Constraints generally undermine creativity by inhibiting uniqueness and intrinsic motivation to a large extent. In a sense, the best way to improve and develop creativity is to identify and eliminate all constraints. Yet this is not always the case in most of creativity works. That is to say, constraints also have a positive impact on creativity under certain circumstances. Just as the same coin has two extremely different sides, so too does constraint. The bottom line is that the right sort of constraints can in fact stoke the innovation fire (Amabile & Kramer, 2010). It is the strategic use of constraints that matters.
A new product on the market may look all shiny and new and be appealing to customers but what is the story behind the product and what is the underlying future for this product. Where were the original materials from? Is it all legalised? Where did the manufacturing take place? How was the product manufactured? These are all questions that are never properly addressed in the design industry and are just simply overlooked. They are the aspects of designing and producing a new product that need to be carefully looked at to make a good design, and to make sustainable products.
Design has major impact with concerns to environmental qualities. This field is a direct study of the relationship between behaviouristic actions of its inhabitants. Designers constantly interact with people and communicate to solve the needs of their clients regardless of large or small scale projects. Analysis is key in combining creativity with managerial design solutions. Since we are born we have imagination and as we grow up this imagination may increase or decrease. Creativity strongly relies in our imagination. Depending on different circumstances people learn to express their creativity openly while other people close themselves and believe they do not have creativity. Creativity is a natural talent that every single human has. Creativity can be used to solve a complex problem in a different manner or just to find innovative ways to have fun. Creativity is thinking out of the box. Even though creativity cannot be taught from scratch there should be a class that is specific for creativity.
Some creative ideas are amazing, simple and others complex. Creativity is a process, and it improves when a person continually work hard and come out with new ideas. Harris (1998)
